Sigh, I guess it probably is her wedding even though Keck said it wasn’t………I knew it wouldn’t be Rumbelle; I just hope we get one before the series ends
Keck is supposedly leaving TV Guide; his column is getting discontinued for some reason. Maybe he got his facts wrong or gave away too much. Who knows?

While I don’t want anyone to die, if I had to predict which character would based on a story-driven perspective, I’d say Hook. He wants to be viewed as a man of honor and to recapture the good form he lost. He turned his ship around, not just for Emma, but in part, to show himself that he could change, as he told Baelfire he could in 2×22. A Hook-centric episode in which he remembers his own father and in which he remembers how he hurt young Baelfire could be his true redemption. Hook showing his son figure, Neal, that he can do right by helping him reunite with Emma and Henry would be noble. Hook’s motto was “believe a pirate can be a hero” and perhaps the way he’ll achieve that is by helping Neal get his second chance at a family. Also, Ariel is supposed to appear in 3×17. Over in the title thread, I suggested that maybe Ariel will befriend Hook in the EF or in SB and teach him what it means to put friends first, even ahead of love interests. Ariel gave up a chance to be with Eric the first time to save Snow White. Perhaps Hook will learn how to put the happiness of his good friend Neal first and stop vying for the same woman.
ETA: The title “The Jolly Roger” also has interesting connotations. It could be a double entendre: in addition to the fact that it’s the name of Hook’s ship, the sign of jolly roger is a skull and crossbones: the symbol of death. That is why you see the symbol on bottles of rat poison. Pirates adopted this symbol as a scare-tactic to let other ships know they would bring death upon them.

I’m not worried. First of all, Cora had exactly two character centric episodes in S2 and died in the second one “The Miller’s Daughter” which was written by Jane Espensen (not Adam and Eddy). Next, it’d be pretty fitting for David Goodman to write Hook’s final episode, because he wrote the first episode that Hook ever appeared in: “The Crocodile.” I think Adam and Eddy would trust David to handle the final farewell for Hook. David Goodman isn’t *just* a writer; he’s also listed in the credits as a co-executive producer. So he probably has just as much creative decision making power as Adam and Eddy.

I realize a lot of eps you can dig up some sort of family tie, I mean, this is Once, everyone’s related to each other. But to me it does seem like he focuses on big family events/parental stories.
I think that’s true and it’s why I think this is going to be a father-son dynamic for Hook and his dad.

David and Emma are both series regulars/leads and we where told this Season we would learn more about them. There is a lot we don’t know about David too.
I completely agree. However, we already know that 3×12 is Emma-centric and I’m thinking 3×13 will be David-centric. Charming is supposed to rescue Rapunzel, so I think that is going to be his backstory.

I’m going to eat crow if there isn’t some Hookriel flashback interaction during this episode. I mean, you got the title of the episode and you don’t address
Yes, Ariel must tie in somehow. Too bad we’re not revisiting Neverland at all in the second part of S3. I would’ve loved to have seen Hook encounter a friendly mermaid named Ariel in a Neverland flashback. And then there is the now sunk ship which was Hookriel. Oh well. There’s always the crack theory that Ariel is Hook’s mother, LOL, but I seriously doubt it.
Maybe Ariel will befriend Hook in the Enchanted Forest or in Storybrooke and teach him what it means to put friends first ahead of love interests. Why are we learning more about Hook, then David’s father back ground I thought we are suppose to learn more about David’s history and Emma’s this season but instead seem to back tracking in my opinion.
Because Hook is a series regular and there are still a lot of uncertainties about his backstory. For instance, we have yet to see the story he told Baelfire about his father. We don’t even know which kingdom Killian Jones and his brother came from. We also know next to nothing about his years as a pirate prior to or after meeting Milha.
And how in the name of sanity does Blackbeard fit in???
I’m starting to think Blackbeard is code for Davey Jones, the father of Killian Jones.
