ParticipantI have a new headcanon forming for the second half of S3:
What we know so far:
– Chris Gorham’s character is important in the life of Emma Swan
– His character will first appear in OUR WORLD in 3×12
– We had a spoiler from TV Guide that the Wizard of Oz shall be revealed in S3
– The Wicked Witch of the West is the “big bad” of the second half of S3 and 3×16 is “It’s Not Easy Being Green” plus we’re supposed to find out how the WWW turned green
– There is going to be a major power struggle between the WWW and Regina
– There are going to be some surprises along the Yellow Brick Road
– Charming is going to rescue Rapunzel
– Snow&Charming’s baby and Aurora&Philip’s baby are someone connected.
– Wedding bells will be ringing for a couple by the season 3 finaleMy conclusion? The Yellow Brick Road leads Emma to OZ after the Wizard comes looking for her. But how does Emma get there since Jefferson’s hat was destroyed? Chris Gorham’s character is the Wizard of Oz. He is an ally of the Blue Fairy (aka Glinda the Good Witch). The WWW (aka the Black Fairy) has re-cast the dark curse and brought nearly everyone back to SB. Chris Gorham’s character (aka the Wizard) needs Emma and Henry to return SB to help Regina combat the power of the WWW because Emma and Regina are most powerful when they collaborate.
Notably Rumple is absent from SB, since he was transported to Oz after he destroyed the dark one dagger and undid his curse via his self-sacrifice. Belle and Neal have volunteered to travel to OZ to save him. Neal, who was unaffected by the original dark curse, remains unaffected by this new curse the WWW casts, so he sets off early to Oz in search of his Papa. Knowing Emma needs to be reawakened, Neal lets Hook travel to NYC, believing Emma has made her choice. Little does Neal know that Hook’s kiss won’t work on Emma, not because she doesn’t remember Hook, but because Emma really loves Neal, NOT Hook.
At the same time, we know that Emma’s parents are in danger. I’m thinking that this is where the new Snowing baby, along with Aurora and Philip’s baby come into play. Both of those babies are TRUE LOVE BABIES who, like Emma, could be capable of deep magic which the WWW needs to harness. So like Neal, Emma wants to travel to Oz to save her parents, her new sibling, and Aurora/Philip’s baby. Sidenote: I think as the wizard of Oz, Chris Gorham’s character is connected to Rapunzel, who is locked in a tower in Oz after the WWW kidnapped her, too. Charming will end up in Oz trying to save Rapunzel too.
Anyway, Emma, Hook and Belle decide to follow after Neal to get Rumple, Snow, Charming and the new snowflake baby back. Maybe Regina goes too, since she has a deep rivalry with the WWW. (Perhaps Henry remains behind with Granny and Ruby). In order to travel to Oz, Emma, wearing the ruby slippers, thinks to herself “There’s no place like HOME,” which is how Emma ends up in Oz in search of NEAL, who is her home. Just a theory. 🙂

ParticipantI posted this theory in the “Who’s Filming Now Thread Part 3” but I’m re-posting here, since it’s highly relevant.
I’m also adding an interesting mash-up of stories/fairytales. I think that Chris’ character could be the Wizard of Oz and connected to Rapunzel. Perhaps Rapuzel is a prisoner in Oz, after the WWW kidnapped her. Maybe Rapunzel is locked in a tower in the Emerald City. And the Wizard of Oz (aka Chris Gorham) somehow needs EMMA to help Regina combat the growing power of the WWW.
ETA: I have an add-on theory to go with the idea that Chris Gorham’s character is the WoZ. Hook said that Emma’s family is in danger. Perhaps Snow and Charming sent the WoZ to help Emma save them, and instructed her to give Emma a kiss on the forehead from them. We’ve only ever seen Charming and Snow kiss Emma on the forehead before.

ParticipantJust noticed how much Gorham’s smile reminds me of James Franco’s. Franco did play the WofOz in Oz: The Great and Powerful.
I’m officially endorsing the theory that Chris Gorhams’ character is the Wizard of Oz!

ParticipantIf he is then I think the theory that he’s the Wizard might be VERY true

ParticipantCause happy endings start with HOPE.
YES! Snow was clearly talking in reference about Emma’s feelings for NEAL.
Snow: You don’t want to open yourself to the hope that he’s [Neal] is alive but you should.
Emma: Why?
Snow: Because you deserve a happy ending Emma and happy endings always start with hope.Once Upon A Time – Rumbelle & Swan Fire – Arms

ParticipantJust a reminder that THIS is coming
Yes! Just as the second half of S2 was heavily pro-SF, so I predict the second part of S3 will begin to build up SF again in a very clear, indisputable way.
