I love Robin Hood…but have to agree with RumplesGirl…this really seems late in the season. Season two is shaping up to be the season of thieves.

If Robin Hood is a major character, they could be setting the stage for next season (sort of like how they introduced Cora late in the first season, episode 18).

    Thank you, ABC! 😛

Mr. Gold said he might forget who he is and Emma reassured him that she wouldn’t let that happen. I wonder how she can make that assurance unless she was sure her magic would help him regain his memory.

Looks like we have our Robin Hood!

    Spoiler courtesy of OnceUponAFan.

Major news, Oncers! OnceUponAFan just released a spoiler statement regarding a major new character heading to Once Upon a Time this season, according to a trusted source. According to the clue they gave regarding Diane J. Reed’s latest book, we can confirm that that character would be Robin Hood.
Can this be referring to the two latest roles being cast for episode 2.19?

A Thief, who is male, 30 years old, brave, honorable and steals magic from Rumpelstiltskin; Keith, who is 35, bitter due to a hard life, and likes to chase women.
(Also, go support the lovely Diane J. Reed by buying ‘Robin in the Hood’ on amazon.)

Interesting that these two characters are in the flashback episode. Either while we see 28 years of history in SB, we will also see Ben and Owen (Greg and Dad?) outside of SB OR these two have a history with SB.

😮 Great idea. Maybe Ben and Owen saw SB magically appear out of nowhere when it was first created, and Greg (aka grown-up Owen) has returned to investigate the strange occurrences from 28 years before.

I’ve been wondering if perhaps there was a glitch in the beginning where outsiders (Ben and Owen) could find the town, and it was only after that that Regina put the barrier spell into effect. But I dunno that she’d have had enough magic to achieve that.

I definitely think Greg could be grow-up Owen and that he and his dad may’ve seen something fishy when the curse first brought everyone form the EF to SB. However, since there was no magic in our world except for a few magical trinkets like Regina’s ring, I really doubt Regina could’ve enacted a barrier spell (unless she had a lot of magical stuff).

Adam Horowitz and Eddy Kitsis had this to say in the recent rapid-answer session:

Did Greg (Ethan Embry), the new stranger, intentionally come to Storybrooke?
Horowitz: What we’ve presented so far is exactly what we want to believe, which is [that] this is a man whose car crashed into this town.
Kitsis: I believe him, but you never know.

I think this definitely supports the theory that Greg has come to SB on purpose.

‘Once Upon a Time’: Josh Dallas Previews Giant Confrontations and Charming vs. Hook

Prince Charming, victim in a case of mistaken identity?

On Once Upon a Time, Charming (or David in present-day Storybrooke) will be at the center of an unwelcome reunion, of sorts, when Anton the Giant (Jorge Garcia) makes his return to the ABC fairytale drama in this weekend’s return. But it’s much more complicated than meets the eye.

“Sunday’s episode is called ‘Tiny,’ but it is by no means small,” Josh Dallas told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s an epic Once Upon a Time with some rather large characters we’re going to see again.”

In a chat with THR, Dallas teased Anton and Charming/David’s first interaction, an unpleasant Captain Hook (Colin O’Donoghue) encounter and why David’s desperate to head back to fairytale land.

The Hollywood Reporter: What should we expect in this weekend’s episode, which features the return of Jorge Garcia?

Josh Dallas: Cora (Barbara Hershey) of course has come to Storybrooke along with Hook, and she has found a genius way of transporting the Giant onto the pirate ship. Upon seeing David, Anton has a case of mistaken identity and has an old score to settle with David, which David knows nothing about, and proceeds to unleash his vengeance and wreak havoc on the town of Storybrooke. It’s David and the Storybrooke crew’s jobs to try to get Anton [to see] what kind of people the town’s residents are and to get him to [to see] they’re not people he should fear.

We also go back into past fairytale land — we’ve seen present fairytale land which is not a very hospitable place — and we see Anton and his brother up in the clouds in Giant land. Against his brother’s wishes, Anton climbs down the beanstalk into the world to befriend some humans who aren’t especially nice and whose intentions aren’t wholly noble. He’s climbed down to find a different place to where he thinks he belongs a little better; he feels he’s out of place up there with his brother.

THR: Fair to say, a lot is happening.

Dallas: [Laughs] It’s a lot going on. Who knows? We might even find out what Charming/David/James … what his real name is, which is interesting. It’s interesting and obvious all at the same time.

THR: You mentioned that when Anton first sees David, he isn’t too happy about it. How would you describe their first interaction?

Dallas: It’s quick and it’s very violent. [Laughs] Anton doesn’t waste too much time in letting David know how he feels about seeing him again.

THR: How does David rectify the situation?

Dallas: His quest is to figure out why Anton is after him and once he figures that out, he has an idea of who might know, so he goes and he finds out, and of course, his suspicion is right. David/Charming, being the hero that he is, sets out on a quest to prove to Anton that he’s not that guy that he thinks he is, that not all humans are things to be feared by him and that Storybrooke very well could be a place that he could actually [live] in and thrive and feel safe.

THR: Is there a specific moment from “Tiny” that you can tease?

Dallas: There is a great moment at the end with Anton and a few of the other residents of Storybrooke where they’re breaking ground, where there is a sense of hope for these characters and a sense of a brighter future, particularly for David and Mary Margaret (Ginnifer Goodwin) in David’s mind.

THR: Let’s talk a little bit about their relationship. It’s obviously a key pairing for a lot of the fans and they’re not worlds away from each other anymore.

Dallas: It takes many, many twists and turns along the way. Right now we’re filming episode 17. They are trying to figure out where they belong. Now that they’re back together after all this time being separated straight away after realizing who they were, they’re trying to figure out what their relationship is now. Having that — not necessarily a curse — of true love, how does that work now in the context of where they are in Storybrooke? David, of course, is desperate to go back to fairytale land, even though Mary Margaret has said it’s not like it was. He’s so pure in a way, and I think out of all the characters, Charming has one of the purest hearts of them all because he only wants to do good. He’s desperate to reconnect with his beginnings and court, he wants his kingdom back, he wants his world back. That’s going to be an ongoing struggle in terms of how he’s going to get that.

THR: What are his thoughts on Captain Hook?

Dallas: Up until now, he hasn’t had a chance to interact with Hook, but in this Sunday’s episode, he will have a little bit to do with Hook. Charming is a guy who does not take kindly to people who are liars, manipulators, and I certainly think he sees Hook as one of those kinds of people. There is a little confrontation. If you’re going to insult Charming’s woman, he’s not going to take very kindly to it; that’s all I’m going to say. [Laughs]

I agree that Cora wants power, but power over WHAT exactly??
Does she want to control/rule FTL? SB? All the realms? If her goal is to become the Dark One, then why? Rumple became the Dark One to protect Bae, but if that’s her goal then what does she intend to do with it?

I think Cora wants power in general and power over Rumple specifically. He took her daughter to enact the dark curse and to banish Cora to Wonderland. I also just think Cora wants to rule over SB/FTL in general. Rather than be cursed as the dark one herself, Cora may just seek to control Rumple. She’s always been a social climber and a bit power-hungry. She said to Regina in “The Stable Boy” that power, not love, is what is truly lasting. (I have a side theory that Cora was married to King George once but was then quietly divorced later on. I think Cora thinks love doesn’t last because it didn’t last in her case. She is speaking and acting out of her own pain and her grab for power is a way to protect herself from ever being in a weakened position again). Cora was always pushing for Regina to choose power over love. I think that is still Cora’s guiding principle, and she’s convinced Regina to choose to use power again to get Henry back.

Oh Snow White!! You’re such an awesome person!!
Why was Hook there, that’s my question. He’s part of the Axis of Evil.
And was it Regina or Cora who brought Anton through?

I’m guessing it was Cora who brought Anton, since she was the one who accompanied Hook on his ship to SB. Based on the promo pics, I think Hook is in on Cora’s plan to gain power, which includes using the giant, who has a score to settle with who be believes is Prince James. Also, I think Hook doesn’t want to be under arrest for shooting Belle. Despite fearing Cora, Hook realizes his best chance for freedom and revenge are by being her ally. Plus, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hook might fancy Regina.

It was definitely Cora who brought him. In the original promo (I think) there’s the bit where Hook uncovers the cage and says that he’s her most precious cargo, (or words to that effect). As for what Hook is doing there, perhaps he struck some sort of deal to get back on their good sides so they’d let him go. Let’s not forget the spoiler about him falling in with a righteous crowd.

I think Hook is awesome at playing every angle to get what he wants. He could be a “double agent’ who claims to come clean to the Charmings but then is secretly allied with Cora and Regina. Hook is on his own team.

Is Jorge sticking around as a guest star for any other episodes? I don’t recall seeing him on casting lists. Maybe he will go back to FTL. Someone needs to get started on taking down those ogres.

I don’t think Anton will stay around SB longer than need be. He’s a giant and so can simply grow some more magical beans, which would allow him to return to the EF with relative ease. I can’t help but wonder why Rumple never thought to gain the trust of this friendly giant? It would’ve saved Rumple a lot of time and energy trying to enact the dark curse. 😉

Hook may be the one that lets them know about Anton so they can release him…could be Cora’s plan so that Anton will attack David…maybe a distraction while Cora is up to something else or maybe they think that Anton will actually kill Charming.

Yes, I think you’re right. Hook, Cora, and Regina are working together, for sure, as evidence by this image from “Tiny.” Releasing the giant would be the perfect distraction to keep Charming and Co. busy for at least one episode. Plus, with Rumple and Emma, the savior, out of town, Charming and Snow don’t stand much of a chance keeping the “Axis of Evil” in check for long. In the picture, it looks like they’re plotting their next move on a map, or looking for something on it. Regina would know the town like the back of her hand.

The question on my mind is, what is their goal? We know Regina wants Henry back, Hook wants revenge on Rumple, and Cora wants power. What is a way that all three could partner together to get what they all want? They could steal Rumplestiltskin’s dagger! By controling the Dark One, all three can get what they want. We know from spoiler images from The Miller's Daughter that Cora and Regina use their combined magic to enter Mr. Gold's pawn shop and steal the dagger. We also know that Robert and Colin were absent from that scene, so, perhaps Hook is holding Gold captive somehow while Regina and Cora “storm the castle” to steal the dagger.

What if by “that witch” he means Jack?

I don’t think so, because in the first clip, Jack said the effects of eating the mushroom (i.e. becoming tiny) were only temporary. I think “that witch” must be Cora, because she is the Queen of Hearts. She lived in Wonderland, which is that “far off land” where these mushrooms grow, and so Cora could’ve easily brought them with her on her journey. Also, Jack is dead, as we saw her skeleton in 2×6.
