ParticipantTonight Adam tweeted that the story “demanded” a character be killed off. If you ask me, how would the story “demand” Neal’s untimely demise? In my opinion, it wouldn’t in any way be justified, especially when we’re told to believe in second chances and Rumple sacrificed himself to give his son another shot at happiness.

ParticipantSo, here are a few ideas floating around in my head about the cannary. We know that:
-Hook was in the know that GOAT used the cannary as their hide out and held Regina prisoner
-Tamara shot Neal there and sent him to the EF through a bean hole
– Prince Eric works as a fisherman at the canary
– Hook and Ariel were filming there earlier in the day, followed by Hook, Smee, Emma and HenryMaybe Eric has been captured by the WWW and/or Blackbeard and is being held prisoner in the cannary to lure Ariel because they need mermaid tears (a la On Stranger Tides). Also, Maybe the WWW is the one who transformed Smee back into his human form.

ParticipantAt first we only heard about Hook, Emma and Henry sharing scenes, but then, low and behold we see Smee is there, too, and at the cannary of all places. Now, why would Smee, who was turned into a rat last I checked, be there too? And isn’t the cannary where Greg and Tamara were hiding out and where Neal was shot and sent through the bean portal….It seems like there’s more going on than meets the eye. I just wish I knew what it was.

Participant@Phee @molly You’re right! No reason to fret just yet. The more spoiler pics roll in, the more relieved I’m actually becoming. ParticipantMolly wrote:Not to be a contrarian, but I’m 99.95% certain that Neal lives. Too much of the foundation of the show would have to be altered in order to justify Neal’s death. Rumple’s entire series long arc would have to change and Rumple could never have his happy ending. I don’t care who’s on set or when. Neal lives. I will believe unless I’m shown otherwise on the show.
Thanks, Molly. I appreciate your contrariness. I agree that the writing would just have to do a total 180 if Neal were the one to go. It would be very damaging to so many characters and to the story if that were to really happen that I’d be saddened to stand by and watch.

ParticipantSo it looks like Hook, Smee, Henry and Emma were all in the same scene down by the Cannary. Why?

ParticipantWait a second, what is Smee doing there in human form? Last I checked, he was still a rat!

ParticipantI want to hold onto hope that A&E would put more stock in a person like Neal’s earnest character, his good intentions, and his dream of a second chances with his family ahead of a character whose main selling point is his good looks. I just want to believe that substance and personal integrity are what count more than surface appearances. Could A&E really be selling the message that looks count for more than a selfless heart? I just can’t buy it if that is what they’re selling now. I think it would just backfire on them if that is honestly the direction they go in. I’m going to keep on hoping that Hook isn’t going to supplant Neal as a father-figure and love interest but until I hear of more MRJ sightings I’m going to feel down about the future of this show.
