ParticipantAt least we know from the 2nd sneak peek that this division between them and Rumple is short-lived, and they do become re-aligned in some way.
Yes, somehow he manages to convince all of them otherwise, though I’m sure they’re still suspicious.
I just want to cuddle Rumple. How’s he going to prove himself? Emma’s superpower?
Possibly. Emma is pretty good at detecting lies when she’s not emotionally worked up. But right now, she’s in protective mommy mode and therefore her emotions are on over-drive.

ParticipantAlso, has everyone forgotten that Rumple is immortal? Do they really think a bunch of arrows and swords could ever prevent Rumple from killing Henry? You can kill him except with his dagger. If Rumple had wanted to kill Henry, he would have down so by now using magic.

ParticipantThanks Matt! Oh boy, I knew the prophesy and attempted murder of Henry would come back to bite Rumple in the butt. So, looks like Neal’s reaction not to trust his dad is shared by everyone else. I wonder how Rumple convinces them otherwise he doesn’t want to harm Henry.

ParticipantMy favorite scenes are probably the scenes of Alice using the dust to find Cyrus and Cyrus getting free. I didn’t care for much of the Red Queen’s story at all. Even before she betrayed Will, she was aloof and unsympathetic.

ParticipantThe problem with some people is that they expected sweet teenage Bae to grow up into sweet adult Bae. Just think all of your own life experiences. Are you the same type of person? I know I’m not. I’m not completely different, but my 14 year old self was quite different in wants and desires, and even personality, from my thirty-something self. And that was just the result of normal life experiences.
Transfer that to the fictional world and Bae being bombarded with otherworldly experiences on top of being the very human situation of being abandoned by his parents. I’m shocked he’s as well adjusted as he is. He’s lost, at a young age, literally everyone he’s ever cared about and who has cared about him. By the time he gets out of Neverland, it’s no longer unthinkable that sweet little Bae has forever been changed and damaged. And we don’t even know what he’s gone through since leaving Neverland. I suspect my heart will break even more. Fast-forward to his time with Emma and it makes their situation even more heartbreaking for both parties. I see Neal as just as much a victim in all this as Emma is.
All excellent points. I think Neal is amazing simply to have retained his sweetness of spirit, with a bit of a snarky sense of humor, despite the crapy hand the fate has felt him. He’s had to roll with the punches simply to survive, let alone try to perfect his character. True, he may not be the same naive, trusting Baelfire who blindly trusted a sneaky Blue Fairy, but then again he still has the core elements that make Baelfire such a wonderful character: a good heart, a desire to put others first, a determination to try to do the right things, even when the “right” choice is less than clear, and to sacrifice himself. I certainly am not the same person I was even a decade ago, but the core parts of my personality haven’t drastically changed. While my taste in music, my thinking about the world, and my aspirations have changed, I still have a slightly off-beat sense of humor, I still value family, and I’m still a romantic at heart versus a cynic. There are just some foundational elements that make up a persons’s character, and if Bae has managed to hold onto hope of second chance despite all the horrible things life has dealt him (e.g. abandonment issues galore, spending 100 years with a deranged teenager, having to scrape by to survive, heartache, issues of self-worth etc..) then I’d say Neal has actually turned out alright despite everything.
If anyone ever had a good reason to lash out and seek revenge it’s Baelfire, but he didn’t. He may have had to lay low to keep his father and/or PP from finding him, he may have had to steal a car to live in, but he’s never been a villain or someone who only thinks of himself. He gave all the money he had ($20K) to Emma and his car (i.e. his home he was living in), to give her a fresh start whereas he had to begin again with nothing. He is not a man who ever wishes pain on others, but sadly, hasn’t always been able to prevent it from happening. I think Neal is the kind of guy who thinks of others first and wishes he could do more to make sure others didn’t have to suffer. The way he tried so hard to save the Darling children and then for Henry are great examples of that characteristic.

ParticipantAnyone else think that Alice’s homecoming is the past? right before she gets locked in the asylum?
Yup…I think it was pre-Curse.

ParticipantHere are those photos of Emma and Hook:
What is Hook holding in his hand? Looks like a purple glass, perhaps containing a potion of some kind? Also, I noticed that Hook’s facial expression looks anxious. I wonder if they’re supposed to be in NYC, given the title of 3×12. And if so, why exactly is Hook dressed like a pirate still? Supposedly, Belle is there too, plus another unidentified character (possibly Rumple). It seems like an odd grouping, and the 4 of them would be in NYC without Neal, who has an apartment there. Do you think they’re searching for Neal? Has he gone missing again? Knowing Neal’s luck, who knows?
YVRS also reports “Once” was shooting at Gastown’s Koret Lofts. I did a quick search and here is what the outside of the Koret Lofts looks like:
I’m almost certain that the building in “Manhattan” where Neal’s apartment is located. If so, that means 4 actors were filming there on Tuesday, Nov. 12, in downtown Vancouver with the intent of it looking like NYC. Just did a quick search, and the neighborhood known as Gastown is indeed the same place that is meant to be Neal’s neighborhood in “Manhattan.” You can see pics from the filming of 2×14 here."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. ParticipantI think it’s easier to bury your past in the sand than it is to deal with it. Emma said she tried to bury her old feelings, but they just came rushing back when she thought she’d lost Neal a second time. Emma is scared to death of losing Neal yet again now that she knows he’s alive. Yet, as long as Emma continues not to deal with her fears, those old feelings, misconceptions, and hurt will continue to resurface anytime a tragedy happens. That would just be avoidance, not growth. What if Emma dated Hook, in an attempt to forget about her pain, but then things didn’t work out with him either and they broke up? Well, because Emma didn’t do her homework of exploring her old relationship, she might be doomed to repeat mistakes of keeping men at arms’ length because she never found healing. But then, that’s not real growth then is it? Growth comes when we face adversity, when we examine our own history under a microscope to understand why we are the way we are, and then learn overcome our own nasty habits. While it may hurt, it may be hard, it may take time, learning to face one’s past can often help one to actually advance forward.

ParticipantI like the line: “I know she won’t take that train.” However, I don’t think we can put too much stock into the lyrics because a “fish lady” is just another word for a prostitute, who stereotypically wears fish-net stockings. So, while titles of songs might inspire Adam and Eddy in terms of episode titles, the lyrics may not have much, if any bearing, on what to expect in any given episode.
