ParticipantDon’t forget Ashley and Sean (Cinderella and Prince Thomas) are together with their baby because of Emma’s efforts as well. And Ruby kind of found herself as well.
I just realized that Ashley aka Cinderella waited all those years to have that baby — until time started again when Emma came. Those guys must have been in a type of limbo in SB waiting for her to arrive. Weird.

ParticipantI’m calling that August is Peter Pan.
I’ve read all the theories and know what H & K said about copyright, but did a little research and think that might not be the whole truth especially since Disney made an animated version and OUaT is Disney associated. So until we know for sure…

ParticipantSame thought as hjbau, SW tells Cora, Cora confronts Regina and tells her to forget it, Regina considers running away with the stable boy (maybe that is what SW tells), and Cora stops them by killing Regina’s true love (or turning him into a toad) and ruining her happiness, which Regina perceives being SW’s fault. I don’t know, somewhere along the way, the thought occurred to me that perhaps she kills her mother in revenge, but then she loses her mother and her lover and vengeance seldom brings true satisfaction, and when she realizes what she has done she blames it on SW, who if she hadn’t told Regina’s secret to begin with, she perceives none of this would have happened and she would be living happily ever after having run away with her true love. Who knows, maybe her lover is the apple tree. We know she brought the tree with her to the palace.

Participant“Hat Trick” – While searching for a missing Mary Margaret, Emma is kidnapped by a man whose affinity for hats has him teetering on the edge of madness. Meanwhile, viewers will be transported outside of the fairytale land that was for the first time when the Evil Queen persuades a skillful man of magic to come work for her one last time and travel to Wonderland in order to help steal something from the Queen of Hearts, on “Once Upon a Time,” SUNDAY, MARCH 25 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.
I think it is because of this press release (spoiler) for this episode that I think Regina might be involved somehow. And I guess I also think that Jefferson knows the FTL characters are stuck in SB. I think he knows somehow. Maybe he bumps into Emma and she awakens that awareness in him somehow, and that’s how he knows she has magic.

ParticipantI’m thinking Regina is behind these kidnappings even if it was through some power of suggestion to “Jefferson”. Why would he kidnap the sheriff on his own? Someone has to give him a reason.
Also, interesting thought on the reflections, hjbau. I noticed those as well, but couldn’t think why they would have filmed it that way particularly.
Also, Bae becomes the Hatter? Interesting thought, but as much as I welcome it, that one would really surprise me. I can’t fathom how he would have lived all those years as the Hatter never aging.
I would love to see the guy with the carrot from the Dreamy episode show up for tea, though, even if the Mad Hatter/Jefferson slams the door in his face:)
I’ve also seen photos that elude to August showing up at Jefferson’s house to talk with him.

And it might be different people in both worlds that return.
I am of this same mindset. These are smart writers that produce parallels in each reality.
IN FTL it could be Baelfire, Prince Thomas, Belle back to Rumpelstiltskin, Hansel and Gretel find their father even. It could be someone banished that comes back, perhaps Regina’s mother (just guessing here). Perhaps Pinnochio is returned to Gepetto saw a theory on that in another forum.
In SB there is Kathryn, Belle, August, memories, or perhaps once again a game changer like August shows up out of the blue, perhaps Pinnochio, if he’s not August.
Again, there are so many places these writers can take us, it is hard to say. I just hope I am as pleasantly surprised as I was with Red-handed and Heart of Darkness. I love having theories, but it is so fun to see the story unfold in unexpected ways — like August telling Henry to look for answers in the book and he finds the skeleton keys. And Emma seeing the skeleton keys work. Or the skeleton key falling out of the blanket in MM’s cell. Or Mr. Gold being invested in MM/SW’s future in both worlds. I am hoping for a pleasant surprise when it comes to this show and the next. As much as I like the Pinnochio theory for August, there is a part of me hoping it’s not right and the writer’s have come up with something a little bit better, or it’s right, but not like people think.
The original title for this episode had something to do with a witch, but the press quickly changed it to The Return. I thought it was The return of the witch, but I think someone else saw it and it was not the return, but something else. (hjbau?) I figure the writers thought the other title gave too much away, and I have been searching for the PR for what was originally the title, but cannot find it now

ParticipantI will go one step farther and guess that perhaps Regina is behind it all, whether she hires someone or merely “suggests” to a very deranged person whose buttons she knows how to push, but in the process Emma is going to meet someone, deranged or not, who believes what she will not.
Emma may be outraged at the start, but by the end, I don’t think so.
Who knows, maybe it is all Mr. Gold’s plan. We may not agree with his methods, but the result, the outcome is another thing. Depends whether or not he’s trying to truly defend MM or wanting Emma to find the truth.

ParticipantTotally agree with Hjbau that this is when Snow gets the poison apple, and sticking with the idea that the first scene in the pilot will be the last scene in the finale or maybe the last scene will be David and MM kissing and remembering – transference of the opening idea in FTL to the last scene in SB.

ParticipantWell, although I would love it if August is Baelfire and Peter Pan, yes I subscribe to the crossover theories of characters, I can also see him possibly being Pinnochio. One way or another I believe the fairies are involved. What if Baelfire’s “fairy godmother” gives him an out. We know the mines are not making fairy dust toward the end of the storyline where they lock up Rumpel. Perhaps the fairies are banished and take Baelfire with them to Neverland perhaps, where he doesn’t grow up, but does a lot of traveling before returning to the “real ” world.
