ParticipantAdded to that list are Jiminy’s parents, who didn’t listen to their son’s plea to be good. I hope they got what was coming to them. I felt so sorry for Geppetto’s parents, who’re still puppets.

Participantbottom line she’s lacking the confidence in her own power it’s the same reason she looks so overwhelmed when she realizes its on her to save everyone she hasn’t completely realized what she’s capable of.
Yes, I think Mr. Gold wants Emma to stand on her on two feet. As Jefferson said, “Isn’t it about time?” Emma has refused to open her eyes to what is truthfully going on in front of her. She needs to believe before anything else can happen with Henry. She needs to realize what she herself is capable of as the savior and as a mother.

ParticipantBlue Fairy: Fairy dust is the most precious substance in all the land. Its magic is what powers the world.
IMO, the Blue Fairy doesn’t seem to be overtly evil. Yet, I think she has a very utilitarian kind of ethics: the greatest good for the greatest number. She didn’t seem to care about the happiness of an individual dwarf or even an individual fairy, since each one has his or her place in the overall hierarchy of society. Both fairies and dwarves are critical to harvesting magic, which is what powers the world, according to the Blue Fairy in episode 14. She likes order and wants the fairytale realm to continue to exist as it always has. She doesn’t like Rumpel, because he plays by his own rules. She tried to get rid of Rumpel in episode 19 by giving a magic bean to Bealfire to take his father to a land without magic. I think “right” side did refer to “good side” in her own mind. Though her intentions may be good, the outcome may not be. Look what happened when Rumpel didn’t go with Bae. He became resolved to enact a dark curse that would take all of FTL to a land without magic–the very opposite of what the Blue Fairy wants. She lives and breathes magic, and to her, it’s the most precious substance of all.

ParticipantWow, thanks for posting! I’m really excited for this episode now more than ever! After watching these clips, I think that the pages August must have added were a new ending to the classic story of Pinocchio! August wants Emma to know what really happened to that puppet in FTL. He is clearly setting the stage for Emma to believe that he is Pinocchio. Also, I think that the new ending that August added was how he came to our world to protect baby Emma.
Also, the clip of MM and Regina echoes the words that Maleficent warned would happen: Regina has a hole in her heart that cannot be filled. Also, like in episode 8 when SW forgave the EQ, so is MM forgiving Regina for framing her for a murder.
Also, David must be really insecure to flit from one woman to the next. I know he is only trying to be nice, but Regina is playing him big time! The card read “Mom” on the outside but was blank on the inside. Regina obviously forged it and claimed Henry was neglecting her to make David sympathize and stay for dinner. Still, David must be really thick to think that “something in the universe” wanted Regina to find him. She completely fabricated the story of her finding him on the side of the road. Everything out of Regina’s mouth is a lie. Doesn’t he know Regina tried to frame MM? Maybe not if MM and Emma haven’t told him about what really happened. I hate the effect that the curse has on David, because he is unbelievably dim-witted. You’d think he’d at least maintain some of his former charms, as MM obviously maintained some of her kick-butt attitude when she kicked Jefferson out of a window in episode 17.
Finally, I wonder if Mr. Gold is declining Emma’s request to gain custody of Henry because he wants Emma to put her trust in August instead. In episode 19, Mr. Gold said that Emma trusted August, and perhaps Mr. Gold hopes that Emma will start to trust August even more, which will help her believe faster. Otherwise, I’m not sure what Mr. Gold’s game is and why he’d turn down Emma’s request. Maybe he truly doesn’t want Henry to get hurt, which is what I predicted would happen if Emma rashly goes head-to-head with Regina. Still another thought is that Mr. Gold has another intentional reason for Regina to maintain custody over Henry. Perhaps it is a key part to breaking the curse.

ParticipantI just can’t see Henry dying on OUAT — a family show which kids watch! That would go entirely against the grain of Emma getting her HEA. So, I’ll say no way to that one!

ParticipantSnow White: You. You found me.
Prince Charming: Did you ever doubt I would?
Snow White: Truthfully, the glass coffin gave me pause.
Prince Charming: Well, you never have to worry. I will always find you.Mary Margaret: If you love them and they love you. They will always find you.
Henry: You’re here because it’s your destiny. You’re going to bring back the happy endings.
Prince James: I will always find her. I will always fight for her, no matter what comes between us.

ParticipantHere’s the thing: Storybrooke has featured Jiminy Cricket prominently, Geppetto from time to time, and even someone we think could very well, somehow, have been Monstro (if a man can be turned into a cricket, why not a whale?). Meanwhile Pinocchio himself has been very oddly absent in Storybrooke … or has he? From the standpoint of putting together a complete story I don’t know why else Pinocchio would be missing unless there have been casting issues or he’s somewhere outside of Storybrooke for some other reason.
While watching the ep., as soon as Mother Superior said that he’d found his father but hadn’t spoken to him yet, I realized it was very likely not really Bae. I whispered to Dan that it could still go either way (Bae or Pinocchio) and he looked at me like I was crazy. 😉 I was right about the not-Bae part, but we’ll likely know in a few days about the rest!
I actually didn’t like the Pinocchio theory either, at first, but that’s largely because it’s not my favorite story. Someone earlier pointed out that they make the fairytales quite a bit more awesome, in general, so even if August is Pinocchio I’m sure we’ll enjoy the story.
Yep, I agree with everything said. I posted the same thing elsewhere. I’ve never been a huge fan either of the Disney cartoon version of Pinocchio, but that’s not grounds to disqualify the character. Knowing how OUAT takes traditional fairy-tale characters and adds some extra spice to them, I think that there is a good chance they could do some cool things with grown-up Pinocchio. If the writers can transform a little damsel in distress like Snow into a fire-cracker princess, surely then can transform a former puppet into a fighting hero.

ParticipantNooooooo, David! The next scene had better be him dodging her attempt to kiss him! 😡
Just when I thought David couldn’t get any worse, he goes and nearly falls for Regina’s evil ploys! 👿"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

ParticipantSince according to Mr. Gold, Baelfire traveled through time and space, I’m thinking that Bae could still be alive in our world. It is like the time difference between Narnia and our world. Time is relative to where you are in space. Before I heard that disclaimer, I thought it didn’t make any sense for Bae to still be alive, since Rumpelstiltskin is centuries old. I think Bae is likely in our world somewhere, but certainly outside of SB, otherwise Mr. Gold would’ve already found him. I’m also thinking it no longer makes sense for Bae to be in Neverland or Oz, because both lands have magic.
Moreover, “a land without magic” seems to refer to our world. It could be that there are multiple worlds without magic in which Bae could’ve ended up in, but I think that Rumpel would have carefully created the curse to pinpoint which one before he had it enacted. Also, I think Bae is in our world, because there has to be a future reunion between father and son. Every good series needs reconciliation for the main characters, and Rumpel is certainly the most prominent after Emma, SW, PC, and Regina. I do think that Emma, having been born in a land that had magic and escaped the curse, has magic and has brought it back to SB, as Jefferson said in ep. 17.

ParticipantIn episode 2, we heard Regina say to Emma that her apples are honeycrisp apples. Usually, those apples have a yellowish appearance, yet Regina’s apples look red. I wonder if her apples started out yellow but then took on a reddish hue when she added “blood” to them. Perhaps that is how she poisoned the apples in the first place to make SW fall under a sleeping spell.
