Participantpoints to Maleficent being alive again in the present.
Yeah…I guess dead isn’t really dead for some characters. Seems like villains have all the luck.

ParticipantCould Baevil actually become a thing? I kid, but to support this crack theory are recent spoilers. Cruella de Vil has been confirmed as coming to town. Also, the title for 4×12 “Darkness on the Edge of Town” makes it seem like a villain will be coming to SB from the outside world. Could that be Cruella? She seems like the type to come from A Land Without Magic versus the EF. So maybe whoever claimed she was the boss of Neal in NYC could be onto something. I recall someone theorized that since Neal was good at drawing, maybe he worked in the fashion business headed up by Cruella. There was a spoiler image of Rumple conversing with Cruella in 4×12. Could it be that he wants information out of her about Neal?

ParticipantWhat is their angle with all these female villains? And is Ursula a villain on Once now? I thought Regina-Ursula was a villain and the Myth/Sea Goddess-Ursula was sort of neutral-ish.
Yeah, that’s odd. Ursula seemed like a mythical sea goddess come to life in “Ariel” played by Regina first, and then took on the form of a statue. But now she seems like an actual sea witch. Is she simply a magical being who was mistaken for being devine? I’ve not a blessed clue. It’s all a bit jumbled to me.
And wasn’t Maleficent dead?
Yeah, Emma slew Maleficent in her dragon form in 1×22. But apparently, there is some sort of powerful spell which regenerates the ashes of Mal to make her into Zombie Mal. So it might be we only see Mal in flashbacks. But I’ve my own theory that if Regina successfully rewrites the storybook to give the villains their happy endings, then it will mean Mal never died at the hands of Emma, meaning she’s alive in present-day SB.
Maybe Rumple needs the powers of all these villains? But does Cruella even have powers? I thought she was just a mean fashionista. So then what?
Yeah, I’m scratching my head over that one. I sort of think Cruella de Vil might come from A Land Without Magic. I don’t think she’ll have magic, even in SB. I’m not sure what would draw her into SB from the outside world, but maybe she’s after more of Pongo’s pups.

ParticipantIf we’re seeing Ursula does that mean we’ll be seeing Ariel again? Be on the look out for Joanna Garcia. I’d like to see Ariel team up with Snow White and Belle again. Princess power!
With Maleficent returning, I expect to see more of Aurora, too. If so, I hope to see Sara Bolger and Julian Morris again. Hopefully, we’ll finally get the tale of Sleeping Beauty rather than just trying to piece together the story like in S2.
Also why are Maleficent, Ursula and Cruella de Vil all appearing in S4b? Talk about villain overload. That sounds like fan-fic in which the Disney villains team up to take revenge on the heroes who deprived them of their HEA.
Why are they suddenly in town? Maybe it has something to do with Rumple and his quest for power. Maybe he wants to vacuum them into the sorcerer’s hat. Or maybe Henry accidentally releases them from the hat. Or maybe Regina successfully rewrites the storybook to give all the villains their happy endings, which could be why villains start to come out of the woodwork. Maybe Mal will only appear in flashbacks but I think if Mal is alive in the present day, it’s because Regina rewrites history.

ParticipantHow can we trust what Ingrid whispered as the final ingredient to what Rumple wants when it is revealed that she hasn’t really had the hat much longer than him?
Good point. It might be that Ingrid simply told Rumple to kill the person who had known him before becoming the dark one because she just wants Hook out of way so she can have Emma to herself. Perhaps Ingrid is playing Rumple to get what she wants.
Which raises another questions about who the mansion really belongs to and why would the hat be there?
I think that mansion belongs to the sorcerer, which is why his hat was there.
Do you think it’s a trap for Rumple perhaps?
That could be. Maybe the sorcerer hates the dark one magic, which the Blue Fairy said didn’t belong in the Enchanted Forest. Maybe the Blue Fairy is the sorcerer (or sorceress) and secretly wants to entrap Rumple in that hat to be rid of him. That way the dark one curse cannot be perpetuated indefinitely.

ParticipantI wouldn’t say that’s entirely true because Emma has been wary of her magic in the past. She’s been reluctant to embrace it. So it doesn’t really feel that far fetched to me that it would suddenly go haywire when her emotions start to boil over. Magic is emotion.
Well, no denying magic is emotion. Also I didn’t find Emma wanting to give up magic to be out of the blue, since she said repeatedly in S3b that she wanted a normal life away from all the craziness. She even seemed relieved about losing her magic when Hook’s cursed lips stole her TL magic. Yet, she also seemed happy when her magic returned when she thought of what home meant to her. That arc seemed like character development for Emma.
However, what I do find a bit contrived is this idea that Emma’s magic was on the fritz and posing a danger to others, which is a carbon copy of Elsa’s struggle with magic in Frozen. I don’t think Emma would be having this struggle with magic, nor would her parents be acting like this, if it weren’t for Frozen. While we have seen Emma struggle to control her magic, we’ve never before seen her magic be out of control. That was clearly plot driven and is clearly happening because Elsa and Frozen were introduced in S4a.

Participant“Two of the show’s most beloved relationships will be tested and changed forever
I’m guessing one of the couples is almost assuredly Rumbelle and the other either OQ or CS.
changed forever as Storybrooke says goodbye to some of their own,
I’m guessing that means some of the residents of SB will kick the bucket. Probably Happy after that not-so-subtle jive the writers included in 4×8. Maybe even some other minor character like Sidney Glass. I doubt any of the series regulars will be written off at the mid-season finale, however, since their contracts are for all of s4.
In the Enchanted Forest, things gets classically evil as we face off against an embarrassment of witches.”
I’m guessing that refers to Maleficent, Evil Queen, and possibly a third such as Ursula (she was called a sea witch in The Little Mermaid). I would include Cruella in this bunch, but she’s not a witch and doesn’t have magic in 101 Dalmatians, nor does she seem to be a resident of the Enchanted Forest. I sort of see Cruella as having come from A Land Without Magic.

ParticipantTo be perfectly honest, at the rate Rumple is currently descending evermore into darkness, I don’t see him getting a happy ending. Robert Carlyle has said he doesn’t think Rumple deserves one. I would’ve vehemently disagreed with that notion in S3, but now in S4, I don’t see him turning back to the light unless by some miracle Belle gets through to him. And even then, I still think Belle deserves far better treatment than she gets from Rumple. Being married to Rumple seems to bring out the worst in Belle. She tried to control him with his dagger and then used it to slice his neck. Who the heck is this lady? It’s almost like Rumple’s darkness is rubbing off on Belle more than her goodness is rubbing off on him, and that to me, is the sign of a toxic relationship. If two people don’t spur one another on to be better, but rather, drag each other down, then that is a bad sign. And at the end of the day, Belle cannot save Rumple (nor should she). The only thing she can do is stand up for herself, and tell Rumple to get his act together if he ever hopes to make their marriage work.

ParticipantIs Hook still being controlled by Rumple in 4b? I have a feeling that particular plot may drag on since the sorcerer’s hat may be around the entire season. Also, the sudden appearance of these new villains in town like Ursula, Cruella, and (undead?) Maleficent may be tried to this plot point, since Rumple said he would use Hook to gather up power into the sorcerer’s hat. So Hook may not be out of the woods just yet, since Rumple needs Hook’s heart to finally cleave himself from the dagger.
