Wow, I totally missed that “if you know what I mean” reference. 😆

Does anyone know where this coat of arms comes from in FTL? Someone posted it on Tumblr in connection to the Emma tatoo theory, but didn’t bother sayings which family it belongs to. Is it King George’s family crest? That would kinda make sense, since King Geroge is her adopted grandfather.

I like the theory about the Scarlet Pimpernel. Now that we’ve seen the writers include a character from a Victorian novel (Dr. Frankenstein), I believe they could include other Victorian novel heroes. Adam and Eddy recently disclosed that they originally wanted Graham to be Sherlock Holmes, but when they couldn’t acquire the legal rights, they settled for the Huntsman.

The only connection I can draw is the flower is a hippie sign (“flower power”), Emma’s yellow bug is from the 60s, and Mystery Man (aka “Neal”) has a NYC apartment full of items from the 60s like the vinyl records. He seems to have a thing for that time period and to be connected to the “Beat Generation” since Neal Cassady is a character from that novel On the Road. Maybe the tattoo is something Emma got out of love for “Neal” when they went on the road together in that yellow bug.

Yes, I think that’s very possible! I posted the same theory in a 2×5 thread Who is Dr. Whale’s brother.

Favorite moment: When we heard Mr. Gold call Dr. Whale by his true first name: Victor. Finally, confirmation! 🙂

Least-favorite moment: When Rumpel organized events which corrupted Regina, driving her to rip someone’s heart out for the first time.

I don’t think Hook’s omission supports the idea that Hook wants to use Emma romantically, since I don’t think he had any romantic notion towards Emma at their first encounter. Yes, his underlying reason to wanting to visit SB is to avenge Milha’s death by killing Rumpel, but that’s a highly personal thing to divulge to someone who’s interrogating you and as you’re facing being torn limb from limb by an ogre. Hook is a cunning pirate, and he’s not going to divulge his vulnerabilities about loving someone to Emma and her gang when they’re threatening his life. He wants to come across as a man who is in control and uses anger over a lost hand as motivation. He’s not going to be all soppy and tenderhearted while being interrogated. He’s going to say just enough to get them to spare his life.

RumplesGirl wrote: I do think Hook loved Milah, but the the reasoning he gave to Emma about wanting to go to SB is very telling : “To get revenge on the man who took my hand” not “To exact revenge on the man who killed my true love.” I do think they are going to have a sort of triangle between Emma/Mystery Man (Bae, Peter Pan and whoever else we think he might be)/ Hook.

Great point! It’s interesting that Hook intentionally omitted the underlying reason. He didn’t lie, but he didn’t give his full reason. I think it’s too personal for him to say it to a complete stranger like Emma while she’s interrogating him and he’s facing being mauled by an ogre, but he told her enough to be honest. This could be a way of setting the stage for a potential relationship developing between Hook and Emma. Eventually, as Hook and Emma get closer and the trust builds, I could see him opening up to her and showing her he’s a complex man with layers and depth.

Yes, Hook is a scoundrel. Yet, he’s being completely honest with Emma so far about his true motivation. He wants to get revenge against Rumplestiltskin, and he doesn’t have any real allegiance to Cora. He’s just interested in getting to SB, and will side with whomever will best help him accomplish that goal. Emma can tell when he’s being honest, and so I think a real partnership of convenience will spring up, and some flirtations will ensue. He may double-cross Cora by agreeing to let Emma and Snow stow away on his ship as they set sail for SB, navigating with the help of a magical compass. I don’t think Emma will fall for his advances, but I do think he’ll try and impress her for real. Nothing will come of it now, but it may way down the line. And let’s be realistic about Milha. He just wants to avenge her death and his hand, which is different from grieving over her. It’s been over 300 years, so I think it’s safe to say he could move on and care about another woman.

Maybe the spell she cast preserved Daniel’s body to appear as though he’d just ceased breathing, no matter how far gone his corpse was (it could’ve been months after his death).

ceege wrtoe: I think she found out about it before she left him stranded. Something happened to make Jefferson lose his fortune. Regina could be behind it. I think she stranded him in Wonderland as revenge for his role in the plot.

The reason Jefferson lost his fortune was because he lost his wife due to his profession as a realm-jumper. Then to make sure his daughter, Grace, didn’t also lose her father, he literally hung up his hat. Since he no longer could travel to other worlds to acquire items for wealthy patrons like Rumpelstiltskin, he only could support Grace by picking wild mushrooms in the Enchanted Forest. He only agreed to do “one last mission” for Regina in 1×17 because he was financially desperate and wanted to provide a better life for Grace, except then his worst nightmare came true as he ended up stranded in Wonderland.
