Participant@MsKt86 – I have a few song suggestions that might work for Neal/Emma:
- Don’t Be Afriad – Elliott Yamin A song from Neal’s point of view, asking Emma not to turn away from him and not to be afraid
- Fight for Love – Elliott Yamin. A song about Neal’s resolve to fight for Emma.
- Bruno Mars – When I Was Your Man A song from a man’s perspective, from Neal’s, about regrets and wishing he could do it right
- Katy Perry – Unconditionally A song from a woman’s perspective, works well for Emma and her love for Neal.
- Bastille – Flaws – A song from Emma and/or Neal’s perspective about flaws and starting again
- X&Y – Coldplay – A song that works from both Neal&Emma’s perspective about trying to fix it
- Jason Mraz – I Won’t Give Up – Neal’s song of love for Emma
- Sarah McLachlin -Fallen A song that works form both Emma and Neal’s perspective
- Your Guardian Angel by The Red Jump Suit Apparatus. A song from Neal’s perspective about proving to Emma that he’s strong enough to be the one and that he won’t let her down again.
- My Sacrifice – Creed. Love is sacrifice. Pretty much Neal’s life.

ParticipantPerhaps Pan is Rumple’s father.
As crazy as it sounds, I think that’s right.

ParticipantPan leads Henry to a secret cave, where he has convinced the boy that he alone can save magic and Neverland itself. But a showdown between good and evil is about to go down as Emma, Mary Margaret, David, Regina, Mr. Gold and Hook find themselves directly on a path to Pan in an effort to save Henry.
What about Neal? He’s fighting for his kid, too! *Sigh, ABC marketing*
Meanwhile, back in the Fairy Tale Land that was, young Rumplestiltskin is given a magical item that could help him make a fresh start with his father — who has been anything but a good dad
I have a feeling that the magical item in question was none other than Pandora’s Box. Let me guess….Rumple’s dad become a boy named Peter.
Wyatt Oleff as young Rumplestiltskin
We have our young Rumple!Stephen Lord as Malcolm
Rumple’s father has a name! I bet anything Mr. Gold’s first name is also Malcolm.

ParticipantI just read a really wonderful, chin-up pro-SF post on Tumblr, which I’ll share here (I’ve censored the profanity though):
If you’re really that discouraged by one episode when honestly it wasn’t even that bad for us, then I don’t know what to tell you. Wait, I do, and it’s gonna go something like this…
- Neal loves Emma
- Emma loves Neal
- Neal listened to everything Emma had to say in the cave and never fought with her, he took everything she said and understood it and held her when she just needed to be held
- He told her it was okay and she would never have to apolgoize for her feelings
- He also told her that he is going to fight for her
- But he’s not making any claims or pressuring her or acting like he’s entitled or expecting anything from her
- Emma trusts Neal and his plans and originally wanted just the two of them to go to get the shadow together
- Emma’s response to Hook saying he hoped the kiss meant something was “what meant something was that you told us Neal is still alive”
- Emma’s response to Hook’s proclamation was that the only thing she has to choose is the best way to get her son back
- None of Neal’s annoyance or hurt was directed at Emma, it was only at Hook, and it was brief and pretty mild and I honestly feel like he was instigated a few times
- Neal realized how stupid what he did was and the first thing he did was apologize (Hook still hasn’t)
- When Emma got mad at them, Neal took it because he knew she was right (Hook continued to make remarks about how he was fighting over her)
- Hook continued to be grouchy and upset when they got back, Neal wasn’t and was instead focused on the task at hand
- Neal stopped Emma again to tell her she was right and that Henry is his first priority
- Neal made it clear he expects nothing and isn’t fighting
- Because he knows that is what Emma wants and needs right now, and he also knows that Emma doesn’t owe him anything
- He isn’t treating her like she’s a prize to be won
- Neal respects Emma
- Neal and Emma ended the episode on much better terms than Emma and Hook did
- Emma isn’t going to focus on either of them until Henry is back but because that’s her (and Neal’s) first priority, as it should be
- Which means everyone freaking out about the idea of having to go through more CS kisses or scenes should really not be worrying because after today she’s not likely gonna be kissing anyone on this trip
- Emma just wants Henry back, that’s it, he’s the one she’ll always choose
- But Neal is still the man who is willing to fight for her and who has her back and who she has loved for over ten years and who she probably always will
- The promised to take care of each other
- And when this is all said and done and they are home, Emma and Neal are going to have everything out in the open, they have been completely honest with each other and know where the other stands, they know they are still scared, but they also know they still love each other, and from that point we can watch them build back up to what we know they are
- Just because it isn’t easy doesn’t mean it isn’t going to happen, all love stories have their obstacles
- Happy endings start with hope
- Their story is still poetic and beautiful
- Believe that the lost girl will find her way home
- Believe in second chances

ParticipantHey everyone I’m Katie. I’m new here. My friend Heather (I think you guys know her as Heather) pointed me in the direction of this forum as safe place to come and talk about my love for Once and of course Swanfire! So here I am! I’m really looking forward to chatting with everyone and sharing views about the show.
Oh, welcome to the SF thread! We’ve all shared your videos, and I love your work! Great stuff there! We welcome all who love SF!
PS) Any chances of you taking vid requests? 🙂

ParticipantI was quite impressed with Neal in this episode, which makes a change since so far in season 3, I’ve not really liked him much. Neal treated Emma like a person, Hook treated her as a prize to be won.
Yes, exactly! Hook realizes Emma is one heck of a woman, but he also sees her as a challenge. While challenges can be a good thing in a healthy, mutually loving relationship, Emma is under duress and struggling to keep it together while her son’s life hangs in the balance! It feels like Hook is being lecherous while Emma is vulnerable. Under normal circumstances, a man saying with confidence that he wants to win a lady’s heart might sound romantic, yet in Neverland it feels completely forced upon her when all Emma wants is to save her son’s life! Emma had just finished saying it was not a contest, and yet Hook persists in saying she must eventually choose. Her reply? The only thing she must choose is the best way to save her son! That is when Hook realizes he must change his tone by giving Emma assurances that she will save her son. Hook is playing a game and using Henry as the in-road to Emma’s feelings.
Yes, I get sense of objectification of Emma with Hook. And his behaviors says of course you would choose me, I’m Hook, I always get what I want and that includes you Emma. Sadly I realize that he is not there to save Henry like the others, (at one point thought he was doing what was right in Honor of Bae/Milha but not anymore) he is there to win the prize, to get the girl, to swoon Emma while she is at her weakest most vulnerable moment. If this is suppose to be true love and romance I can’t see it. The fact said I choose my friend to impress you not because I choose my friend because I care about him is just ugh. The fact that he says he you need to make a choice when clearly Henry is the one thing that her heart is set on says something.
I agree, it seems like Hook is not genuine in his concern over Henry, since when Emma says the only love she has room for is for her son, Hook’s reaction is one of jealousy, hurt, and indignation! That ought to send up a huge red flag! Any man who thinks a woman’s world ought to begin and end with him, especially while her child’s life is in jeopardy, ought to be kicked to the curb immediately! Hook is it for himself and his own interests, not Henry’s, not Neal’s, and really, not even Emma’s, since Emma’s interests lay with her kid.
A truly loving parent puts the well-being of a child first and foremost, as Emma is right to point out. That is especially true of a single mother, and any man who can’t respect that fact quickly can become a toxic hazard to the child in question. That is what happened with Hook and Milha. Hook is a man of the open seas, without responsibility to any man but himself, who has done as he liked without having to answer to a higher authority for a long time. Milha, who was tired of being saddled with the responsibility of motherhood, up and abandoned her child without question. What was Killian’s reaction to Milha leaving behind her son? I doubt he expressed any moral qualms about abandoning Bae since he got what he wanted out of it. Sure, Hook might have felt guilty about it later on, but at the time, he never turned around his ship to go back for Bae. Emma, however, is a different kind of woman, and Hook’s reaction to Emma’s choosing of Henry? He’s miffed! Run Emma! Run away fast! That kind of man is not worth keeping and is toxic.
Neal, on the other hand, has a real vested interest in Henry’s safety and well-being as his father. From the moment Neal found at he had a son, he stepped up to the plate to embrace fatherhood. Neal, who always wanted a family of his own, was so incredibly appreciate of the blessing of finding out he had a child with the woman he loves. His apology and admission to Emma about their son was so sincere, mature and loving!
“You’re right, about Henry. He is all that matters – and if he’s the only thing that came from us being together, then I say we did alright.”
Even if Neal were never to reconcile with Emma, he would daily count his blessings knowing something good, their son, came from their time together. Neal looks at Henry and thinks what a gift it is to know he helped create his beautiful son out of love with the woman he’ll always carry in his heart. Neal really loves his son and the mother of his child for all the right reasons. He would sacrifice is own life for them, as surely as Charming would lay down his life to save Snow and Emma.
Now, who may I ask, is the better candidate for Emma and Henry, who are a package deal? You can’t have the one without the other, and Emma realizes that her son is the most important person in her life. Emma would be wise to choose the man who loves not just her, but who loves her and her son collectively. That man is Henry’s father.

ParticipantI’m sharing Jared Gilmore’s tweet here about what Henry’s reaction would be if Hook and Emma dated:
\
Again, I’m not saying Emma ought to be with Neal just because he’s Henry’s father. Yet, the fact that Emma says she’ll always choose Henry indicates she’s not willing to compromise Henry’s happiness either for the sake of some dalliance with Hook.

ParticipantI’d think that the threat on Wendy’s life would be enough to keep her brothers in line, but it does always pay to have a backup plan, so I could see those shadows being John and Michael’s.
I don’t think so. I think only magical people like PP and Rumple can survive having their shadows ripped. Greg Mendel, however, who was mortal, just died when his shadow was ripped.

ParticipantPhee suggested last week that maybe Henry must volitionally take out his own heart to offer PP because PP *can’t* take Henry’s heart. Just as Cora Couldn’t remove Emma’s heart, so PP can’t remove Henry’s heart because he is a product of true love himself.
