ParticipantIf the show re-centers on parents and their children, that would be a positive. If the show shifts its focus from Henry’s maternal side of the family to the paternal side of his family, then that would be a double dose of good things. I want Henry to embrace fatherhood and to break the cycle of absent fathers in his paternal side of the family. If Rumple actually takes an interest in his grandson and great-grandchild, I will be very pleased. If upon realizing he is a father, Henry realizes how much he missed out with his own dad but yet realizes he has a chance of learning more about him through Rumple, I’d be over the moon. I want Henry to bond with Rumple in a real and heartfelt way like he never seemed to do since Manhatten. If Henry has a vision of his bio dad in which they actually get to have a father-son heart-to-heart convo, then I would be a happy camper. If Hook treats Henry well as a step-father the way Hook always should have done with his first de facto step-son, Baelfire, then even that will be a positive in my book. Finally, if Regina continues to be a presence in the life of Henry and gets to be a grandma to Lucy, then that will be another win in my book.

O_O MRJ is doing a con? Well blow me down. I never thought that would happen, but I’m glad! It sounds like MRJ is exorcising a lot of demons, epspecially since Bullies Keep Out is cheering him on. He is probably doing this for his real fans, not the money, especially since all is said and done. He is a spokesperson for Bullies Keep Out, and he’s setting a good example of not letting cyber bullies call the shots. He can hopefully now show his head above water again without getting senseless hate from a certain group of people (key word being hopefully).
Like @Watcher, I do wonder if this means MRJ would be open to doing another guest appearance now on OUAT, especially since the focus will hopefully once again be on parental relationships instead of on romance. Henry and Neal need to be reunited. It’s been hinted left, right, and center how much they miss each other and how Neal and Henry never said goodbye. They need that to happen before the series ends for good for there to be real closure. Also, I’d love to see Neal meet his little brother Gideon and to see his reaction to Belle as his step-mom and to his dad being a husband. If S7 were to re-center around Henry’s paternal side of the family, I’d be all for watching it!

ParticipantI’ve been looking everywhere for an image of Dan Stevens in the beast body suit. At least he managed not to step on Emma Watson’s toes!

ParticipantNot SF-related, but still Baelfire-related — Dylan Schmid recently posted this on IG:
Dylan looks so young in that photo compared to his current profile picture. He was so good as Balefire, the reason for the entire dark curse.

ParticipantThe only actor that I can see not caring about breaking ties is Bobby. If anyone has anything to say, it might be him.
Agreed. Bobby Carlyle is the only one of the bunch who really had a lot of gravitas and decades of film-making experience before he came to OUAT. He can afford to say what he really thinks because he knows at the end of next spring, he can always have a career in movie or television industry. He was a pretty well-known actor before, and he will be after Once. He’s even more of a legend over in Scotland than he is here. Remember when Amy Manson, the actress who played Merida on OUAT, said Robert Carlyle basically warned her not to listen to the American writers about how to portray Merida? She regarded Bobby as a national icon and also took his advice not to return to the show. That’s pretty telling.
Also, Jennifer being a woman i think effects all of that. Robert can say things like they shouldn’t have killed Neal and i don’t think it will effect him and his ability to work. If Jennifer talked about her issues about the show in public, it could effect her ability to get work.
There is an icredible double standard between how actors and actresses are treated in Hollywood. With few exceptions like Judy Dench and Meryl Streep, women on average can expect to have maybe 15 – 20 years of an acting career in the limelight while men probably have 40+ years of an acting career before they’re considered “over the hill”. Emma Thompson and Robert Carlyle actually have said very interesting things about why American actresses shy away from portraying “ugly” roles because of the overwhelming sexism and ageism in Hollywood. (They gave the interviews when Emma Thompson played an ‘ugly’ woman opposite Robert Carlyle in the Scottish film Barney Thomson).
As much as JMo might like to break into production and/or direction, she hasn’t really been able to shed her pretty blonde TV show starlete stereotype yet. She’ll probably have a hard time breaking into production and continue to be typecast for the few years she has left in the limelight because Hollywood is sadly one of the most sexist industries there is. That is why I think Screwball Ninja said it was surprising that JMo wrote as much as she did in her exit PR tweet. Screwball Ninja called it “burning bridges” even. If Jennifer Morrison actually could crack the glass ceiling and manage to change her career trajectory from a TV actress to become a producer of a TV show or even a film director, it would be incredible and huge. She’s probably also realizing that she has little time left to make her mark. Being 38, JMo is pushing 40, which is Hollywood terms is a ticking time bomb. That’s probably the real reason she left Once Upon a Time; she doesn’t just want to be remembered as Emma Swan — especially the pod person Emma Jones became.

She’d toe the company line and be positive whenever asked about it in interviews. But she’s also the one who chose that wedding dress for Emma, and do we really think that JMo has no idea about the implications of that particular dress? I don’t think it’s coincidence that Emma has gradually become more haggard looking over the last couple of seasons. I think that was something that JMo was projecting, because of how she felt about the nonsense they kept giving her to say and do on camera. What was the comment on her haitus haircut photo…3 years of baggage cut off, or words to that effect?
I hadn’t read that comment by JMo about baggage. Whoa! Where is that tweet? This is an interesting read by Screwball Ninja, who thinks JMo basically gave the show the bird in coded PR speech. From Screwball’s essay:
Her exit statement said she was “creative and personally done”– that’s the PR equivalent of “I want to take off and nuke this show from orbit.” Personally, I think it’s politically unwise to burn bridges, although JMo might be at “Bridge Over the River Kwai” status at this point.

I never will because THAT was the true love story being told. *sigh*
@rumplesgirl – Exactly who is Elena of Avalor? Was she made up for a pre-school Disney show?! Or was she at least based on a Spanish language fairy tale or real-life Spanish princess? Also, ALL the COOKIES to Screwball Ninja for that epic essay rant!

ParticipantWell, Violet was from Camelot which is sorta close to EF, but maybe she and Henry aren’t the couple in question, especially considering Violet looked pretty white while Henry’s daughter, Lucy, is Latina. I’m still wondering if Lucy could be Henry’s adoptive daughter rather than his biological daughter.

ParticipantI think the first scene of 6×21 was chronologically the final scene of the entire finale. In other words, I think it was a flash forward into the more distant future than was the scene of when Lucy knocked on Henry’s door.
