ParticipantAntBee wrote:Mmm, so it’s a Dementor that makes its presence felt. Meh. I like the idea of Rumple having the Medallion, but it looks so much out of Harry Potter from the picture that I don’t really like the idea of a soul sucking creature. Plus, other than Harry Potter, I don’t really remember soul sucking creatures being a large part of fairy tales. On the other hand, horcruxes sort of are because a lot of fairy tale villains hide their soul in a place outside their bodies, and the hero with the maiden’s help finds the villain’s soul and crushes it to be able to completely destroy the villain. So I wouldn’t mind that being a part of OUaT and not Dementors.
I think the “Dementor” could be the evil foe that Mulan said marked Phillip in one of the sneak peeks. Jamie Chung said her character, Mulan, and Phillip were on the run from an “evil spirit” in their segments. Perhaps the evil spirit is commissioned by Maleficent to hold Princess Aurora captive while she slumbers.

ParticipantSimply amazing! Can I just remark how much I love Henry wearing his mom’s sheriff badge and Emma wearing her mom’s fur vest? Also, I love how Rumpel has “captured the queen” in his chess game and he and Belle are toasting Regina. Prince Charming on a horse in SB is priceless! Rumpel is in full gear with a scarf woven from golden thread. Yep. Perfection. 🙂

ParticipantExclusive: Once Upon A Time’s Evil Queen Lana Parrilla Talks Season 2, a Softer Regina, and More
Fans of Once Upon A Time know Lana Parrilla by different names, for them she is the Evil Queen/ Regina Mills. Thanks to her curse, audiences were able to meet and fall in love with Storybrooke and its inhabitants last season. But it’s all about to change now that the curse has been broken. So where does that leave our lovely Queen this new season?
TV Equals got a chance to talk to the Queen herself, Lana Parrilla, and ask her about all our burningquestions. While she couldn’t reveal too much, she did share some great insight as to Regina’s state of mind this season, as well as teased what’s coming up for Storybrooke.
Can you talk about some of the changes in the second season, since the curse is now broken and there’s a whole new storyline?
Lana Parrilla: Yes. Well, there’s a lot of new characters that have joined our cast, and that’s going to be interesting. I known that some people have seen some teasers of Captain Hook. That’s already been out there. We have Aurora and Mulan. There’s a lot of different new stories to tell. It’s a bigger season, visually and also cast wise. There’s a ton of new stories. I can’t give them away, but I just don’t even know where to begin. It feels like a different season, even, for some of the actors that did the completefirst season. There’s a different energy about this year.So where does that leave Regina, and is she even called Regina now, or maybe just the Evil Queen?
Lana Parrilla: She’s called a few different things, which are inappropriate to say. But she’s called Regina still. Your Highness. Your Majesty. She’s not in a great place, let’s say. The curse is broken and the cat’s out of the bag. Everyone knows who she is, and they want justice and rightfully so. She is going to have to fight long and hard for a couple of things. One, most importantly, her son, Henry. I think that is pretty much the main focus of this character in the second season at this time. She’s lost her son, and that comes with [some] challenges. She’s less concerned with the curse being broken right now, as she is with getting her son back, and she realizes that it’s something that not many people see. I see it because I play the character, but she’s a very hard, a very loyal, committed person and I mean this in the sense that when you think about her love for Daniel, in the first season, she does everything after the point when he dies to get back at Snow White for him. She’s really kind of hung up over [it] and [it’s] very similar with Henry. Losing Henry, I think if she doesn’t get Henry for the next twenty years, she will not stop clawing and fighting for that person. [That’s what] I saw in the character in the second season, and [she is] also extremely resilient. Are we going to be staying in Storybrooke, or is there talk of them trying to get back to Fairy Tale Land?
Lana Parrilla: How do I answer this question? As we saw in the first season, there’re multiple flashbacks every episode where we go into Fairy Tale Land. That kind of storytelling does not change. We do still have our flashbacks. There’s an episode, a couple of episodes that I’ve shot with Ginny [Goodwin] and Robert [Carlyle] where we are back in Fairy Tale Land. We’re kind of picking up where we left off in certain moments, and then obviously back a second time in Storybrooke. [Some of these storylines are] mind blowing. I sit here reading these scripts, like, ‘They are geniuses.’ They really are, these guys. They are some of the best storytellers on television, or out there. I don’t know how they do it.In terms of approaching your part this year, has anything changed for you as an actress?
Lana Parrilla: There’s a softer quality to my character this year. So, I’ve always been very mindful to keep her vulnerable and grounded and more human, and show the deeper complexities and not just get caught up in the funness of playing the Evil Queen, because it is fun. But there’s more to her. This season there are elements of [fears and doubts], but then there’s an honesty in the character that we’ve never seen before. She’s not as gamey, as of right now. She’s really trying to do the right thing, and she feels like a different character. I think it’s just a different side to her. There are a couple of episodes where you will see, and I can only give this away because it’s in the promos, that Regina in Storybrooke does dabble into the magic and tries to use it to get Henry back. But something else is happening as well with her. She’s really trying to get honest, not only with herself but with others around her.If you had a sort of ‘Freaky Friday’ episode where you swapped bodies with someone, who would you want Regina to swap bodies with?
Lana Parrilla: Well, the Mad Hatter has been one of my favorite characters on the show. I just like what his character can do, can travel from land to land. That’s one that I’d be interested in, but I think another would be Captain Hook. I think it’d be fun to play Captain Hook. I have to clarify that I haven’t worked with him yet, and I haven’t seen any footage, but just reading his story is interesting. He’s a good villain. I wouldn’t want to switch with the princess or anything like that. I like playing the villain. If I was going to swap bodies it would be with another villain.Do you have a message for the fans as we head into the second season?
Lana Parrilla: I would say just hang on tight and buckle your seat belts because you’re going to on a fast and furious ride.If you could guest star on any other show, which one would it be?
Lana Parrilla: I’m such a fan of so many old shows that I go into my head. I’m like, ‘The Honeymooners.’ That’s so old. Current. I would say, I think, ‘Mad Men’ would be fun, or ‘Game of Thrones’ is really interesting to me, or no. Scratch that. ‘American Horror Story.’That’s quite a switch.
Lana Parrilla: Yeah. I’d love to be on that show. It would be cool.Once Upon a Time returns for its second season on Sunday, September 30th, at 8pm on ABC.

ParticipantYes, I love all the spoilers I can get – though I want to be surprised and there-in lies my conundrum. Thanks for sharing; it helps to know I’m not alone in this. 🙂
I also love that “grandpa” line; that Henry is such a little Charmer-in-the-making. Also, perhaps the main character to ask about Dr. Whale will be Emma, since she’s not familiar at all with these fairy-tale counterparts.
Am I the only one who doesn’t understand the reference to Lou Reed’s Charley’s Girl – like at all?

ParticipantI'm going with Tinker Bell. Edward Kitsis said recently that “a story like Tinker Bell's deserves its own origin story.” http://www.tvguide.com/News/Once-Upon-Time-Spoilers-Season2-Horowitz-Kitsis-1053245.aspx

ParticipantWow – can I just say love triangle?! Seems like Mulan and Aruora are both crushing on the same man. Plus, Phillip has run off because he’s marked (my guess is by the “deadly foe” we’ve been reading about in various spoilers).

Participant‘Once Upon A Time’ Stars Preview What’s Next! TheInsider.com – Jennifer Morrison, Ginnifer Goodwin, and Lana Parrilla give spoilers for S2
Insider.com: How much room does all this emotional exposition leave for love in Emma’s life?
Jennifer: It was definitely a priority for the writers this year to bring men into her life. Interestingly, I think we can’t truly be in healthy relationships until we work out issues with our parents, so I think it’s fascinating that they’ve chosen the season where she begins to learn about her parents to also be the season where she opens herself up to love. But Emma definitely won’t be the pursuer. She’s a tough nut to crack, but there are men coming into her life who aggressively try to break through her armor.Insider.com: Looking at what you’ve shot so far, what’s your favorite episode in season two?
Jennifer: Selfishly, I have to say episode six because it’s Emma’s backstory [laughs]. As an actor, you work out a backstory with the writers and you obsess over it but so rarely do you get to actually put it on screen. There was a great luxury of getting to live that after so many months of talking about it. I also think episode five, which I’m not in at all, is a great one, because you’ll meet Captain Hook. It’s a great character and the fans should freak out – it’s just that good!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WtBK8pVjQyw&feature=player_embedded

ParticipantSorry for any confusion regarding casting/spoilers. There are many to keep track of. Seems Rachel Shelley is NOT going to play Anita after, because
A veteran of Pretty Little Liars and The X-Files is signing on for a guest-star role on ABC’s Once Upon a Time.
Annabeth Gish has been cast as ‘Anita’ the seventh episode of the second season. She’s described as a charismatic, beautiful and mysterious leader of a pack of humans who — like Red — turn out to be wolves.
http://insidetv.ew.com/2012/09/25/once-upon-a-time-annabeth-gish/
That means Anita may NOT be Morgana, although the casting call refers to her as a sexy sorceress. She could be a she-wolf, just like Red, as well as a witch of some kind. Sounds like a new fairy-tale made up just for OUAT.
That also means Rachel Shelley probably will be in 2×4 as Milha and possibly Rumpel’s first wife who ran off in search of adventure. She wrote: ” I set sail on an immaculate tall ship through aquamarine waters in fairytale land.” Perhaps she meant that both metaphorically as well as in reality; her character, Milha, set sail with Captain Hook aboard his pirate ship. Also, what confused me was the timing of her announcement (her Sept. 27 blog coming out this week) while 2×7 is being filmed. However, I read elsewhere that she was referring to a week of filming on the set of OUAT at the end of August, which is when 2×4 was being shot. Makes sense.

ParticipantOnce Upon a Fan UK is reporting a new casting, but no word on which role the actress will play:
Is Rachel Shelley Heading To Once Upon A Time?
Twitter is currently abuzz with speculation that Rachel Shelley, star of the L Word and regular columnist for Diva magazine, is heading to Storybrooke! The intense speculation stems from an extract from her column in the September 27th issue of Diva. In her column, Rachel Shelley reveals why she missed the Starfury convention in Canada.
“My disappointment at missing the convention was muted somewhat because that same weekend I set sail on an immaculate tall ship through aquamarine waters in fairytale land, working on ABC’s hit TV series Once Upon A Time.”
No official word yet on who her character could be! What do you think Oncers? Is Rachel heading to Storybrooke and who will she play?
I’ll guess that Rachel Shelley (age 43) could play Anita, since we haven’t heard any other recent casting for the role for 2×7:
One role is Anita, 45-50, a sexy sorceress who has lived apart from her family due to their fear of her magic. She is extremely protective of others such as herself.
