ParticipantI’m not sure Geppetto would make a deal with Rumple behind the backs of SW and PC. Rather, perhaps by simple virtue of being made from the same enchanted tree, Pinocchio automatically reverted back to his puppet state and was transported to the “real world.”

ParticipantI recall Jennifer Morrison commenting that as Emma becomes more open to relationships and people, her attire begins to change, too.

ParticipantAs much as I don’t want August to be Pinocchio, I think there are lots of indicators that point in that direction. As Phee theorized, I think the fact that the puppet is found in what appears to be Lake Gnostos could be a nice tie-in to when August told Emma about the well water fed by a magic lake. Also, Pinocchio loved to go on adventures, and so does August. Plus, we haven’t seen Pinocchio’s counterpart in SB. Finally, in the pilot episode, Geppetto’s SB counterpart said how much he wanted a child, but he and his wife never could have children. We’ll have to wait and see.

I doubt Regina is behind the kidnappings, since Jefferson clearly believes that fairy tales are real. Regina wouldn’t want to risk exposing anyone, especially Emma, to someone like Jefferson, who is crazy enough to believe in FTL. No one needs to give Jefferson a reason. In his mind, desperate times call for desperate measures. Jefferson kidnapped Mary Margaret in order to lure Emma to his house, drug her, and demand she make a magic hat so he can return to Wonderland. Jefferson has somehow figured out who Emma is and believes she has some kind of power to help him. Perhaps he’s desperate to get back to his daughter, who’s trapped in Wonderland or something. After living 28 years in SB, knowing he’s trapped in a place where no one knows who he/she is, Jefferson is bound to go kind of nuts. Ultimately, I think Jefferson will be redeemed, and once Emma and August help him, he’ll calm down and regain some of his sanity.
Perhaps August mentions to Jefferson who Emma is and what she’s capable of, knowing it will trigger events in SB (just like August prompted Red to have an adventure and prompted Henry to search for clues in his book). Even though August doesn’t directly tell Jefferson to kidnap Emma, he knows what Jefferson was capable of, and so the mere mention of Emma sets off events. So, August knows Emma will hear Jefferson’s story of being the Mad Hatter, see the scar on his neck where he was nearly beheaded by the Queen of Hearts, and will come to question things more than ever before. August said to Henry in ep. 16 that Emma needs evidence to believe things, and Jefferson has the tangible scar on his neck to go with the fairytale story. In the episode photos, we see August outside of Jefferson’s house. So, perhaps August will appear to come to Emma’s aid, and will reassure Jefferson that things will be okay.

ParticipantI had the same thought which was posted in another thread: https://oncepodcast.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=373 As evil as Regina is, I think her mother will be worse in some ways.

ParticipantJennifer Morrison would agree with you:
“This is actually one of my favorite episodes,” Jennifer Morrison says of bounty hunter-by-trade Emma’s mission to track down the Maine moppets’ birth dad, before they are put into the foster care system.
“Since you can’t flash back to my life in fairytale land, because it never happened, they’re using Hansel and Gretel as they did Cinderella [in “The Price of Gold”] to reveal some of Emma’s backstory,” the actress explains. “So what Emma goes through to try and help these children ends up becoming very personal for her, as her own life [as a foster kid] is in a sense revealed.”

Awesome, MM and David remember who they are in this scene! The photos were from March 22, the last day of filming, so I think they’re from the finale. http://www.zimbio.com/pictures/yo-rRcMC-9A/Josh+Dallas+Ginnifer+Goodwin+Get+Romantic/NQMjwN2s03T@ hjbau: The shot below is from March 14, when Emma falls. MM and David are wearing different clothes (except for her coat). Her pants and shoes are gray here, whereas in the shots above, she’s in jeans and tan shoes. David’s pants and shoes are also different.

ParticipantAfter watching those spoilers, I haven’t been so excited to watch a OUAT episode since … last week! This show is going from strength to strength. I hope they keep it that way.

Also, we know the title of the finale is called A Land Without Magic. Maybe Rumple does want to put an end to magic.
