ParticipantI’m going to cast an opinion that goes against what a lot of people are saying here. Instead of talking about who I think will die, I’m going to talk about who I think won’t and why. Maybe I’m in denial, but I keep thinking about Adam saying this unmentionable spoiler has been pre-planned since the beginning of the season. I think Adam is being honest, too, since we know they did map out S3a very well. Neal’s official S3 slogan was “believe in second chances.” Well, where is Neal’s second chance? Some would argue that he got it with Rumple, but no, not really. Rumple sacrificed himself in 3×11 so that Neal could have another go at happiness, just not with him. And Neal point black said in 3×3 Emma and Henry are his second chance. It’s indisputably in the dialogue. That is why I think Neal will survive. It may be a close call, he may seemingly die, but he’ll ultimately survive. That is what I think. I don’t mean to spark a “shipping war” (save it for your own threads). I’m just saying why I think, from a story-driven perspective, it makes little sense that Neal’s death would’ve been planned when the writing suggests otherwise.

ParticipantI know that some signs would seem to indicate that MRJ is the one leaving….but I just can’t shake the feeling it’s a giant misdirection, and instead of Neal dying, it’s Hook. RG was telling me in the chat about how in Lost they filmed one season finale with three different actors shooting a death scene, in case of leaks. What if A&E, who wrote for that show, use that tactic on OUAT? Maybe I’m in denial, but I keep thinking about Adam saying this unmentionable spoiler has been pre-planned since the beginning of the season. I think Adam is being honest, too, since we know they did map out S3 pretty well. Neal’s motto was “believe in second chances” whereas Hook’s motto was “believe a pirate can be a hero.” Well, where is Neal’s second chance? Some argue that he got it with Rumple, but no, not really. Rumple sacrificed himself so that Neal could have another go at happiness, just not with him. And Neal point black said his Emma and Henry were his second chance. It’s indisputably in the dialogue. Also, Hook’s heroic arc could easily be tied up with a heroic send-off. That is what makes sense from a stroy-driven perspective. Not the other way around.

ParticipantThere is a reason I don’t believe what he is saying is 100% true. I believe there is truth mixed in it, but not completely genuine at face value. Here’s the reason why: The spoiler. The spoiler, make no mistake, is a tool. It is a very manipulative tool to keep fans anxious about their favorites pending the start of 3B so they’ll watch. The anxiety is already doing what it was supposed to do. It’s provoked conversation, which generates interest, which helps to cultivate viewers for Once’s return in March. It’s ingenious, but it’s also very manipulative. It turns people into tools, and thus makes them objects for use, rather than individuals to value.
That makes sense. While I think it WAS pre-planned you’re right that it’s being used to their full marketing advantage. In the world of Hollywood, any buzz is good buzz, but not in my opinion.

ParticipantDo you guys realize that if it wasn’t for the jersey story then we would have never ever known that not only is RH in 3×16 but a scene like that was being filmed in that episode? They would have gone off undetected if it wasn’t for the set visit.
I have real sympathy for the story of the traveling jersey since it was for a terminally ill patient. What I still struggle to come to grips with is why any fan, even an ill one, would be given access to set during the filming of a potentially major death of a main character? That doesn’t make sense to me. Why not give that person access to a less intense scene like Charming teaching Henry how to drive? Or like Snow and Emma talking about her pregnancy? It baffles me how anyone could think that funeral spoiler wouldn’t get out?

MEAN THERE’S NO OTHER REASON WHY ELSE EMMA WOULD LITERALLY *SHUT* HER HEART OFF TO ANY AND ALL SORTS OF LOVE FOR 10 YEARS IF SHE HADN’T LOVED NEAL DEEPY AND WITH ALL HER HEART. THAT’S THE POINT. SHE GAVE HER HER WHOLE, ENTIRE HEART. SO WHEN HE LEFT AND SHE DIDN’T KNOW WHY, OBVIOUSLY IT WOULD AFFECT FOR 10 YEARS INTO THE FUTURE.
THAT is why I think Hook’s kiss ultimately won’t work on Emma Swan! She gave her heart to another along time ago and never really got it back.

Gah! So lovely and simultaneously so painful! ‘What’s 28 years when you have true love?’

anonymous asked: whenever you rewatch OUAT season 1 and there’s an episode with little Baelfire and he’s just so sweet and kind and goodhearted to everyone, now do you just think while you watch those episodes, “one day that little boy with a life full of pain is going to grow up and meet someone who makes him unconditionally happy.”
and THAT, my friends, is the beauty of swanfire. that they both had terrible childhoods with abandonment issues. they aren’t perfect. they made mistakes. neal made mistakes. but they love each other. and that’s what it comes down to. even emma says it, ‘i love you. i probably always will.’
because dude, NEAL was the first person she ever loved. and though he hurt her, you better believe that he also gave her a ton too. he showed her that she was CAPABLE of love. and he learned that HE was capable of love. it’s just such a tragic love story and they have had so much pain in their lives but when it all comes down to it, they love each other, man
Even if this becomes AU I will always prefer it as Emma’s happy ending.
