All told, Morrison says that when father and son do come face to face, “It’s incredibly emotional” — for Rumple, at least. For Bae, however, “It’s everything he’s worked so hard to avoid for his entire life. So, there’s conflict and love going on at the same time in that moment.”

What I don’t understand is what is it that Bae would have been working to avoid his whole life? Magic? The Prophecy? If it is magic, that’s not really something he would have run from “his whole life”. And if it’s the prophecy, how does seeing Rumple bring this all back to the fore? I understand he would be mad at Rumple, and may not really want to talk to him and/or see him, but Rumple in and of himself wouldn’t be something he would have “worked so hard to avoid for his entire life”. Aaaah, the suspense!

I agree with your train of thought here. It’s not the case that Baelfire is simply running from magic, because there is no magic in our world prior to Rumple bringing magic to SB. Therefore, I think Baelfire must know something about the prophesy that the seer foretold Rumple. Bae must know that Rumple has been searching for him, and has been on the run from his dad ever since. There were some spoiler tweets which suggest that Rumple knew Baelfire was adept at running and that he wanted the element of surprise to catch his son off guard this time. Somehow, Baelfire still knew when Emma buzzed in that she didn’t really have a delivery and so bolted so as not to come face to face with Rumple.

Here’re some cute BTS images of Jared Gilmore and Jakob Davies. It actually gives me hope that Pinocchio and Henry could become buddies in SB since adult August and Henry were both partners in Operation Cobra. Henry needs a friend his own age.

    Sonequa Martin-Green as Tamara.

The pics of her bumping into Neal in ep18, I got the impression that that was the first time they met. If she’s in NYC in the present day in ep15, then I guess we’re gonna see interaction between them of some sort, and then in ep18 we’ll get the flashback of how they met. Unless and until there’s a set pic of them locking lips, I’m still not buying that they’ll be romantically involved though.

We don’t know yet if Tamara will also be in FTL flashbacks. If she is, given her not having aged since the days when Snow was a girl, that would seem to point towards her being a fairy. And we now know that we will be seeing Blue in flashbacks in this ep. So if Tamara is a fairy who works for Blue, they could easily show that.

Good point. I’d assumed that Tamara would be in the FTL flashback, but Tamara might just show up in a scene in present-day NYC with Nealfire. I hope she and Neal aren’t an item, so your insight that this could be their first meeting makes me hopeful they’re simply mere acquaintances. I also like the theory that Tamara could be Tinker Bell and simply have a platonic relationship with Nealfire Pan.

Yes, please, fellow fans, resist the urge to repost spoilers that have already been posted. Also, we don’t need 4 threads for spoilers. Just make one thread for all general spoilers per episode. I know we’re all excited to share new insights about upcoming episodes, but it makes the forum more crowded and jumbles up the conversations.

I’m thinking since no-one will see it coming & with so many star wars themes coming up- it’s to do with Henry’s future- be it good or bad…. Maybe it goes along the lines of ‘if events take course A) Henry goes all Darth Vader on EF’s butt- if they go course B) He goes all Jedi type thing- this could easily hold true for it being about Emma as well.

After all who would suspect Henry (or Emma) could turn Dark- It happened to Anakin 😉
It could come down to either something Rumple does or doesn’t do, Oh- or maybe it comes down to Henry learning magic or not (much like Anakin learning to use the ‘Force’ = him becoming Darth Vader – lol I almost typed Dark One then lol 😳 ) – there is a star wars parallel if there ever was one for SB 😉

However, I think the prophecy is about how Henry will turn bad given all the spoilers talking about how chilling the last 30 seconds are and how some of the reviews have mentioned that something ominous happens concerning Henry. Emma is already cast in the role of the Savior, so I don’t think they would have her double as both. Plus, as the Savior, it would be more dramatic if there’s some kind of prophecy where she’s the one that must defeat this big bad who turns out to be her own son.

So I think in this case Henry = Anakin in that there’s potential for him to go to the Dark Side in the future, but instead of it being Henry that hears the prophecy like how Anakin sees Padme’s death which he inadvertently caused by trying to prevent it, it will be Rumple that sees/hears this glimpse of the future.

The seer’s prophesy could be two-fold: first about Rumple and then about Henry; both could have potential to do magic, and so be like a jedi knight who could use the force, for good or for ill. There were two very revealing spoiler tweets, which I think present a theme about being condemned to one’s fate vs. forging one’s own destiny.

    The seer says:

“The future is a puzzle. With many pieces to be sorted. In time you will learn to seperate what can be from what will be.”

Later, Henry and Rumple have a very similar conversation:

Henry: “But you wouldn’t have to worry about stuff. You’d just know.”
Mr. Gold: “But that’s the great trap. The future is like a puzzle. With missing pieces. Difficult to read. And never what you think.”

There was another spoiler which was:

    Fear the Seer
Despite our ‘rough-cut’ review copy of Sunday’s episode, the Seer truly is a sight for sore eyes – even with unfinished visual effects. Once you know your future, is there any way to avoid it, and does trying to escape fate simply seal the deal? We guess the lesson here is be careful what you think you know. Also, prepare for some predictions that will leave you scratching your head for episodes to come. http://www.screenspy.com/editorials/5-things-to-know-about-once-upon-a-times-manhattan/

At I first, I think pre-dark Rumple will confuse the “what can be” with the “what will be” and so seal his own grim fate as the Dark One trying to escape being a coward. Mr. Gold speaks as one who has actually fallen into the trap of thinking he could read the future with clarity. Yet, had he chosen not to listen to the seer’s prophesy involving a “can-be’ he might’ve avoided becoming the Dark One entirely. The seer’s prophesy could also involve Henry having the potential to be a very powerful sorcerer in the future, which sounds ominous when we hear it prophesied, bit doesn’t necessarily mean that Henry will become a Darth Vader type of figure (which is essentially what Rumple is in this show). We know that pre-Dark Rumple will hear a prophesy, which will lead him to his destiny of becoming the Dark One. I believe it’s because Rumple makes the mistake of confusing the “will-be’s” from the “can-be’s.” What we could see with Henry, however, could be a very interesting foil for Rumple’s character, and could create a kind of juxtaposition. Instead of becoming a dark figure, Henry could become a power for good. He could learn to avoid the same mistake, despite it being foretold by some creepy old fortune teller.

ETA: Here is a spoiler that I just saw. It’s similar to the ones we’ve already seen, but it adds a key piece of information.

    Francesca: Share some OUAT scoop!
Do not miss the final minute of Sunday’s episode. It’s a game changer that involves a vow Rumple makes in a flashback to Fairy Tale Land. http://www.eonline.com/news/388547/spoiler-chat-scoop-on-glee-the-vampire-diaries-big-bang-theory-teen-wolf-and-more

So this “chilling reveal” comes in the form of a vow that Rumple made in the past based on a prophesy. I wonder if he vowed to harm whomever would challenge his power one day, not realizing it’d be his own grandson. That’d certainly be a shock! Back in the present, Mr. Gold realizes that he made this vow about a grandson he never even knew existed. Now the struggle will be to make sure that never happens to him or Henry.

Grimm fate for major character Hmm..

Ok so it could be Hook, or possibly August. There have been some major spoilers going around with pictures regarding him+ I still don’t understand how August knew about Rumple’s knife. He said a little fairy told him but when exactly? Pinno went into the tree after Blue left. Did they somehow communicate after? I also have been wondering about blue ever since she lied to the charmings and even Rumple about the magic beans. Apparently all he had to do was climb a beanstalk and kill giants which would have been easy for him Im sure.

The theory about the grim fate being for August kinda makes sense, especially given the recent spoiler images from 2×18 of Augsut turning back into his little boy self, Pinocchio. I believe the BF was able to preserve her memories and ward off the harmful effects of the dark curse while living in SB, so that when August arrived in town in S1, he went directly to her and she told him about Rumple’s dagger. Some people are guessing the BF turns Pinocchio back into a boy so he'll no longer remember all of her dirty secrets.

I really hope the grim fate doesn’t concern Henry (although I’m not so sure based on another spoiler which said things were looking ominous for Henry). :

    Henry’s Twist
Have you ever thought there must be something more to Henry (Jared Gilmore) than meets the eye? If so, you’re definitely on the right track, as we’re given a very ominous hint about Emma’s (Jennifer Morrison) little bundle of precocious-ness on this Sunday’s episode. (And no, “more than meets the eye” isn’t a Transformers reference. Disney doesn’t own that franchise.)

The part that I find most interesting is this bit:

Meanwhile, in the fairytale land that was, the Blue Fairy offers Snow White an unconventional enchantment that could help save her dying mother.

A lot of us have guessed that Snow’s mother might not really be dead, but could’ve become the Lady of the Lake mentioned as the woman who raised Lancelot in 2×3. We know from an earlier spoiler from Ginny Goodwin that Eva is murdered (i.e. poisoned or some other unnatural death). But, it’s still in the realm of possibility that the BF manages to save Eva in some form. My other theory is that Eva could become a fairy (I know a bit out there), but you never know. LIke everyone else here, I can’t help but wonder about the BF. Why all this silence and seeming ineptitude on her part for most of S2 and then suddenly, she’s everywhere? She’s called “the original power” for a reason, so there must be something more than first meets the eye. However, I don’t think the BF is “evil” since Eddy and Adam have confirmed she is not, and they wouldn’t lie. So, the BF could simply be crafty, rather than outrightly evil, and want the greater good for the people of the EF. Who knows?

and while Mr. Gold continues his quest in New York to reunite with son Bae, Hook devises a plan to rid himself of a crocodile.

Also, regarding the Captain Hook spoiler, I think he’s going to be screwed over by Cora and Regina, who don’t want Rumple dead, but rather, want to control the Dark One with his dagger. Captain Hook, however, can use any weapon of choice to kill Rumple outside of SB, where there is no magic and he’s not bound by the dagger. He could kill Rumple and thus avoid becoming the next dark one. So, I think Hook could simply get in his enchanted ship, which is now made invisible thanks to Cora’s magic and is the fastest boat according to Eddy and Adam in the most recent official audio podcast, and sail for NYC, where Rumple is still trying to get through to Baelfire.

    1. Baelfire Revealed?
The question we’ve waited more than a year to have answered is addressed this Sunday, but in true Once Upon A Time fashion, there’s a pretty major twist involved. By the time the episode ends, Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle) probably wishes he was still in the dark.

I think we’ve all guessed that Neal is Bae. However, it could be that Cora disguised someone else to pose as Nealfire (her trust white rabbit perhaps).

I must admit, I agree that Henry having magic would make a lot of sense. But, it could be that his death will be foretold. We’ve already seen him sacrifice himself by eating Regina’s poisoned apple and going under the sleeping curse. He then volunteered to go to sleep to communicate with Aurora in the netherworld.

    3. Villain Vs. Villain
Storybrooke’s trinity of evil — Regina (Lana Parrilla), Cora (Barbara Hershey) and Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) — will be working together when this weekend’s episode begins, but by the end, one third of the wicked triangle is left out in the cold.

Yeah, I think Regina and Cora “royally screw” Hook.

    4. So Many Emotions
Not only is this the most game-changing episode of the season — and arguably the series — but it’s also one of the biggest sob-fests! Expect to see waterworks from many Storybrooke residents, even a few you’d never expect to see shed a tear.

    Grumpy? 😥

    5. Stranger Danger
Fans are already skeptical about Greg Mendell (Ethan Embry), the mysterious “outsider” who recently crashed into Storybrooke, and this week’s episode will do nothing to calm their nerves. He continues to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong.

Prying eyes. Never a good sign.

lol please don’t tell me Henry is supposed to be the one to kill Rumple and become the new Dark One. Or maybe the curse on Rumple is hereditary in some way….meets the eye…I’m thinking the seer…is the grim fate part about Henry perhaps?

Yeah, I keep going back and forth about the grim fate, and it could be Henry’s death is foretold. I’m not sure if he’d actually become the Dark One though, especially because I think Rumple is Grandpastiltskin. The only way I could see that fate for Henry is if Cora successfully were to steal Rumple’s dagger and try to wield it to control Rumple, but it backfired and Henry killed Rumple in self-defsne. However, I just don’t see that happening on a family show. Unless it were way in the future when Henry was 17 or so, but I still see Henry as a sacrificial lamb, not a villain.
