ParticipantAgreed. The groundwork has been laid for SF from the very start of the show. Even if we didn’t know it back then, from the getgo, they were building this story about the son that Rumple lost and how he needed the Curse in order to find him, but he wouldn’t be able to find him without the Curse breaking, and that was Emma’s part to play, and in the midst of it all, these two people were drawn together and fell in love. Their relationship is an extension of the core of the show, and I just do not believe that Kitswitz would alter something so important, just to bow to fan pressure. Hook is one of several obstacles to have been thrown at SF. That’s how TV shows work, you throw obstacles at the OTP to torture the fans by drawing out the culmination of their love story. Even if SF aren’t officially back together by season’s end, I really do think they’ll have made some great strides by then.
Exactly! Along with Snow and Charming, Emma and Baelfire were the originally planned couple from the pilot. Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Eddy and Adam all knew who Baelfire would be in the life of Emma Swan. Having said that, Adam and Eddy did consider changing who Henry’s father would be, because by then, some fans had already predicted his true identity to be Baelfire. The time to change the direction of the writing would have been before that reveal, but by that point in time, Adam and Eddy were so in love with their own creation that they kept it as they always intended it to be. That is a huge indicaiton that Adam and Eddy are the type to stick with their own creative storytelling vision on the big points, namely that Emma and Neal still love each other, despite all of the pain they’ve been through. Yet, Adam and Eddy were the ones who wrote 3×11 and therefore the one who wrote Neal’s parting words to Emma and Henry. “This isn’t over. I will see both of you again.” Now, let’s see, I wonder why exactly they chose those words. Maybe because it really isn’t over for Emma and Neal (despite what CS fans claim)?

ParticipantI do not think Rumple died … he is just sucked into Oz … now he has to get HOME to BELLE
I think Rumple could’ve gone to Oz, too. Also, I wouldn’t be surprised if he turns out to be the wizard. In fact, if Rumple’s dark curse has been “undone” then he might even have to fake being a wizard to get home. However, I’m now endorsing the theory that Christopher Gorham’s character is the Wizard of Oz, so I have two possible, yet competing theories in my head now.

ParticipantJust a friendly reminder that we’ve yet to see the reappearance of the swan pendant (the symbol of Emma Swan herself). Emma didn’t just lose her memory; she lost a part of herself when she lost Neal.
#HopeforSwanFire
Reminds me of that game Gollum played with Bilbo in the dark mines. Bilbo’s final question: “What have I got in my pocket?”
The most popular SF theory is that Neal has the swan pendant in his pocket! How epic would it be if Neal is the one to give Emma back the part of herself she was missing? First, Emma sees the SF dreamcatcher again, then she drinks he potion, then she finds Neal, and Neal gives her back the pendant! Everything connected to SF are Emma’s talismans, because they connect her to her true self: her heart.
The official promo for Neal’s character is belief if second chances. Neal believes his second chance is with his son and Emma; Rumple even scarified himself to help ensure his son’s second chance at happiness become a reality! And Emma’s motto is belief that she can find her way home! Well, Emma’s always believed her home was with Neal (and now Henry); Emma’s already gone home to NYC, which was never her home, but most recently was Neal’s home! Hmmmmm…."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

ParticipantI love you guys. Outside of this thread I feel it’s lonely being a SF fan. I do admit that I’m scared of Adam and Eddy caving to fanservice, and the ABC monkeys, and not following their own story vision. It’s happened on other shows. The minute fans start running a show it ruins it. Just look at the train wreck Glee became after the first season. Except me. All my ideas are brilliant and I should be running the plot of this show.
It’s mutual!
I’m not afraid of CS hype. It was bound to happen when it comes to the ABC promo department, because that is the sort of effect that a scalawag, handsome devil has on some women (jut see the fan reaction to Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow for evidence). Yet, for all of Jack Sparrow’s charms, earnest Will Turner was the love of Elizabeth Swan’s life. It’s not always enough to be good looking. As Cora would say, “Your pretty face buys you a lot, but not my time.” To me, Hook was always meant to be the eye candy of the show to draw in fan viewers and to replace August and Graham. Yet, he was never going to compete with Neal, not really, because Henry is the love of Emma’s life and Hook has shown himself to be a horrible father figure. That is the way it’s been written from the start. Just look at what Eddy Kitsis has previously said on the matter:
Going off the same conversation, Kitsis was very light-hearted with his answer regarding a possible CaptainSwan connection. He joked, I think it’s hard to deny the handsomeness of Hook, and I think the real question is, is he going to loose the guy-liner in storybook? And the answer is no.” On a slightly more serious note, Kitsis explains that there are going to be quite a few men in her life this season. “Emma is going to find herself with a few choices this season and I think there are the people that are right for you, and there are the people that are wrong for, and then there are the people that you just choose and I think Emma is going to face all those things,” Kitsis said.
Emma is quite the popular gal, and it seems that she has a wide range of handsome men coming into play in the second half of season two. But the one that will always be No. 1 is Henry. Kitsis once again tackles the subject of Emma’s suitors saying, “I think what’s interesting is the love of Emma’s life last year was Henry and this year we actually met the one person that she has fallen in love with [Neal]. Hook is obviously eye candy. I don’t know if she would stare at him and think he would be a great father to Henry but he might be fun in Vegas.”
Well, Neverland was Vegas. That kiss had to happen to make it look like Emma was considering getting lost in the moment. Yet, now that we’re going back to reality, I predict we’re going to see Emma now thinking about the type of man who’d be the best dad for her son, and that man ultimately is Neal, Henry’s dad. Emma has yet to learn the full truth about Hook being the quasi step-dad of Baelfire, whom he let go and be captured by the most disturbing villain we’ve ever met on this show. Hook is too focused on himself that he’s now trying to put his own idea of a happy ending with Emma ahead of the happiness of his supposed son figure. Hook is still drinking himself into oblivion and making drunken passes at other women in front of Emma. Hook isn’t exactly proving himself to be good father and husband material.

ParticipantWait. What mythic island did we just leave? Oh right. Neverland. So in other words: almost home.
Yep.
Plus, this still needs to happen, and believe me, it will. Look at those smiles on their faces. That is the look of love, playful banter and cuteness personified.
Are you trying to ask me on a date?

ParticipantI agree. It was one of my favorite moments too. He used his love to find her. I mean come on! How is that not solid proof of endgame?!
Sometimes people will refuse to see what’s directly in front of them, even if it’s as obvious as the noses on their faces. Now that we’re heading to Oz, I wonder if Emma might likewise use the crystal ball to find out that Neal is in Oz. It would be a most excellent end-gamey type parallel. 🙂
Maybe it’s time we retire the Bonnie and Clyde act, settle down.

ParticipantDon’t think of a place, think of her. Of Emma. And more than that, how you feel about her.
This might’ve been my favorite moment of 3×3 when Neal stepped up, faced his fear of magic, and allowed his feelings of love for Emma, not Henry, to direct him to NL.

ParticipantMy main sticking point is his age, and my assumption that they’ll still have the Wizard leaving Oz around the same time Dorothy did. The only reason she used the slippers is because she missed the Wizard’s balloon. So if the Wizard had been back in our world for that length of time, he wouldn’t be Gorham’s age. My assumption about how and when and even if the Wizard left Oz might be way off though, and if so, then maybe Gorham could be the Wizard. As of right now, I’d say if he’s directly connected to the Wizard in any way, he might be the Wizard’s son?
It’s possible that the WOZ found a way to travel between our world and Oz more than once (i.e. has made many return trips). If so, then his aging might have been halted over the last few decades, since I think the curse froze all the lands with magic, if I’m not mistkaen.
