For some reason, the first mythical creature that came to mind when I read the phrase “stop cold in her tracks” is a yeti, as in the abominable snowman. Cold. Tracks. Big foot. But that’s probably way off the mark.

Here are an image with the words written on MM’s wall. The letters ‘PAST’ spell “paste” not “pasta.”

    Isn’t that the loft? MM’s loft…?

Yes, I’m almost certain it’s MM’s loft. Does that mean they’re still filming in SB?

Yet another lovely SF family thing from Tumblr:

I wish this scene had been between Neal and Henry, not Peter Pan, but the feelings and promises from Neal were still very genuine and full of paternal love. Neal is determined to be there for his boy. As Neal said in 3×3, all he has are his boy and Emma (and now his dad since reconciling in 3×9). Neal even said in 3×3 that this is his second chance to do it right, and he’s never going to stop fighting for Emma, just as he promises never leave Henry. I just really want Neal to get his second chance at forming a family with his boy, Emma and now Rumbelle! Family means everything to Emma and Neal since they were without one growing up. I really hope that whatever happens at the end of 3×11 won’t be permanent and that Emma and Henry aren’t stranded for long in NYC with the one-handed pirate with a drinking problem. I would hate it if Neal were torn apart from his boy and Emma again right after he fought so hard to get to them. *Repeat to self: It’s not what you think, it’s not what you think *

Another pretty little thing from Tumblr. I love how familial love so centrally features in the SF dynamic. Neal and Emma point each other in the right direction by steering each other towards family reconciliation. Neal let Emma go, not because he didn’t love her, but to get her home to her parents, and Emma prompts Neal to make peace with his dad. Emma and Neal both resonated with Rumple’s speech to Belle in 2×16 when he said she makes him want to go back to the best version of himself, because both Neal and Emma make each other want to return to that time when they were young and dreamt of being a family together. And now they have Henry who forever binds them.

Emma recognizes the longing that Neal has to reconcile with his father because it’s the same exact longing that Emma has to be reconciled with her own parents. Both Neal and Emma have been lost children, but both are now found. They are learning to forgive their parents, and in so doing, moving past their own abandonment issues and together forging a healthy future together for the sake of their son, Henry. They are learning to find forgiveness, peace, trust, and dare I say love within their complicated family dynamic with Snow, Charming, Rumple, Henry, Belle and even Regina! The trio of parents can work together for Henry’s sake, as we saw Regina, Emma and Neal do to save their son. Both sets of parents, Snowing and Rumple (and I’m betting Belle), see the obvious love connection that Neal and Emma have for one another. Rumple said to both Emma and Neal that they still have feelings for one another, and Snow compared the love Emma has for Neal to the love she has for Charming. We haven’t really seen much if any interaction between Charming and Neal, but I’m betting when they do finally get a chance to talk that they’ll discover they have a lot in common since both men gave Emma up so that she could fulfill her destiny and both men love Emma a tremendous amount as Emma’s father and as the father of Emma’s child.

At the end of the day, no two people can live completely in isolation, which is how it would be if Emma settled for Hook. In contact to Bae, who makes Emma want to honor her mother and father, Hook persistantly tries to isolate Emma from her family dynamic, and it’s no wonder because Hook knows they’d disapprove. The only chance Hook has with Emma is if he can cut her off from her family. Hook is an outsider, even more than Regina, because Regina is connected to the family dynamic by her love for Henry. While he’s helped the group in season 3 to win Emma’s favor, he’s also previously antagonized Rumple, Baelfire, Belle, Snow, David, Emma, and Regina by his selfish actions. He seduced another man’s wife, and in so doing took a mother away from her small child (though I fault Milha equally for this). Hook then used that same boy to find out how to kill his dad and then handed over that same boy to be Peter Pan’s prisoner. Hook then tried to use Belle to wheedle information out of Belle and then would’ve killed her out of vengeance for her loyalty to Rumple had Regina not intervened. Hook has left Emma and Snow for dead in the EF, which would have left Henry without his birth mother and grandmother had Rumple’s plan not worked. Hook has antagonized David by assaulting him and knocking him unconscious in his fervor to get his hook back and hunt down Rumple. Hook knocked back Emma in the lobby of Neal’s apartment in his frenzy to kill Rumple, thereby taking Bae’s dad away from him as soon as he got him back. Hook’s alliance with Cora allowed her to return to SB and nearly kill all of Henry’s birth family. Hook’s alliance with GOAT nearly got Regina killed at the torturing device of Owen and then nearly got everyone in the town blown up, which resulted in Henry being kidnapped. So, yeah, little wonder that Hook feels the need to cut Emma off from those who love and support her, since he basically has bad blood with everyone else Emma is connected to, and Emma would have to be blinded not to see truth from lies.

    A pretty thing! Source: Tumblr

Because was really kind, beautiful and poetic see Emma and Neal, showing love and a light to forgiveness to their parents. At the same moment.

    Another pretty thing from Tumblr:

#i bet emma’s so happy that neal found his father as well #because they used to be the two lost children who were abandoned #and now she has her parents #and he has his dad back #and they have their son #and they aren’t alone anymore #and that’s probably all they ever wanted for each other

    *sigh*

Alright this was a much better Rumple and Son episode than SwanFire and as they are my two favorite characters, I’ll take it. But…*sigh* yeah. Someone. Anyone. Talk to me about the positives.

Did you not see the look on Emma’s face when Neal reunited with Rumple? Neal has forgiven his father for abandoning him and said he came back for him. Emma will learn to forgive Neal for leaving her (if she hasn’t already done so) and we’ve seen Neal come back for her a few times now (e.g. in 2×14 when Neal returned to his apartment to protect Emma from his dad and in 3×3 he returned to NL for Emma and Henry because they’re his second chance). Neal getting a second chance with his dad and hugging him brought a huge smile to Emma’s face, (a smile that has been missing for all of S3). Also, Emma witnessing Neal hugging Rumple made her in turn hug her own parents. Both Emma and Neal, who were both de facto orphans who felt abandoned, both of them found their parents again! Emma and Neal are finally reunited with their families. If that isn’t hope for the Swanfire family, I don’t know what else is!

My assumption is that he only has NL-Belief magic. He wants something, he believes it into existence.

I think that is the case for both Malcolm/PP and Henry. As far as we know, Henry is not inherently magical in any land except for NL, where imagination runs wild. Henry being the truest believer is what makes him magical, as it did for Malcolm when he transformed into Peter Pan. Yet, as far as we know, Malcolm was not inherently magical either when he was just a drunken, deadbeat dad in EF.

They try to release him across the town barrier to render him powerless but he reveals the switch, but do they believe (I sense another leap of faith)

As for trying to push Peter Pan over the town line, I fail to see how that would erase his memories, since neither PP nor Henry were ever cursed. Unless a new curse has been activated ….
