Eddy Kitsis (about Hook): I don’t know if she would stare at him and think he would be a great father to Henry but he might be fun in Vegas.”

Phee wrote: NL = Vegas. And you know what they say about what happens in Vegas. I hope that’s the reason they’re doing this triangle mess while they’re in NL, because it’s a land where everything, especially emotions, are wonky. The only way I can see CS continuing to interact post-NL without it being incredibly awkward (and we do know they’ll be interacting, to the point where she’s giving him a lift in her car) is if they can say, “So, NL was a real trip huh.”

This is why I think the CS hook-up had to happen in NL, when Emma’s inhibitions are lowered and her emotions are all over the place. I think NL was like a week at Vegas, and even after 3×7 you could tell Emma was regretful about leading Hook on. What seemed like something more was really just a kiss to Emma. I think she regrets ever kissing him because it has only served as a major distraction from the mission of saving Henry. One kiss was enough to make Hook act like he and Emma are a “thing”, even though she keeps saying it was just a kiss, to the point where Hook had to bring it up to Neal and make a big to-do about nothing.

*singsongs* Slurpeez, look at this. This isn’t going to quiet down the rumors any. This pic was posted in the “Who’s filming now?” thread.

    Yup….she’s looks radiant.

Henry is *absolutely* a factor in Emma’s decision. She’s a single mom when you get right down to it. And you put your kids first which was exactly what Emma said in 307. She has to consider not only what is best for her but for her child. I know we have some parents who ship SF, so maybe they’ll back me up (as I am not a parent) but when it comes to your life, your children factor in. It would be a huge misstep in Emma’s character if she didn’t factor Henry into her decisions because, like JMo has said, at the end of the day, Henry is really her true love.

Precisely, and not only is Henry the only love Emma has room for in her life, but he’s also the single most important thing Neal has. In 3×3, Neal said the only thing he has are his boy and Emma. Neal is focused on saving his kid first and foremost which is why he tried first in 3×4 to save Henry, and he nearly did, rather than try to reunited with Emma first. MRJ has confirmed that Henry is who gives Neal a purpose in life, where as before he lacked direction. Having a son gives Neal’s life new meaning, as surely as it does Emma’s. In an interview, MRJ said,

How has Neal finding out that Henry is his son affected him?
    Raymond-James:
Neal was a bit of a rudderless ship for a long time and the thing he coveted was family. It’s sort of like getting to the goal line, they move it another 100 yards. When he finds out he has a son, that immediately gives him a purpose that he was always looking for. It’s an opportunity for him to be the kind of father he always wanted. It had a huge impact on Neal and this is something that he doesn’t want to screw up. He so badly wants to be good at this, at being a father. He’s going to proceed cautiously with Henry’s best interest at heart. His single biggest motivation is his son.

The most important person in Neal’s life is his son, and he truly sees having a son with the woman he loves as the best thing in his life. Neal, who always wanted a family, has found one with his son, his boy, the one he’d do anything for, despite being new at it. Emma and Neal share a bond as parents, a love for a child who was born from their love. The only other person who really gets that is Regina, because she raised Henry from infancy. Yet, as Henry’s biological parents, they are bonded at the genetic level in the form of their son. While that is not the only reason for Emma and Neal to choose one another, the love they share for Henry already bonds them as family and is icing on top of the cake since they really do love one another. Plus, they both share a mutual interest as Henry’s parents, since he is both of their prime motivation, so it’s natural that thought would cross both of their minds as they think about their own relationship going forward.

And later he’s the one to apologize for being childish with the lighter; his taking her aside parallels Hook’s doing so, but he does it only to say that Henry’s awesome and worth being their sole focus and even that if she doesn’t choose him, it’s okay. Nealfire’s so sweet and self-sacrificing and wonderful. Oh, and, as Mulan and Charming (in this ep!) have pointed out…Love is Sacrifice.

I think the writers have purposefully set up this new dynamic: Neal allows for Emma to choose Henry, because Neal himself will always choose Henry, whereas Hook will always push Emma to make a decision, and in so doing, she’ll be less inclined than ever to choose Hook. Her focus has always been Henry ever since S1. If a man can’t be happy with that decision, then Emma has no room in her life for him. Neal is already part of Emma’s life because of Henry, whereas Hook is miffed and acting jealous that Emma chose her son. That is a glaring red flag that Hook is a man who thinks only of himself, whereas Neal will always put his son first, as we’ve already seen him nearly sacrifice his life for his kid. Now, may I ask, which man is ultimately the best choice as far as both Emma and Henry are concerned? The best man is Neal, Henry’s father, who loves his son and Emma.

The Key-chain has to come back eventually? It such a big symbol that just simply can’t go away!

Oh, I don’t think it’ll be forgotten. I think by the end of S3 we could very well see it around Emma’s neck again. *prayer circle for SF*

Also, I just saw this image on Tumblr which so well describes how Neal must be feeling about the Hook and Emma kiss. Poor Neal!

maybe it’s more of Alice’s story when she got home from WL as a kid?

Yes, that is what first came to mind when I read the title. Alice trying to get home to Victorian England.

“Bad Blood” makes me think of a bad history between two people, like a falling out, or a rift.

I’m just throwing his out there, but the word “home” has huge significance for Emma and Neal. Emma has always been searching for a home, as has Neal. In 3×4, Emma looked up at Neal’s star map and reminisced about “home” in the exact same tone as she did in the flashbacks with Neal in “2×6.” And Neal’s mission in S3 has been to get Henry and Emma home, as surely as he’ll do, since only he knows the way home.

Cutie! Is it just me or does Wendy seem older in that pic? And she’s wearing Bae’s bathrobe!

In real life, Wendy is played by Freya Tingley, who is 19, but in the story, she’s supposed to be frozen at age 13 or so. Yes, Wendy is wearing Baelfire’s bathrobe, which he’d left on Hook’s ship.

I just read the title for 3×11. Hurray, for “Going Home”! We all know the significance of home for both Emma and Neal, since they’ve always been looking for it, and dreamt of making a home together in Tallahasee. I’m so hopeful that upon arriving in SB, Emma and Neal are going to look at each other, smile and say “home” in a sentimental way as they hold Henry’s hands, him in the middle of them. Even that would be enough to make me smile with delight. I have faith that the writers have been bringing up the word home subtly in S3 with that very idea in mind: Emma looked up at the star map and reminisced about “home” with the exact tone she did in “Tallahassee” which I believe was deliberately done. Also, Neal has said a few times his mission is to get Henry and Emma home. He knows everything hinges on him, since he alone knows how to navigate home, and he is the one, not Hook, who will get his family back where they belong. *SF feels*
