I think we might need to brace ourselves for the real possibility that Belle/Lacey might not want to leave SB by the end of the season:

Emilie de Ravin: …and you know, we don’t know if the town’s existence might be in danger and how that will affect everything. And then there’ll be people deciding if they’re gonna move home to fairytale land.

Will there be an opportunity for them to make that choice?
I can’t tell you that! [Laughs.] But at least for Lacey, she’s not involved, she doesn’t care. She’s doing her own thing, and Gold’s trying to get her to love him. http://www.hypable.com/2013/04/17/once-upon-a-time-lacey-emilie-de-ravin-interview/

It all sort of depends whether Mr. Gold can get her to love him and possibly to remember she’s Belle all by 2×22. It’s a race against time.

I do think she’ll be a mix of Belle and Lacey by season’s end, but when does it happen?? In a season finale that is guaranteed to be jam packed, a sudden “Belle gets memories back” seems a bit much. This is stressing me out. 😆

Well, technically the finale has two parts (2×21 and 2×22), so the story will be spread out over 2 hours rather than crammed into one. I predict any sort of memory restoration would happen towards the end of 2×21 or start of 2×22.

I recall Robert Carlyle divulged in an interview at Paley Fest that the Rumbelle seperation would be resolved by the finale, but not necessarily in a way one might expect. This leads me to believe that rather than Belle being just Belle by season’s end, she’ll be an amalgamation between Lacey and Belle. Perhaps Lacey's tendency to be a home-body will conflict Belle's sense of adventure and with everyone else's desire to leave SB on Hook ship's in 2×22.

This is such a funny GIF (probably made by an #UglyDuckling fan)

It sounds like Belle was a tabula rasa during the curse (i.e. she had amnesia but no personality. Her FTL memories were gone but no fake memories were imparted (kinda like John Doe before Regina gave him a fake identity as David Nolan when he touched the windmill in Mr. Gold’s shop).

Agreed this is the most logical explanation. So that brings up, what talisman will Regina use to trigger Lacey? With David Nolan it was the windmill that was outside his house, at least that’s how the story went.

A real talesman is a “memorable detail” linked to a person’s true FTL identity; hence Belle’s true talesman is her cup and David’s is the unicorn mobile that hung in Emma’s nursery. Yet, it seems like a fake talesman could be anything really. The windmill seemed like a random item that had supposedly been in Kathryn Nolan’s front yard (though it was really just in Mr. Gold’s pawn shop for 28 years), and when David it touched it, he suddenly “remembered” it as being his own lawn ornament. The one significant thing about the fake talesman is the word windmill could be linked to Regina Mills‘ dark curse.

But then for 28 years was she just a total blank slate? Because she didn’t know Rumple when she saw in the shop. She didn’t know him until Emma broke the curse.

Hey, thanks for the link. That explains that Regina add to Belle memory after not before like everyone else was.

Yeah, that leaves me wondering about a plot hole. Now that Regina has her magic back, what’s to prevent her from recursing everyone with false memories? That would remove the Charmings as contenders for Henry’s affection without actually killing them. Maybe only those people who had cursed memories before but were rescued by Emma’s TLK are protected from ever being cursed in that way again. Yet, because Belle technically had amnesia but not false memories before, can still be cursed, because she didn’t have a cursed personality to be set free from before. My head hurts; it just seems like a bad plot hole to me.

Even if Mr. Gold makes the right decision at the last minute to save Henry, I think he could still pay the consequence of sending Neal to another land again or Neal's soul might be sucked out by a Wraith. It's too early for Mr. Gold to have everything the wants.

Yeah, it’s the “we” that is the kicker. But then again, if Greg’s not in on it, she could still say “we” and make like Greg’s more involved than he is, and if he’s not there to hear her, then he’s still none the wiser and just keeps happily, unwittingly doing her bidding. It’s a more simple explanation if he’s in on it though. I just want him to come good in the end, so am hopeful he’s not fully evil.

While I don’t think Greg is completely evil, I think he’s very damaged after Regina stole his father from him — a vulnerability that Tamara will fully use to achieve her own goals of stealing magic. Owen/Greg wants his father back and he would torture Regina for that information and even resort to kidnaping Henry if it meant seeing his father again. My guess is Greg and Tamara will use Henry for ransom in the form of getting information and/or stealing magic.
