ParticipantLOL! From Lily’s review!
We had Hook sending this anonymous ragamuffin out into the world to find Emma and tell her where he was or whatever, and saying he KNEW she was really there to get him because he JUST KNEW and ugh. I mean, if you love Captain Hook and you are just enjoying this and Colin’s hair, please, don’t let me stop you. Someone has to be enjoying this. But for me, personally, I’m having a hard time with his soulmate connection to Emma when the last time we saw them together he wanted to destroy her. Just me? Maybe just me.
It’s not just you, Lily. As usual, Lily is so on point when it comes to the bipolar writing of Hook’s character. It’s really sad how the writers can totally nail it sometimes (Emma and Neal’s car scene or Henry Sr. and Regina’s farewell in 5×12), yet utterly fail in just the next episode.

ParticipantI wonder if the pen is going to enable Henry to rewrite the narrative again, the way he did at the end of 4×22. It seems like this time he won’t be so easily persuaded to stop at just resetting it; it seems like he might be motivated to make some alterations of his own this time. Moreover, I’m wondering if there is consequently going to be an encounter with the Brothers Grimm, whom many have speculated to be the brothers in the casting call for the finale. Henry being the newest author and their being collectors and editors of folklore and fairytales could be a nice connection.

ParticipantWhat with Henry searching for his dad and Neal inquiring after his son but there being no direct father-son interaction in 5×12, it makes me even more curious to see if we’ll at least get one scene with Neal and Henry. Also, it makes me wonder what Rumple is up to in the UW and what he is doing in NYC in 5×22. While there could be a handful of reasons why Rumple would return to NYC, going to Neal’s apartment makes the most sense.

ParticipantI didn’t mind Hercules and Snow being friends, but I agree that Robin Hood not being the one to train Snow is a huge missed opportunity. Also, I wanted Hercules and Meg to have already been in love before he died.

ParticipantI didn’t mind Hercules, but I totally reject this version of Meg. It’s sadly ironic how this show, which originally sold itself as being about strong women, actually reduced a capable, modern, sassy Disney princess to a damsel in distress (something the character in the animated version of Hercules totally rejected).

ParticipantI thought that this better place only revealed itself as Olympus to Hercules, since he was a demi-god who had to complete 12 labors. Once Hercules had defeated the Cerberus, he then got to join his dad on Mount Oympus. Maybe Meg got to go with him, because she’s Herc’s love interest now.

ParticipantI’m glad Henry will get his pen back, since an author without a pen is useless. I also loved that Snow FINALLY rejected her husband calling her Mary Margaret (though I agree it’s come way too late in the narrative).
While I enjoyed seeing young Snow again, I didn’t like her first kiss being with Hercules. I wanted him and Meg to have already have met, and for him to be in UW searching for Meg. Meg being a damsel in distress is too 1950s, and I totally reject this version of her. What happened to the spitfire named Meg from the Disney version? *head desk*

ParticipantNow that Henry will soon have the author’s pen back, it actually opens the door of possibility for him to write his dad back to life. I’m not saying it will happen, but it would be delightfully delicious if the darkest of dark ones and his grandson teamed up to use their combined powers for good to bring back Neal.
(I know, wishful thinking).

ParticipantWell, now I guess we know where the tombstones with the names of Emma, Snow, Robin Hood and Regina came from. So, it seems like something probably forces Hook’s hand, or else Hades gets someone else to do his dirty work for him. But that again raises the question of why Hades needs anyone to do his dirty work for him.
