ParticipantThere’s a lot of speculation about what the green vortex could be: a portal to another world, a portal to our world, a portal to FTL, a portal to Oz. So, I’ll add my guess and say it’s a portal to Neverland.

You see how in the end Emma kills something well you know how in the show they say if you kill someone you become just as evil. In this commercial it looks like she kills Regina?? what does this mean?
Either that scene is Regina’s nightmare, or it is real. If it is a real event, then I don’t think Emma would kill Regina, since presumably Snow White and Prince Charming would warn their daughter not to tarnish her soul and become as dark as the one she kills. Perhaps Emma is just swinging her sword in Regina’s direction but comes short, just to scare Regina. Perhaps Emma uses the sword to slice off a branch from the apple tree, which would be similar to a scene in episode 2 when Emma uses a chain saw to prune the apple tree. There is some special link between Regina and the apple tree. Back in episode 2, Regina made a speech about how the honey comb apple tree can survive any storm, which is why I think the apple tree is a metaphor for the tree itself. Perhaps if you harm the apple tree, you also harm Regina, (but without all the horrible repercussions of killing Regina directly).

ParticipantI think after episode 17, it’s fairly safe to say there IS magic in SB since Emma arrived. Whether or not Mr. Gold used magic to bring back Kathryn is another question indeed. There was that little quip he said to Regina, “We all know what happens to those who try and leave.” We’ll find out this Sunday for sure what happened for sure. Kathryn did look dazed and confused. Maybe Mr. Gold was holding her hostage. Perhaps she was simply wandering the woods, and was dehydrated, or perhaps like David, she is having flashbacks to her life in FTL. The more I think about it, Kathryn had a blank stare very similar to the one David had when MM found him wandering in the woods in ep 16.

Participant9. Identifying with their childhood abuser and replicating the misdirected anger and bullying they painfully endured.
Yep, I’m thinking that pretty much sums up Regina’s suffering abuse from her mother, Cora, and taking out her misplaced anger on Snow White.

ParticipantHere is another (poor quality) promo for the last 4 episodes. It has a couple of more clips than the last one: http://www.spoilersguide.com/once-upon-a-time/episode-19-the-return-promo-3/
Here are the news ones I could decipher:- 1. There is a scene of Regina promising that Prince Charming will suffer.
2. There is a scene of what appears to be Rumpel trying to escape with his son Bae but then being struck by green light.
3. There is a scene of Emma’s yellow bug spinning like it’s going to crash.
4. There is a scene of Emma swinging a sword towards Regina. Can anyone else distinguish any other new scenes?

ParticipantI also think Sidney will be next on the list to die. Regina has threatened Sidney a couple of times. The first was in episode 2, The Thing You Love Most, when she said, “Do you know what I do with things that have no value to me? I throw them away.” Now that Emma has discovered the bug Sidney planted in the vase of flowers, it seems like Sidney is no longer of any value to Regina. Once Regina realizes Kathryn is back, Regina will start to worry she is losing her power to Mr. Gold. Also, in the promo for the rest of the season, there is a scene of Regina smashing a mirror in SB. If it's true that the mirror is still magic in SB, then it seems like she is effectively getting rid of Sidney.

ParticipantI just assumed that all the stories we’ve seen so far in FTL are all stories contained in the book. Just because we haven’t seen those particular pages from Henry’s book doesn’t mean they’re absent. Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

ParticipantSnow White, like everyone, has her moments where she struggles. Even if she started out spoiled, life quickly taught her some very hard and cruel lessons early on. It’s amazing she turned out as well as she did. She was a little girl who lost her mother at a young age, had to endure a step-mother who never really loved her and tried to kill her multiple times, was doted on by her father from a young age, who was tragically taken from her as a teenager by evil Regina. Not only was she an orphan from about the age of 18 due to her evil step-mother, but she was probably framed for the murder of her beloved father.
Even when Regina sent a huntsman to tear out SW’s heart, SW wrote a letter forgiving her step-mother and apologizing for keeping her from love. When Prince Charming met SW, she was on the run for her life after nearly being assassinated by the Huntsman, who took mercy on her. She was wanted wrongfully for “murder, treason, and treachery.” Even though she acted unbecomingly as a result of taking the potion from Rumpel, he explained that when she forgot Prince Charming, she lost her heart. She isn’t really as bad as she seemed. It was the price she had to pay for the magic. It’s similar to when Regina’s love, Daniel, died in her arms. That caused Regina’s figurative heart to be crushed into a thousand pieces and for her to snap. Fortunately for SW, she still had her Prince Charming to save her from a destructive fate.

ParticipantI agree, hjbau. Even though FTL lacked all of the “modern conveniences” of our world, I think she’d have some major and compelling reasons why she’d want to go:
1) She’s always been on her own in our world. If Snow White, Prince Charming, and Henry wanted to return, she’d be right there with them. To quote Emma, she “can’t lose her family.” If they stayed in our world, she’d stay.
2) If she and August became a couple and he were to go to FTL, she’d go with him. I hope she gets her “Happily Ever After.” After all, every heroine deserves a hero.
3) She’d be a royal princess and heiress to an entire kingdom as the only child of Prince Charming and Snow White. She’d never have to worry about toiling again for anything. I don’t think of this as a “lack of freedom” because she’d be given everything. Even though she’d have to learn to rule, she’d be an awesome princess. Plus, she’d have awesome costumes. (Personally, I don’t think they’re “funky”, but rather lovely).
4) There is magic in FTL that can help to overcome the lack of modern conveniences. Things like disease might be done away with there.
5) After living in a hard life in our world, she may very well want an “escape” to FTL."That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

Participantenglishwatcher wrote: In SB we know that August Wayne Booth is the editor of the book – in one of the episodes has everyone missed that he added pages to the book?
Thanks for posting. Actually, this topic has been touched on and speculated over ad nauseum. The theory that August Wayne Booth is the Wayne Booth, American literary narrator who coined the term “unreliable narrator” has also been brought up on other threads. There is a lot to sort through:

ParticipantI agree, hjbau. The writers hopefully know better than to kill off August after he has created so much buzz for the show. (Yet, then again, they killed off Graham, who was a show favorite). I think August though is vital to helping Emma discover how to break the curse. He was created for the very purpose of helping her believe in fairy-tales. I also think he may be a potential love interest for her. They both share a lot in common, and they seem to have a deeper connection than meets the naked eye. Plus, there remains the whole question of his identity and what his connection is to SB. He also seems to have some unresolved business with Mr.Gold/Rumpel. After Rumpel, I think August is the most interesting character by far.
