Between that quote and the fact they never got a TLK, I’m taking it as A&E admitting what the actual story was intended to be. Alas the “apology” is too little, too late.
Firstly, @Phee I’ve missed you! Next, yes, I agree. I was more than a little bit satisfied when Emma and Henry shared another TLK while Emma and Hook never did. The characters kept on declaring CS as having TL though the show never gave them the final without-a-doubt all-important TLK.
The bold ones, were the one that made me connect, Baelfire as “LIGHT” that lights the night, and made me thing, mostly bc Lucy also means LIGHT.
I think Baelfire’s name was very significant — as was Neal Cassidy. You could tell the writers spent a lot of time thinking of the significance of both of his aliases. It’s such a shame they let such an original and awesome character go. But let’s hope we get a proper SF-style story with Henry and whoever Lucy’s mom is. (Could it be Violet?)

I thought Hook’s speech to David in 6×22 was pretty telling:
‘Granted, it was hardly love at first sight…All right? Emma and I were never a predestined love story, guaranteed a happy ending.’
Indeed, how very meta of Hook! Of course Emma and Hook weren’t always meant to be! Why? Because it was fate and destiny (A&E) who brought together SF and meant for them to be together.

So was the opening scene actually a flash-forward scene of Lucy and Henry?

Hopefully the poor peasants have overtaken it and have set up a democracy.
The peasants should at least demand a constitutional monarchy. Snow and David can be glorified figureheads so long as they please the people.

Of course, HookedQueen is toxic just like many other ships on this show. Hook and Regina have both double crossed each other, but Regina also helped Emma in the UW in her search to find Hook. So it’s not like they haven’t come a long way since their double-crossing days either.

I wonder what they offered to Robert that convinced him to stay. From all the actors he seemed the least interested in the show.

So no one here seems to have talked about the fact that as Emma was looking through her box of memories before facing the Black Fairy. She was looking at pictures of people she loved like Henry, and there was also glimpse of the picture she keeps of her and Neal. Probably just a nice nod to her first and true love, Neal.

With Emma gone or missing, Regina and Hook could finally get together. Remember Hooked Queen? Now there’s a blast from the past!

I don’t really get why Gideon is still trying to fight Emma since he has his heart back.
