ParticipantHere is a fan-manip image of what could’ve and should’ve been if only PP hadn’t gotten in the way. It’s so painful, because we all know Emma was headed to see Neal, but got diverted by the Blue Fairy’s untimely demise.
This worries me because there is really no one I could see paired with Hook now. Ariel has Eric, Regina will have Robin. What he did to Tink was vile so that basically rules out any possible future relationship for me, but sadly I think they could still pair Neal with Tink if they wanted to.
Who says Hook has to end up with anybody? As much as I was really beginning to like the idea Tinkerbell and Hook finding a love connection, because it’s pretty clear in my mind they share a romantic past, I now wonder if Hook even deserves the love of a good woman. Tink said it would be beneath her dignity to go slumming with Hook, and I believe it’s also beneath Emma’s dignity to lower her standards for a cad like Hook. Any hope I had for Hook finding his redemption at the start of S3 has been put on the back burner until further notice. As far as Hook is concerned, I’m now resigned to see him revert to his pirating ways until some future date when he finally realizes how other people really see him: not as a man of honor but as a bit of a scoundrel. And it’s not like it’s an unfair judgement, since Hook pretty much plays the part of a playboy pirate. He’s used to charming the ladies, but this time it hasn’t worked with Tink. If Emma falls for this, then I’m thinking she must either be cursed, blinded by his overtures of trying to impress her, her own fear of doing the hard thing of choosing Neal, or some combination of all those options.
Yes the idea of CaptainFairy had potential. History between them to draw from that could have lead to an interesting present day connection but alas I don’t think I’d wish this version of Hook on any woman.
Yeah, sadly I have to agree. I don’t think Hook is emotionally mature enough for any woman, let alone as one as deserving as Tinkerbell or Emma. Hook needs to have some real and lasting character development, just as Regina has been experiencing in S3. Yet, I no longer would wish Hook for Regina either, because at this point in time, Regina has surpassed Hook on her road to redemption. Plus, we know that Regina in on the up and up to greater things with Robin Hood. I think what Hook needs some a positive, male influence with someone like Charming and Neal, which is why it’s so sad that Emma has had to come between them. What Hook needs is to hang with the bros and learn how to treat a woman with class, dignity, respect, and honor, not for personal gain, but because it’s the right thing to do.
Rewatching the scene where Emma said that her magic comes with a price and that she doesn’t have the luxury of having moments. Neal having to give her up was the price. I really hope she has come to the realization that it wasn’t a simple case of Neal abandoning her; that there was greater forces of fate and destiny at play.
I think that the question of why Neal left her in prison will be re-examined. In the TV Guide Lightning Round 10, A&E confirmed that this issue will be dealt with again. So, it’s a chance for Emma to understand that forces beyond either of their control were at work here. It might also give Emma a renewed sense of sympathy for how difficult a situation it was for Neal and how much he didn’t want to let her go but felt he had to let her fulfill her destiny to save her family from a horrible curse his dad had created to locate him. We’re also supposed to see August again, which means we’ll probably get the full story this time of who called the cops and what else August told Neal. Adam said via twitter that ‘bad things’ would’ve happened had Neal not left Emma, so we’ll almost certainly see what stories will be told.

ParticipantIn the initial reactions podcast, Jeremy and Daniel raised the possibility that the new curse could match people together who otherwise aren’t right for each other. Going off of that theory, it’s possible Emma will now have a cursed persona who is involved with Hook, which is why they’re in NYC in 3×12 and she’s wearing those uncharacteristically ugly plaid pants.

ParticipantDave Mathews as doctor and Joy Castro as nurse.
Anyone else notice these are the same actors who played the doctor and the nurse in 3×1? Looks like we’ll be revisiting Henrys’ birth!
Thank you HE for posting. I am going to be MIA for a few days since my laptop is in the shop I’ll miss you all
We’ll miss you too, RG!
I also noticed that Smee is listed. I guess that likely means the flashback will be of Neverland, and will focus on Hook and Tink.
I hope so! For all we saw of Neverland, we saw very little backstory for Hook, Tink, the Darlings, or even Peter Pan’s time in NL, for that matter.

ParticipantDoes anybody know if Colin O’Donoghue is still filming? No news lately, and it kind of has me bummed out.
I haven’t heard about anyone filming lately except for the people who were in SB in S1 (e.g. Emma, Henry, Regina, Dr. Whale, Blue Fairy, Granny, Archie, etc), which makes me think 3×13 might have flashback scenes to before the curse being broken (though I’m not certain how they’d pull that off since Jared Gilmore is looking older by the day. He’s 13 after all, and certainly far older looking than 10).

ParticipantWith the Blue Fairy seeming to be dead, I wonder if the power of her spells will be reversed. For example, will Pinocchio turn back into August? Will Jiminy now become a cricket again? We saw that after Medussa destroyed herself, her victims were restored from their stone form to their human form.

ParticipantI actually stopped reading comments for most of the OUAT online reviews because the people were annoying but I saw a few last night that expressed sadness for Emma & Neal not getting their chance to talk so maybe the tide is changing and the Neal hate is going to die down. I can hope, right?!
Yes, SwanFire is all about HOPE! Hope for home, family, and true love to be a reality in Emma and Neal’s lives! SF is bigger than just romantic love, since it’s about them finding the home they were always seeking in one another. Two lost children finding their way to their parents, to their son and to each other.

ParticipantI won’t lie but last night’s episode left me feeling very deflated and the promo for next week didn’t make feel much better. But I’m still holding onto the belief that better things will come our way. There is always hope right?
Interesting, because last night’s episode left me feeling cautiously optimistic for the future of SF, and probably for the reasons your boyfriend so astutely pointed out. Hook is only a temporary obstacle for Emma and Neal to overcome, in a way that is similar to how Tamara was one in season 2. Keep the hope alive, since we know that Emma and Neal love each other and probably always will.
As he put it ‘everyone knows the main couple can’t just get back together straight away, where is fun it that? It’s a TV show after all.’
Exactly! Hook is Emma’s Tamara in the sense that she’s taking the easy way out by pursuing things with Hook instead of Neal, the man she really loves but is afraid of losing again. Just as Neal chose to let his fear of rejection stand in the way of pursuing his true love, Emma, so is Emma letting fear of tragically losing Neal again stand in the way of her love for Neal. She even said to her parents that she’s the savior, and that she doesn’t get the luxury of a happy ending, and I think if and when she decides to date Hook (as it looks increasingly likely she will) then I think it’s merely as a diversion from letting herself become vulnerable with Neal, since she’s scared that if she does open her heart to him again, she might get hurt like last time, only worse. She’s lost Neal so many times, that she said it’d be easier not to face that past again. Right now, I believe Emma is wrestling with following her heart’s desire with Neal on the one hand but weighing up those positives with the huge negative of possibly being hurt. Choosing Hook is the EASY way out, just as it was for Neal to pursue Tamara instead of pursuing Emma after she broke the curse. Yet, it turned out to be the biggest regret of Neal’s life. I’m betting that Hook might just turn into one of Emma’s biggest regrets if it ends up costing her another chance with Neal. However, I expect Neal would always be waiting in the wings for Emma, so that when she realizes Hook isn’t’ the one for her, she’ll see all the more clearly the true love that Neal gives to her freely, no questions asked.

ParticipantHere is a precious thing, a smile from Emma for Neal:
Are you trying to ask me on a date?
Emma and Neal’s dynamic is so cute, and it reminds me of the shyness of young love that Neal and Emma had when they first met.

ParticipantI agree. And it goes against what he said in 307 about winning her heart without any tricks.
Yes. “A tree is known by its fruits” and in my estimation, a man who claims to behave one way but acts another is a hypocrite. The sad part is that Hook really seems to think his actions are in some way honorable. I think Phee is correct in her assessment that Hook has been a pirate for so long that he doesn’t even fully realize how far off the mark he is. Or if he does, then all the more shame since that would mean he’s not just acting out of a need for attention but would be intentionally trying to play women off of each other for the sick enjoyment of it. It’s such a pity, since Hook had the potential to re-establish the “bro code” with Nealfire and salvage their father-son dynamic, but instead chose to follow his insistent need to be affirmed by a woman (any woman it would seem), over a potentially great friendship with Nealfire.
As for Hook, sigh. Actually it was enjoyable to see a glimpse of the old Hook, since the handling of Neverland Hook was mostly a fail, IMO. I’m sure Hook’s action in the episode will try and be defended it but spin it how you want he did not come out well of this episode. Saying he’ll back off but doing the opposite in reality, trying to make Emma jealous by using Tink. He may say he’s in it for the long haul but I don’t think he knows how to do that. A quickie in the bathroom with Tink is certainly not the best way to go about it (although they do have great chemistry).
Welcome to the SF forum! And I agree about Hook saying one thing but doing another, since that is the epitome of hypocrisy. He’s so used to getting a woman’s attention that he’s not sure quite what to do now that both Emma AND Tink have given him the brush-off. New flash, women don’t liked to be played off of one another or used to arouse jealousy in another woman!
On a happier note, here is a pretty SF fan-video:
