ParticipantIt would be nice. Although they could’ve tied Robin into the overall story better by having him be the one that taught Snow to shoot. Having Robin be an old friend of Snow would’ve then given him a relationship outside of OQ, would explain why he was so into Regina upon meeting her (because if Snow is okay with her after everything then there’s no reason why he shouldn’t be), it would have made the whole Reina killed Marian originally a bit more tragic, and it would’ve made OQ make more sense. Alas we are where we are.
In my estimation, fans come up with better ideas than the writers 90% of the time. It seems like such an obvious tie in that I’m surprised the writers never went that route. Why not have Robin have connections to more people in the town than just Regina and now Zelena? The writers really just don’t know how to come up with ideas that create good characterization. Now it seems they really will write him out entirely. Maybe they always planned to kill him off (at least since late season 4 or early season 5), but they could’ve avoided this conundrum by avoiding the icky rape situation and by making Robin interact with more people in situations that are actually pertinent to the story being told. Why not make Arthur the treacherous king that Robin Hood stole from to order to give to the poor? Robin could’ve had an entire backstory in Camelot with Arthur, and maybe Mulan could’ve come back for an episode and been shown as part of Robin’s band of thieves.

ParticipantAlso, we have yet to see how Peter Pan got the picture of Henry centuries before Henry was ever born. While I doubt we’ll ever get an answer to those types of questions (what with this being the show that tells us “your questions are pointless”), it would be nice to get some of those lose ends wrapped up. I was hoping we’d get at least some of those answers from the author, the apprentice, or the sorcerer, but many things remain unresolved. Having season 6 be the last season and introducing the Brothers Grimm as collectors of folklore and fairytales might be a way to resolve some final lingering questions (again, I’m not really counting on it too much, knowing these writers, but I just thought I’d mention it). Having August and the fairies return in S6 and showing them to have a connection to the Brothers Grimm might be a nice way to go about it.

ParticipantInteresting that they’re using “agape” for love—there are several words in Greek for love but agape has a lot of Christian meaning nowadays and it meant a more universal, cosmic love instead of brotherly, more common love.
Yeah, it’s not the word “eros” which is commonly associated with sexual love and desire, “philos” which is more platonic love between close friends or “storge,” which I understand is the kind of family affection that exists between parents and children. I think “agape” certainly now has a more Christian meaning like the love between God and humans, but it also can mean charity, benevolence, and unconditional love: the highest form of love there is.

ParticipantThis is probably old news by now, but someone posted set photos recently. Source: Tumblr
Take it with a grain of salt, but here comes another potentially big spoiler:
Now, I don’t know Greek (help @RumplesGirl – can you confirm?), but someone supposedly translated the inscription on the table, which means roughly “Only a heart filled with true love can pass.”

ParticipantJust because a character is boring, it’s not a good enough reason to kill him in my opinion. Shame on the writers for not being better at writing his character, but I’d prefer he just be written out of the script by sending Robin, Roland and his Merry Men back to the Enchanted Forest than just killing him off gratuitously. I see a pattern on ONCE that I dislike on a family show; all around good and descent parents like Marian, Neal, and Robin get killed in favor of terrible characters like Zelena. On an 8PM show that kids and parents often watch together, I think it’s a bad message to send. If this were a 10 PM drama for adults, I wouldn’t be bothered, but on a show that kids often watch with their parents, I think it’d be better to promote a positive attitude that parents are important and that good people can win. I know that isn’t a reflection of real life, where the bad often prosper, but I still prefer that positive message in which good characters prevail to one in which descent characters gets axed in favor of characters like Zelena. I’m just hoping the spoilers are wrong and that it’s Zelena who dies and Robin lives (although it doens’t appear to be that way).

ParticipantI don’t think Robin’s potential death would have any real payoff except to send Regina spiraling back into villainy, (much the way Neal’s death served to return Rumple to his villain status after he’d striven so hard to save everyone form Peter Pan). I don’t find that kind of character regression very interesting. If the main reason to kill off Robin (assuming he dies) is just to send Regina back over the edge or to make her suffer, it sends a terrible message that characters who are essentially good parents aren’t worth keeping around.

ParticipantI just don’t think we can look at it like that. Major deaths of “good” people and keeping a “bad” person alive, is not a reflection of the writer’s morality. That’s not fair. I’m assuming Robin’s alleged death will be important and will affect the story, especially Regina’s. As long as his death isn’t for nothing, I can’t put the writer’s morality in question.
With all due respect, I can look at it however I want. I do have to question the writers’ judgement if that in fact does occur. I never said anyone else had to question it. I just said I did.

ParticipantI mean, Hades could play a role in 515’s flashback, which features Hook and Liam. If Liam’s ring (the one that Hook gave to Emma) really does have the power to keep somebody alive, it would make sense if the ring is connected to Hades.
I could see that, especially if Hook and Liam’s brotherly relationship is supposed to juxtapose the relationship between Hades and Zeus.
