    Dead.

That would be terrible for two big reasons. (1) It’d be a terrible message to send that darkness could so easily wipe out the most powerful sorcerer of all time and (2) it’d be horrible for yet another person of color to bite the dust.

Maybe it’s the first Dark One who killed Merlin and used his heart to cast this dark curse.

While I see the potential parallel being made, Emma said everyone except Henry had failed her. So maybe Henry is the only one who believed in her enough to see her plan through that he offered her his heart, believing she’d save him like Snow saved David. Emma using her son’s heart is still pretty dark though, so she’d be motivated to remove everyone’s memories of the event.

Nimue leaves a mark or takes some blood?

Why do I get the impression that this is the very bad thing that Merlin predicted would happen if Excalibur were removed, even if done so for good reasons?

On a different note, I just have a few comments on some other spoilers.

First, the new 5×6 script tease has Zelena acknowledging she killed Neal. Why now? It’s 1.5 seasons too late. Emma brought it up last season. Why bring it up again unless Emma wants revenge on Zelena?

Second, spoiler photos for 5×11 reveal Nimue and a host of former dark ones terrorizing SB and marking Henry, and everyone else, with some sort of mark. Why do I get the impression that this is the very bad thing that Merlin predicted would happen if Excalibur were removed from the stone, even if done so for good reasons? Something tells me that Hook’s name being on Excalibur is a very bad thing (i.e. Hook’s action of re-uniting the sword hilt and dagger majorly backfired on him).

^ On the one hand, I’m glad to see Zelena take responsibility for killing Neal. On the other hand, why is she bringing up that event again now?

This. If–IF–it was Emma, then I’m betting she and Henry are currently sharing a heart.

IF she was even able to take Henry’s heart. Remember, Regina cast a protection spell over it specifically so that nobody could ever take it again.

If Emma scarified Henry’s heart, she would likely only have done so if Henry willingly removed his own heart to give to his mother, believing she would save him. Otherwise, maybe Lancelot and Gwen are currently sharing a heart.

    *reads latest spoiler*

So, I know I’m in the extreme minority, but I don’t think it has to be Hook’s heart that Emma sacrifices to cast the dark curse. To cast it, one must sacrifice the heart of the thing she loves most. Then whose heart did she sacrifice? Henry’s heart. There is no way that Emma loves Hook more than her son. Just last episode Emma, cried over the dreamcatcher after Rumple said you always lose the ones you love most. The implication is that Emma was crying over losing her son after she used Violet to break Henry’s heart. Next, remember how Emma said everyone except Henry had failed her. Finally, just maybe Emma scarified Henry’s heart, but only if Henry willingly took out his own heart to give to his mother, believing that his mother would save him as she did previously in S1. After all, he has the heart of the truest believer and he knows that Snow and Charming share a heart. Emma sacrificing her son’s heart might be the darkest thing yet, and might be why she took away everyone’s memory. Yes, I’m fully prepared to eat my words.
