ParticipantHe also said that the town is still in danger, so…read into if you will but I don’t think it means anything
I don’t think you read my rant if you think I have hope it means anything other than idle cruelty.

ParticipantRumple: “Neal is still gone.” Rumpel’s use of still makes me wonder. Yes, he’s still gone….We noticed. No need to bash us over the head with that fact, is there? The last time Zelena told Rumple there was a way he could have his son back, she said it wasn’t idle cruelty, but it sure felt like it.

ParticipantAny one know what episode is being filmed now? Maleficent could show up at the end of 4×11 or in 4×12, depending on which episode Kristen Bauer is now filming.

ParticipantI came to realize that how I viewed the outcome of Swanfire was really how I viewed the outcome of the entire show. For me it wasn’t just about the romance that Emma and Bae shared; it was more about what their independent journeys and eventual coming together again stood for. What that meant was a story of restoration, of healing, of hope and of forgiveness. It went beyond just SF too and included the healing of an entire family. It was about children and parents coming together. When Neal died, the hope for healing of the past and restoration of the future sort of died, too. The old bad patterns continue.
You can see what the story has since become and the picture isn’t pretty: more angst, more strife, Rumple’s devolution from hero in 3×11 to the darker one, more lying, cheating, concealing secrets, surface attraction without substance or consideration. It’s just a jumble of myths that don’t really fit together into one narrative anymore.
A&E might finally turn it around in the final half the last season. Who can say for sure? But at this rate, I find that doubtful. I have my days when things look brighter (like when A&E claim they are going to stick the original endgame they always planned), and then I have my moments of supreme doubt for that actually to happen. My nature is to be optimistic, but then I know it has to be grounded in reality, and the reality is what KFC has said: TV is a different sort of beast than is say a good novel. It’s not always planned and is very commercially driven. I’ve come to accept that, so yeah. That doesn’t leave much to the imagination, does it?

ParticipantI think a lot of us are just tired. Or maybe it’s that this isn’t anything to really talk about ONCE-wise. I find I have little internet in theorizing anymore because there isn’t much of a point. It’s always going to be wrong.
Yeah, this is kinda how I feel. I can come up with as many fan theories as I want about swan pendants and the like, but at the end of the day, I know it’s all probably wishful thinking. So, what’s the point, really?

ParticipantOh yes, these two. I prefer the 1980s version of the book (with Timothy Dalton) but any iteration is good. They’re classic.
There’s no beating the book itself, but I agree that the 80s version is the most faithful adaptation of the novel. And Timothy Dalton is my favorite Rochester. But there is something serenely beautiful about the 2011 film version, as well as something quite intriguing about Michael Fassbender’s portrayal as well.

ParticipantWe can’t forget Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy, both book and movie versions:
Whether or not D and J actually go get together is up in the air–it is possible. However, it’s important to note that the son(g) of ice and fire is only Jon. Jon is not ice to Dany’s fire (Bran is….). And the song of ice and fire has nothing to do with a romance between RL except in their byproduct of J (and while I do think they were in love–well I know they were) they aren’t the song of ice and fire; the song of ice and fire belongs to TPTWP and that is what JON IS. And only Jon. That’s his role in the universe–he is the great balance.
Well, I won’t deny the importance of Jon’s parentage or the role he will most likely play. But this is still just a fan theory at the end of the day. Also, I think Mel got it wrong consistently when she said AA = TPTWP; I think that TPTWP and AA are two different prophesies, and therefore potentially two different people. In short, I think Jon = AA reborn and Dany = TPTWP (as Aemon came to believe). The coming together of J and D will result in the ultimate fulfillment of prophesy.
Also, I think the title Song of Ice and Fire has multiple meanings, which includes romance as well as magic. Incidentally, Martin has said that he was influenced by Robert Frost’s poem Fire and Ice
“ I mean… Fire is love, fire is passion, fire is sexual ardor and all of these things. Ice is betrayal, ice is revenge, ice is… you know, that kind of cold inhumanity and all that stuff is being played out in the books.
So I think the title includes romance: the romance between R&L as well as the future romance between D&J. Also, D is going to be betrayed for love at some point, and I think it may be by J, so I don’t predict it being a HEA kinda story. It will be very bittersweet.

ParticipantDany is all my all time favorite but her understanding of magic is not exactly…accurate. She’s taking revenge on MMD, reiterating MMD’s words back to her.
I don’t think this is the correct reading of it, but think as you will. I think blood magic was involved.
Oh you think she’s the last of her house, do you? 😉 We may have bigger problems than Dany’s magic then…but you’re forgetting Maester Aemon at the Wall. He’s a Targ, pure bred 100% Targ. Brother to Aegon V. And this to say nothing of…something I’m guessing you haven’t put together yet…so I’ll leave it there.
Fine… Daenerys isn’t the last of her house. She thinks she is the last of her house. Master Aemon is dead at the end of book 4. Also, there is the mummer’s dragon, but he’s a fake. And yeah, hidden Targaryens everywhere.
*Whispers R+L=J*
YES. I gathered that much. LOL. Theirs is the song of ice and fire….as is D&J
