During the scene Josh goes into Mr. Gold’s Pawn Shop and comes out with a magic potion.

😮 Another potion! You’d think the guy would learn not to mess around with magic – especially since SW drank a potion to forget Charming and the price was so high that he took an arrow for her and could’ve died. Perhaps Charming is searching for MM and Emma, and they only way to get them back is to resort to asking Mr. Gold for magic. Based on other spoilers, we know PC goes after Jefferson, presumably to locate his girls, who could’ve been transported outside of SB when magic arrived.

This fits with what I have been hearing about most of Jen and Ginny’s scenes being filmed indoors on green screen. We know they have filmed together because they said they got soaked. I have had a feeling they may have disappeared from Storybrooke for a while now.

Also another idea just occurred to me as I was thinking about where SW and Emma could be. We know we’re supposed to meet the Little Mermaid in S2 based on some early spoilers from Comic-Con. Also, there was a tweet from Ginny Goodwin that she was “getting soaked” with Jennifer Morrison. Since magic is unpredictable, what if they somehow were transported to Atlantica and transformed into mermaids, and that’s how we meet Ariel?! 💡 I know it sounds completely hair-brained, but it’s just the fan-girl in me wishing to see the Little Mermaid. In S1, we saw several doors to other worlds, one of which some speculated could be the underwater realm of the mermaids. Also, the Evil Queen hinted in 1×12 that she had to see about a “certain mermaid” and Lana Parrilla has stated in interviews that she’d love to play Ursula.

What if the potion that PC gets is one to turn Emma and SW back into their human forms?! Now I know I’m just jumping to conclusions. 😉

I call that Dr. Whale is Merlin. Since we know we're going to meet Lancelot, perhaps the rest of the King Arthur legend characters will be introduced. Also, Granny said in 1×15 that she got the magic cloak to prevent Red from phasing into a wolf from a powerful wizard, who could be Dr. Whale (aka Merlin).

Phee wrote: Rumple’s reaction when Bae later questioned him if his mother left, or died, suggested that there was more to the story than her dying.

Agreed. It could be that Rumpel’s response to Bae (“she is dead”) could really be his way of saying “she is dead to me.” She didn’t actually die, but left him for another man and “adventure.” Not wanting to tell Baelfire that his mother abandoned her son and him, he simply let Baefire think she was dead. This would be very similar to how Emma let Henry think his father was dead. Perhaps it is a protective white-lie.

Also, I really like your theory Phee, that Bae could be Peter Pan. If his mom and Captain Hook ran off together, it’d tie in nicely to that plot. Perhaps Baelfire, upon coming to our world, was adopted by Tinkerbell looking for lost boys and shown how to fly. Then, upon arriving in Neverland, he became Peter Pan, where up he somehow learned who his mother is – Captain Hook’s mistress. 💡

Phee wrote:Well Granny did mention that Red’s cloak came from a “wizard”. I guess most people speculated that she meant Rumple, because he was the closest thing to a “wizard” we had at that point, but if they’re dipping into Arthurian legend now, Merlin is a contender if they want to go back and tell more of that story.

I have this hunch that Dr. Whale could be that wizard who gave Granny the magic cloak for Red. The reason is he is obviously connected to Ruby somehow in SB, so it would follow that his FTL counterpart is somehow related to Red’s fairytale story. Perhaps Dr. Whale is Merlin! ❗

    Interview with Sebastian Stan:

AE: Shifting gears to Once Upon A Time, as an actor how do you approach the fantasy element of it? How do you maintain a realness when the world is not necessarily real?
SS: I think whether the character exists on the moon or, I don’t know, you just try to play the truth of it and the authenticity of it. What I try to do and use as a guide or a map is what is very clear in the script. The man wanted to be reunited with his daughter, that was very clear, and he would do anything that he could to do that, and he thought the Emma Swan character [played by Jennifer Morrison, who Stan reportedly is dating] was going to be the person to bring him back to do that. Whether it was magic or any of the other words, that’s what comes out of his mouth. What he’s saying over and over again…you just pay attention to what these characters want and not the green screen.

You’re shooting more for season 2, can we expect the next chapter of the Mad Hatter’s story, especially now that Storybrooke has changed?
SS: There will be. I think he’ll be just as much affected by everything, but the desire for him has not changed. He still wants that reunion with the daughter. Also, you have to remember, he’s known all along before everybody else that this was going to happen, so this is not a big surprise to him. From where he comes from, it’s like ‘Oh, good. Now everybody is going to see what I’ve been talking about over and over again, but no one was listening to me.” He’s seen all this coming.

Phee wrote: There wouldn’t be much point introducing Prince Phillip in an ep that didn’t feature the Sleeping Beauty story.

Unless Prince Phillip has his own back-story which is separate from Princess Aurora’s. The writers made a separate backstory for Prince Charming/James in S1XE06 – The Shepherd.

On another note, here is some more speculation about what could be going on regarding Emma and SW’s whereabouts:

Emma & Snow – What’s Happened To Them?

I have had a feeling they may have disappeared from Storybrooke for a while now. Perfect way to keep the Charming/Snow love story going and explains why Henry is with Charming. We know these writers love to rip characters apart. Think Sun/Jin in Lost and we may get an idea of where the Snow/Charming story is heading this season.

“Why is Charming running after the Mad hatter? It seems the Mad Hatter knows something about the whereabouts of Ginnifer Goodwin’s Snow White and Jennifer Morrison’s Emma Swan, who are nowhere to be seen in Storybrooke. What’s happened to them? We’ll have to wait until season two begins airing to find out”. – YVR Shoots

like would see Merlin at some point too or the knights of the roundtable?

I want to see Merlin too. So far, there aren’t any male protagonists who can wield magic. It’d be nice to see a man on board who is known for his good magic.

Holy smokes! The above picture of Julian and Dylan shows an uncanny resemblance! Either Julian is cast as adult-Baelfire or he is Baelfire’s biological dad.
