ParticipantCharming punching Whale.
I’m thinking that Charming found out Dr. Whale had a one-night stand with Snow/Mary Margaret during the curse.

If Jack turns out to be Baelfire, I could see this happening. After all, Baelfire could have become a thief and liar to survive, just as Jack did in the original fairy-tale version. A lot of people are rooting for Baelfire to be Henry’s dad and Emma’s true love as well, but what if Bae has turned out to be unlikeable? As much as I like Rumpel and Bae, I could see Bae turning out to be a real loser, due to his father’s actions, who doesn’t feel like he could deserve Henry or Emma. That would make for interesting television and a lot of drama. He’d also have to be redeemable in some way.

ParticipantIs his scarf covering his hand for a reason or was the actor just feeling the heat?
I’m thinking that since it’s a summer shoot, Sebastian Stan just got hot and had to cool down by taking off the scarf.

ParticipantThanks for sharing! I was wondering when we might get to see Jack and the Beanstalk.

Details on his role are scarce, but we do know Garcia will be playing “The Giant.” Considering the ABC fairy tale drama is taking on Jack and the Beanstalk this season, we’re guessing Garcia is the famed giant that Jack comes across after climbing up the titular beanstalk.

ParticipantI think Snow, Charming, and Mulan were reportedly all filming together on August 17- 18 at a closed night shoot. There’s an ongoing discussion here in another thread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=50&t=1384&start=10

ParticipantQuestion: Okay, I’ll bite — what’s the big Lost-esque twist coming up on Once Upon a Time involving Mary Margaret and Emma? —Victoria
Ausiello: Remember how Lost would forever find new angles from which to tell a story? And you know how Once already uses flashbacks to the fairytale land that was? Well, you didn’t think they’d leave the narrative as linear as that, did you? http://tvline.com/2012/08/28/walking-dead-season-3-death-spoiler/
I never watched Lost, but I think I read somewhere that there were flash-forwards after the first few seasons. Could Emma and MM actually time-jump to the future or potentially realm-jump to another parallel dimension? Wow, wow, wow!
I’m wondering if this is how we’re going to see the Land of Oz come into play, like Dorthy was transported out of our world and forced to follow the yellow-brick road. We’ve seen hints in Henry’s book of flying monkeys, so it could happen. Also, in the DVD commentary for 1×1, Horowitz and Kitsis pointed out that the hot air balloon in baby Emma’s nursery doesn’t necessarily belong in FTL, but might allude to other stories. Well, the only story I can think of is the Wizard of Oz.

ParticipantJame Chung said: “There’s this evil spirit that’s moving and my character ends up bonding with Sleeping Beauty.
I agree that “evil spirit” could potentially be Maleficent. Recall how Regina has the power to disappear into thin air and travel to and from locations within FTL (1×1) and turn into animals like a mouse (which we saw in 1×2). If Maleficent has the same power, she could appear like a spirit, potentially. We already know that Maleficent can turn into a dragon. I really hope the actress who plays her will make guest appearance in S2. It already sounds like she might, based on the spoiler from Comic Con that Eddy and Adam “didn’t see a body” in the finale. Sounds like there’s a lot of potential to play with.
Phee wrote: Though, given that Sleeping Beauty pricks her finger on a spindle, it’d be surprising if our resident king of the spinning wheel isn’t involved in that story too.
I’m inferring you mean Rumpelstiltskin! I would love to see his tale woven into the classic Sleeping Beauty storyline here! Perhaps Maleficient curses Sleeping Beauty, but she pricks her finger on Rumpel’s spinning wheel.
I’m really interested to see how they choose to tell the Sleeping Beauty story, and how it’ll be woven into the timeline. Regina and Maleficent’s conversation suggests it all happened around the time Regina met Snow and Leopold.
I agree that the convo between Regina and Maleficent suggested the Sleeping Beauty story took place in the past. It’s not clear how far in the past though. Remember all those spoilers we saw about Mulan’s village? Jamie Chung has at least one scene with Prince Charming and Snow White, since they were filming together. So, Mulan is involved in their storyline, too. Perhaps Prince Phillip, Prince Charming, Mulan, and Snow White are all in on helping save Sleeping Beauty. Perhaps this storyline occurs after Prince Charming and Snow White are engaged and “taking back the kingdom” and before Regina unleashed the dark curse. Just a thought.
Unless it was just the falling asleep instead of dying that happened back then, and Phillip doesn’t wake her up until after that conversation between Maleficent and Regina happened?
I think that is a very real possibility. Perhaps Sleeping Beauty was in a coma state for a good amount of time, and then it happens Prince Phillip forms an alliance with Mulan later.
Would Mulan and Phillip being buddies confirm that she’s from FTL, and not some other realm?
I wonder about this, too. Perhaps Mulan is from a far-off kingdom, similarly to how Belle’s village was remote and foreign. It could also be that Jefferson’s hat doesn’t just go to different worlds, but also to different realms within the same world.
