ParticipantIf they are trying to set up another season/reboot/spinoff then having a wedding interrupted by a curse that sends everyone else to a different realm (the black fairy’s realm?) then Henry as the new savior could be a thing. But if they mean full circle as a way to end it all off, I think it’ll just be a wedding where nothing happens to really set up another villain or anything. Eh.
Maybe others are right, and the writers really will write two endings, one happy (no season 7) and one bitter-sweet (season 6). A&E did seem to have an idea for a season 7 (aka adult Henry and his kid). It just seems to depend on S6b ratings and/or ABC. Just looking at the text of season 6, it does seem like they might have been going the route of a biter-sweet ending.

Participant[–]EQRising 2 points 2 hours ago For OUAT, Can we expect any surprising twists or shocking moments by the season finale that no one saw coming? permalinkembedsavereportgive goldREPLY [–]NatalieAbrams 3 points 2 hours ago Yeah, actually, and probably before then — and something we probably should’ve seen coming. In a way, the show seems to be bringing the storytelling full circle (sorry for being cryptic!). permalinkembedsaveparentreportgive goldREPLY
“Bringing the storytelling full circle” kinda makes me think that SB will disappear again and Henry will be left to become the next Savior. Thoughts? It does sound similar to 3×11 “Going Home” — but that was a beautiful ending and would explain why we should have seen it coming. Then again “full circle” could be as simple as another wedding and TLK, which is almost exactly how the story began. But people have been speculating that for awhile, especially @rumplesgirl.

ParticipantMItD: Which storyline has been your favorite to create the costumes for? The most challenging? Emma’s “Dark Swan” costumes have been my favorite.
Castro: The pilot was my favorite. It sparkled and everything worked, even though I did it in four weeks, including 450 extras at Snow’s wedding. We also established all the principles in Fairy Tale Land, all custom made and all worked out beautifully. I personally hated the “Black Swan” series, it was hard to create and took many prototypes to get in on camera, but in the end not one of my favorites.
Didn’t most of us hate the Black Swan series, too? LOL. I love how honest Eduardo is, a welcome change from A&E being really obtuse or downright dishonest. It’s so refreshing.
PS) Notice how Eduardo used the word “series” again when talking about S5 when most Americans would have opted for the word “season” to describe Emma’s stint as the dark swan. It kinda makes me think the show might continue past season 6, even though the current story won’t (hence the reboot spoilers and new casting call).

ParticipantIf I had to guess I’d say that Henry wants to write his mom a perfect wedding and it causes everyone to sing. They tend to underplay Henry in general so I can’t see them suddenly giving him something extra meaty.
Henry had a BIG part to play in both the S4 finale and the S5 finale. He had to (a) take up the mantle of the author in s4 and course correct the AU and (b) he had to believe and make a wish on a penny to bring back magic in S5. Henry being the author and having the heart of the truest believer were both highlighted in previous season finales, so I think his special traits will be highlighted in the season 6 finale, especially given the casting call for a potentially older Henry. Also, Henry being the driving force of the season 6 finale, as he was in the pilot, makes a lot more sense to me.

Participantwith a musical episode we are working on that will be almost the end of the series
Did he mean season….? End of the season???
It depends if Eduardo was speaking British English or American English because in England, people use the word “series” they way Americans use “season”. For example, British people would say series one of Sherlock to mean season one of Sherlock. I’ve no idea what dialect of English Eduardo Castro speaks, so it’s hard to say with any certainty what he meant.

ParticipantCan you tease anything for Henry on Once Upon a Time? I feel like he gets overlooked in spoilers… –Katherine >Yes. In fact, you could say that Henry’s gig as the author kicks into overdrive, which makes some residents of Storybrooke nervous about what that means.
I think this has more to do with the season six finale than the musical episode. Perhaps Henry uses his pen to write Emma a different ending, one in which she never became the savior, in an effort to keep her from dying. But it backfires, in a major way with unintended consequences since “magic always comes with a price”. We already know that there is a casting call for a young man who sounds a lot like adult Henry. Likely, he’d be the star of S7 (assuming OUAT gets renewed), which would feature Henry and his daughter trying to right whatever wrong happened at the end of season six. However, based on the beans that Eduardo Castro spilled, it sounds like S6 might end unresolved, with each viewer being left to imagine what would have happened if S7 had aired.

ParticipantBefore I read any of the comments, I instantly thought of adult Henry and his daughter when I read the casting call descriptions. Why? Because of all the thematic parallels to season one and how they instantly reminded me of Emma and ten-year-old Henry in the pilot.
If it is his daughter then I feel it would say that in her part of the script. Personally I wouldn’t mind if it’s a sister. A bond between siblings is just as strong as a bond between parent and child. Especially if said parents are not there, so the siblings are all each other have.
If it were a sibling relationship, it might work, but would that make CS fans happy? The casting call said the girl comes from a broken home (i.e. divorce or split up). Broken isn’t generally used to describe a family in which a parent has died since the parents would still be together were it not for one of them passing away early. Instead, broken is used almost exclusively to describe when a family unit has broken up because the parents chose not to be together romantically. I don’t think that would be a happy ending CS fans are looking for when it comes to Emma and Hook.
Violet is also not that intriguing of a character but then again neither is Henry to give adult versions of them big roles in S7. Henry I could see but I feel both characters need to be connected to main cast from today and it wouldn’t work if it’s just father/daughter.
I agree that neither teenage Violet nor Henry are that interesting, but that might be due to the young actors. If the show cast good actors to play the adult versions of Henry and maybe Violet, it might make their adult versions far more compelling and central to the seventh season.
I also feel people will not take kindly to a direct rip off of S1. Yeah the parallels will be nice but they’ll just basically see this as unoriginal and a carbon copy. Making the little girl a sister at least adds a different dynamic. Rather than a genderbent S1 storyline.
I wouldn’t feel it were a direct rip off because there would still be differences. I also wouldn’t mind if adult Henry became the new male lead because Henry is the author, after all, and he has the heart of the truest believer. He is the son of the savior, and that means he has a strong lineage. Also, fathers have been largely depicted as uninvolved with their children (aside from Charming). Henry being the one to break the cycle of absent fathers would be a welcome and natural resolution to the multiple-generations of absent fathers in his paternal side of the family.

ParticipantI think this is could be a time jump, and these new “characters” are adult Henry and his daughter. That sounds a lot like a reboot to me.
I agree that this casting call sounds like it’s for adult Henry and his own daughter, rather than for adult Henry and a hypothetical half-sister. Aside from Zelena and Regina, sibling relationships aren’t as central as the parent-child relationships on this show. A&E love their parallels, and making a seventh season be about a parent and a child parallels seasons one and two quite well. Henry taking up the mantel of Emma and his daughter being the child he falls in love with would be a strong parallel to Emma and Henry in the first season, which fans widely agree was the strongest season of the entire show. The casting call said the girl comes from a broken home, which sounds very similar to how Henry grew up. Even though Henry has always had Regina, he didn’t have either of his birth parents, and he never really got to know his father that well. Assuming Violet and Henry had a child when they were young and then split up, it sounds like Henry might have potentially missed out on years with his daughter. Thematically, Henry discovering he had a daughter or only just getting to spend time with her after a decade would parallel several family themes presented like Emma having to make up for lost time with Henry.
I’m not really sure how I feel about this potential reboot. Part of me thinks that the show just really needs to end in season six. On the other hand, if the show went the route of introducing Henry and his kid, it could go a long way to returning the show to its true roots if it picked up the theme of family reunions and reconciliation that was the emotional driving force of the first few seasons of OUAT.

ParticipantLogically shouldn’t the “curse” just transfer over to Emma and make her asleep while Snow awakens?
No, it wouldn’t pass to Emma. She has her own heart, and thus the sleeping curse isn’t transferable to her. The only reason that the sleeping curse has been transferred between Snow and Charming is because they share one heart. Prior to S3b, the sleeping curse wouldn’t have passed between Snow and Charming. Before Snow split her heart to save Charming, a TLK from him would have simply awoken her from the sleeping curse (and vice versa), as it did in the pilot.

Participant*cough* Emma *cough*
Seriously, we need to see Emma and/or Henry get involved. I would love for Emma to be the one to wake up her parents with TLK. It’s the next logical progression. It’s been 4 seasons since she first called her parents Mom and Dad. Has Emma ever even said she loves them? I don’t think she has even though she does. Showing her parents that she loves them that much is something the audience needs to see, especially since Emma’s relationship with them has always been depicted as strained since she broke the first curse. Why hasn’t a daughter’s TLK even been suggested by Henry? It worked for him and his mothers, so it should work for Emma and her parents.
