While I like the idea, I don’t think Emma has any magic outside the borders of Storybrooke. In the recent Jan. 19 TV Guide spoilers, Eddy Kitsis said Emma’s magic doesn’t work in NYC:
Emma might not have memories, but she still has magic. Could she stumble upon that? Kitsis: We did see her drive out of town, so there’s no magic on that side. She is strong, but if we remember in Season 1, you have to believe in magic to see it.

ParticipantI wonder what that extra ingredient will be ? Any Ideas RG ?
The potion from the Blue Fairy. When Lacey got her real memories back, it required both the potion and her chipped cup (her talisman).

ParticipantPossibly parallels how Neal used the crystal ball to find out where Emma is? Neal uses the power of his love, Emma IS True Love Incarnate….? (maybe stretchy but I’m going to put it out there)
It is a bit of a stretch, but I’ll take it. 🙂 True love is the most powerful magic, and we saw both Emma and Neal harness that love to generate magic.
Also, I’m going to throw this out there. Dreams are highly signifiant on OUAT. Dreamcatchers are like fly paper for nightmares, only letting the good dreams through, which is linked to Baelfire having to deal with nightmares of when his father let go of his hand. You hang the dreamcatcher over your bed so that your dreams are peaceful, and Emma presenting the dreamcatcher to Neal represents her being the medium letting the good dreams through. Emma and Neal’s good dream was just what most of us take for granted: a home, a job, a family. In Manhattan, Emma discovered that Neal kept the dream catcher he and Emma had shared, just as she had kept the swan keychain. Interestingly enough, Emma and Henry’s happy memories are in NYC where Neal was most recently living. In 1×7, Mr. Gold tell Graham when he was dreaming of his wolf that “dreams are memories, memories of another life,” right before Graham got his memories back. I think that Emma’s talisman to her real memories is the dreamcatcher and finding the dreamcatcher again in 3×12 is what is going to wake her up.

ParticipantHmmmm. I guess given the arc of the second half I don’t understand why we’d get Blackbeard if he doesn’t tie into one of regulars (Hook being the most obvious choice). Unless Blackbeard, Ariel, Hook all have something to do with each other.
Bingo! I think all three of those characters have interacted before, either in the past, or they will sometime in the future. Possibly both.

ParticipantNow that is what I call foreshadowing! Emma used the dream catcher in “The Outsider” to find out about the disappearance of Archie just before Emma journeyed to Manhattan to find Nealfire.

ParticipantYAY! Wonder what she’ll be up to because it sounds like more than just a token appearance (like the Eriel reunion was). Back when the wedding spoiler came out, I figured if it was gonna be Eriel, they’d work them back into the story somehow before the finale, so it’s interesting that she’ll be back.
Yes, I hope Joanna’s appearance as Ariel will tie into the plot quite nicely. I still wonder if the “splashy” season finale wedding is Ariel and Eric’s wedding.
In the full interview she says she’s leaving for Vancouver in 5 days, so I guess that means she’s gonna be in 317. As if I wasn’t already impatient about getting the title for that ep.
Hurray! The more I get to see of Ariel, the better!
Wonder if Blackbeard is gonna be for 317 and mermaids will be tied into his appearance somehow?
Hmm! Interesting! Maybe. I just re-watched POTC 4 “On Stranger Tides” (in which Blackbeard actually plays a signifiant role), and Ariel really reminds me of the one mermaid, Syrena, who gave her tear after she thought the missionary she loved had died. Like Ariel, she was compassionate and not like her murderous sister mermaids.

Participant“Ariel’s coming back, and I may have found my prince charming, but I think that you might need a little naïve mermaid to come back in town, maybe stir up some business.”
Cryptic! I wonder if she means her ability to travel between worlds is going to come in handy again like it did in 3×7.

ParticipantIt’ll be good to have her back. (btw: where did Ariel GO when the Curse hit? Did we figure that out?)
Even if Ariel ended up back in NL after “Going Home” then she could still swim to EF. She’s a mermaid, and we learned mermaids can swim between worlds.

ParticipantThe last time I saw Auseillo asked about it (maybe two-ish weeks ago in his Tuesday spoiler article) he said it hadn’t come to pass yet.
Very interesting!
