ParticipantWhat’s with the gardening theme in the episode titles so far? Will Hyperion Heights have a community garden or something and this is the name of it? Maybe “The Witch” character played by Emma Booth owns it and Eloise is her cursed name. If she’s the witch from Rapunzel that would sort of fit for the Mother Gothel character to have a garden referencing the magic flower from Tangled. Otherwise the only Eloise I know of is the same-titled 1950s children’s book series by Kay Thompson.
That is a very good theory. Nice job! I think it really fits with the original Grimm’s fairytale version in which the reason Rapunzel is taken is because her mother, while pregnant with her, had a craving for some rapunzel (i.e. German for rampion). Rapunzel’s father therefore breaks into a garden and picks some for his pregnant wife. Unfortunately for the little family, the garden belonged to a woman, Dame Gothel, who catches the father and demands the baby be given to her as payment. The father oddly accepts Dame Gothel’s odd deal, which is very reminencent of the kind of baby-swapping deal Rumplestiltskin would have made.

ParticipantSo the writers are re-casting the role of Rapunzel, previously played by a black woman, with a white woman? Just when I thought the writers were trying to diversify the cast by introducing Tiana and a Latina Cinderella. *sigh* Even though I know that Rapunzel is a blonde European woman in the traditional German fairytale, I think it’s a step backwards to replace a black Rapunzel, which was actually very innovative, with a white woman. It would have been better if the writers had explored more of the previous black Rapunzel’s story, rather than wait to explore more of Rapunzel 2.0’s story when she is portrayed by a white actress. It just leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

Participant“Emma Jones” in 7×3 and beyond?
Doubtful. I don’t think it’s just a matter of semantics. It’s not an exact quote since I was paraphrasing. What Jennifer actually wrote on Instagram was: “If ABC Network does in fact order a season 7, I have agreed to appear in one episode,” and we know that episode she appears in will be 7×2. Hence, she was only contracted to show in one episode and most likely won’t appear beyond it.

ParticipantEmma got to escape Pan’s dark curse in S3 because she was the savior. Maybe Henry escaped the dark curse because he’s the author. So he doesn’t have a fake identity. However, maybe he lost his memories still and Regina blessed him with good memories the way she did back in 3×11 “Going Home.” It’s either that or Henry took away his own memories via a memory-erasing potion in an attempt to forget everything the way Snow White did to forget Prince Charming in season 1.

ParticipantGiven that Jennifer has said firmly that she won’t be appearing again, I don’t know what to say. Unless she is lying the way Kit Harrington had to on GoT, then I really don’t think Emma’s story will continue. A&E just said her story won’t continue. I think it’s good to prepare oneself for the strong possibility that she really is gone. When MRJ left the show, it was really sad for his fans, and many of us were in denial about it. It’s good to be prepared, especially since Jennifer has already left the show for good it seems. When MRJ left, we didn’t even know for sure, but with Jennifer, we know with 99% certainity that she won’t return.

ParticipantGiven the latest spoilers, I have a feeling that Emma will die in 7×2 .
Emma’s death would mean a lot of things. I think Emma may tell Hook to go be happy even if it’s without her (the way Neal told Emma to go find Tallahassee even if it was without him). I predict season seven will (in part) be about Hook picking up the pieces of his life after he loses Emma and finally reaching his potential as a hero without her to guide him. He’ll finally do the right thing and help Henry simply because it’s the right thing to do and not for any personal gain (i.e. getting Emma back for all Hook’s good deeds). It’d be the story that should have existed between Hook and Nealfire, his first de facto step-son, all those decades before.

ParticipantI have a sinking feeling that Emma Swan is actually going to die this time (and stay dead). Yes, I know it doesn’t make a lick of sense given that Emma should have died in the season 6 finale when she sacrificed herself as a savior, but the writers might have been hoping that Jennifer Morrison would change her mind at the last moment.
“We get to find out what has happened with Emma and Hook [Colin O’Donoghue] since our happy ending we showed last year,” executive producer Adam Horowitz tells EW. “We will be getting closure on her story in what we feel is a satisfying way.”
“Getting closure on her story” sounds definitively that this is the end of Emma’s story (i.e. she’s firmly not coming back). Adam is not mincing his words. Unless this is a major fake out (a la Jon Snow on GoT), then I think it’s really the end of the line for her. I don’t think Emma would be resurrected either since Jennifer Morrison firmly let it be known in the summer that she wouldn’t appear as Emma Swan after 7×2. The way JMo spoke on social media really reminded me of the way that MRJ spoke when he came back to film a final scene with Jennifer in the bug for the 100th episode. He said it was a nice “bookend” to Neal’s story (i.e. closure for his fans).
“We’re moving forward past the end of season 6, seeing what happened with Emma and Hook, and how it relates to the events in Hyperion Heights. It’s an emotional curtain call,” said Edward Kitsis.
Eddy said this episode would be an “emotional curtain call.” If that doesn’t say end of the road for Emma and her relationship with Hook, then I don’t know what else does.

ParticipantIt’s nice that the Season 7 main cast definitely has more diversity than previous Seasons.
Sounds like ABC has finally listened to a valid critique of the show and done something about it. Making the main cast more diverse is hopefully a step in the right direction if not a bit late in the game.

ParticipantAlthough it is rather early for that to happen IMO. Since it’s supposedly a Regina centric, perhaps only the curse on her is broken.
Agreed. IMO, only Regina will wake up this early in the season the way that Graham did in season one.

ParticipantHow much do you want to bet that this season Lucy is going to be pushing for her parents to get back together the exact same way that Henry wanted to get a castle with his parents?
