ParticipantSorry, I haven’t had time to comment on other comments. I just watched the sneak peeks, and I’m looking forward to this episode!
After watching the Canadian promo and the clip with Hook and Emma, I have a batty theory. Hook said that Belle is where Rumpel keeps his heart. While I think Hook meant this in a figurative sense, it could also be a hint about where Cora keeps her actual heart. We saw in the Canadian promo that Cora kissed Rumplestiltskin, which to me signifies they once had a romantic past in FTL. Perhaps Cora hid HER heart with Rumpel, the dark one, who cannot be killed except with a magical knife that only he knows the whereabouts of. What if Cora did this without Rumpel’s knowing?! š®

ParticipantSo excited about Rena Sofer as Snow Whiteās mother on Once Upon a Time. Is there anything you can share about her role? ā Phyllis
NATALIE: Executive producer Adam Horowitz confirms that Queen Eva has a āsurprising connection to someone else in our world.ā If your first guess is Cora ā since it seems likely that the Evil Queenās evil mother may have had a hand in Queen Evaās death ā you may be in for a treat. āThat would be a feud that goes back so long,ā executive producer Edward Kitsis says. But what you may find more interesting? āYou would think it would be easy to be Snow Whiteās mother, but perhaps Snow White wasnāt always Snow White,ā Kitsis says.http://www.tvguide.com/News/Mega-Buzz-Bones-Greys-NCIS-Spoilers-1059174.aspx"Thatās how you know youāve really got a home. So unless and until someone can twist that license plate to relate to something else, I’m putting my money on Ethan’s character being someone Oz related, if not the Wizard himself.
Great detective work. Would be interesting for the writers to weave that fairytale into the storyline. There is a new film called “The Great and Powerful Oz” coming out in March of this year, so, it’ll be a timely connection. The movie’s focus is on the wizard, rather than on Dorothy. I don’t think Hook is suicidal. He wanted Rumple to kill him to show to Belle how evil Rumple is. He wanted Rumple to kill him to make a point, he didn’t want to take his own life, otherwise he would have done that.
I concur. I don’t think Hook is suicidal, just a tad nihilistic.

ParticipantIf you read the synopsis for 2×12, you’ll find out that Hook survived, since Dr. Whale tends to Captain Hook’s wounds.
“In the Name of the Brother” (January 20): Dr. Whale is tasked with mending Hookās wounds and performing surgery on the stranger whose car crashed upon entering Storybrooke. But some of the townspeople fear that the stranger may have seen magic — which could expose their true identities to the world — and think that leaving him to die would be the best solution. Meanwhile, as Mr. Gold tries to reunite with a despondent Belle, Cora attempts to reunite with daughter Regina; and in the land that was, Victor desperately wants to prove to his disapproving father that he can, indeed, bring back the dead. Ethan Embry will guest star in this episode as well.

Today I had a crazy thought, because Rumple kissed Belle in the promo.
We know that Rumple kissed Belle in the enchanted forest and the kiss was true love. He only couldn’t believe it and didn’t want it, so it doesn’t worked.
The second time they kiss was after the Curse was broken, but before magic comes back, so Rumple was at that moment NOT the Dark One. The Kiss wouldn’t take his magic away, because he hadn’t magic.
The third kiss was a dream sequence from Belle.
If my clue is right, then the kiss from the Promo with Rumple and Belle would brake his course too if it worked. That means that he would give up magic for her. š
But we seen it, that it doesn’t worked, because if she doesn’t know who she is. She is not able to love him back. š„But maybe my clue is wrong and I forget a kiss. Please comment.
Actually, the second time Mr. Gold and Belle kissed was in episode 2×1, which was sequentially after Mr. Gold had brought magic to SB in the S1 finale. If you recall, they only hugged in 1×22, and we had to wait all summer for the much anticipated Rumpbell kiss. Watch both episodes back to back, and you’ll see. Therefore, for whatever reason, a true love kiss in SB, even with the return of magic, is not enough to free Rumpel from being the dark one (even though he looks like a regular man here). I think magic in our land works differently. I’m guessing this idea will be explored more in S2 though (hopefully).
