Thanks for the link obisgirl, thats a very good post. I don’t know if this ship would actually happen, but I do love the similarities, it would be a very poetic ending to the curse. Hopefully Bae and Regina will at least develop a good friendship because they both seem like they need a friend.

smallwhitebutterflyParticipantWow!!! I can’t remember what house was it has been a long time since I read HP. By the way I like you avatar.
Thank you, its one of my favourite Regina ‘looks’.
smallwhitebutterfly wrote: I saw this done somewhere else and thought Harry Potter fans might want to try here. Basically just list the characters of OUAT and what Harry Potter house you think the Sorting Hat would place them into. e.g. Charming – Gryffindor Emma – Gryffindor Rumplestiltskin – Slytherin Baelfire – Hufflepuff Snow White – Hufflepuff Archie – Hufflepuff Belle – Ravenclaw Henry – Ravenclaw
I would agree with most of that except Belle could possibly be in Griffyndor too. Like Hermione, she’s smart enough to be in Ravenclaw but she’s also brave. I would even possibly put Rumple in Grriffyndor too. He’s the character, like Neville, you’d wonder why he was sorted into Griffyndor and not one of the other houses that seems better suited to him,yet it would all make sense in the end.
Good point. I forgot about Nevil. He is brave but is less outgoing than most Griffyndors. I can definitely see Belle as this.
Hook – Gryffindor – because of his bravery and his potential of being a hero in a villian ‘s body like Sirius Black. Sirius could have been evil like his family was but chose not to be. Cora – Slytherin – wanting power and respect and will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Regina – I’m on the fence between Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Depends if she’s acting like the EQ when she more like her mother or acting like her original self or when she was trying to not use magic.
I agree, I don’t think we have seen either Hook or Regina be calculating enough to be in Slytherin. Hook is probably Gryffindor, he tends to be an opportunist taking action when the moment arises instead of producing huge masterplan. And Regina never wanted power or to be queen so she doesn’t have the ambition of a Slytherin.

smallwhitebutterflyParticipantI think they would be cute together, and Henry seemed to want his mum and dad together, but just jumped to the obvious SF (understandably because they have already been together), but with Regina and Neal he can still have that. It does seem like ‘destiny’.
I’ve only seen 3 seasons of Lost, going to start 4 soon, but for anyone who has seen the later seasons, what are the writers like when planning couples (is it always obvious, or the easier option)? I’m only asking because Neal/Regina seems like a twist (which I love but others may not).
Having said that, I assume that the writers have planned the end-game ‘ships’ for their major characters (Emma, Regina, Neal, Hook?? or could these characters be the rhombus that was mentioned somewhere?)
They certainly do seem to have quite a list of parallels. I’m not normally much of a ‘shipper’ so I’m not great at looking for parallels etc, but it would be interesting to see how much they have in relation to other couples/ships. While I re-watch seasons 1 and 2 for the hiatus I will definitely be on the lookout for FireQueen signs.

smallwhitebutterflyParticipant^ You may well be right with Daniel saying “love again” just as Neal makes a proper appearance.
I forgot to say in my earlier post…the dreamcatcher thing is an amazing catch. I had no idea Regina has a dreamcatcher necklace.
The problem, like you said is the lack of interaction. If I hadn’t read the thread I would not have thought of the pairing (maybe the writers don’t want us guessing/shipping them yet – probably not but if it is and they did this on purpose I would be impressed).
Now that i’ve actually realised this is a possibility I will be more on the look out for hints when I re-watch the show during the hiatus.
Haaha yes, Cora wanted Regina broken, that is a very good point.
I think I have just talked myself into shipping FireQueen.

Oh yes I like FireQueen too, very catchy 🙂
Another thing I noticed in ep 18, was Emma, seemed to enjoy the feel of using her magic…a lot- could be pointing at her heading towards developing that, which Neal will Not be comfortable with. If Regina tries to stop using magic & be ‘good’ again, that will appeal to him- not enough to want a romantic relationship with to start with, but its a step towards become friends & so in that direction.
I too like FireQueen
^This is why I worry about the future of SF. Neal is quite anti-magic, (and rightly so given his past,) so Emma exploring her magic, (which is part of who she is so she has every right to,) would be an issue. I’m not against SF but if it happens I would want this issue to be properly addressed rather than ‘it’s ok because it’s Emma using “good magic”‘.

I liked the *idea* of them before (and we really haven’t gotten much interaction to work with them yet still) but I had a couple of thoughts as to why this could be really good! It came from realizing that I’ve shipped Neal 3 times already (Morraine, Wendy, and now Regina) and why this one might stick so here goes:
* Bae is the reason for the curse, Regina is the way Rumple went about getting Bae back
* Bae hates magic & Regina has an issue with magic but is trying to quit for Henry so Neal would be a good inflluence
* Magic has ruined both of their lives
* Neal can be very sweet and reminded me of Daniel when he was first introduced and we know how much she loved Daniel
* Neal & Regina both love Henry
* Regina raised the child that Neal didn’t know he had
* Neal says he has nightmares a lot & clings to dreamcatcers, Regina suffers from nightmares and has a dreamcatcher necklace
* It would help tie up the extended family into one giant but (beautifully dysfunctional) bow
* Neal has hardly any actual knowledge of her as the Evil Queen – he may have heard things and he did see her helping Cora in the pawn shop and with Henry at the well but he doesn’t have nearly *as much* to forget as anybody else would in town so he may actually be able to look past it all and *see her as Regina* which is what she wants
* If Regina is to be redeemed and find love it would make sense it would be someone important and Neal is important to the fabric of the story, especially in his relationships with family members
* They’d both put Henry first
* They’d be a good balance
* It would parallel RumBelle in one being a villain and the other seeing the good in them, helping them to change back to the people they used to beWith how many people wanted Regina to be Rumple’s daughter, I’m surprised more people aren’t shipping this! Can you imagine not only having the Charmings as in-laws but having Regina in there too? *would love to see Rumple’s reaction to that!*
It would also cut down on the number of parents Henry has because *IF* SF doesn’t happen, because presumably Emma, Neal, and Regina would all find loves by the end and then Henry would have 3 sets of parents. If Neal/Regina (whatever we end up calling them) happen then he would have 2 and have all of them there together fairly tight-knit (still hung up on the hilariousness of the Rumple situation though!)
I’ve seen other Regina-ships (Hook/Regina, SwanQueen, Archie/Regina) but tbh, this is (in my opinion) the best one, for all the reasons you mentioned. Rumple is responsible for bringing Dark magic into Regina’s life in order to find Neal, so it would be nice if Neal is the one to undo the damage.
And because of their similar childhoods, they could definitely have a connection (maybe romantic, maybe not):
– Their parents both chose magic over them
– Their parents tried to control their future (Neal was fine to fight, Regina was fine to marry a Stable boy)
– They both wanted a fresh start in a land without magic
– Both were afraid of the parents
– Their other parents failed to step-up. Milah ran away with Pirates, and Regina’s father didn’t seem to do anything (her journey to becoming the ‘evil’ queen was not overnight, he could have stepped in any time).
– They grew up with parents that didn’t love each other (Cora had no heart, Milah didn’t love post-war Rumple)It is hard to predict because we haven’t seen them interact but I don’t see Neal judging Regina too harshly if he knows how much influence his father has had on Regina getting to this point, (I can see him perhaps feeling a little guilty that it was all so Rumple could find him). So, FireQueen is definitely something that the writers could make work, but whether they choose to, I’m not sure.

smallwhitebutterflyParticipantI’d say I think I relate to Aurora the most. She is often underestimated (like when Emma says “don’t take this the wrong way but how the heck did you get here?”) because she a has gentle nature, as do I. Also, I can doubt myself, so when they were going to leave Hook for the Ogres, I noticed when she said “but what if he’s telling the truth”, and that is definitely me. I’m quite trusting of other people and would rarely be 100% sure that I was being lied to. In that situation I would have chosen not to risk the chance that I was leaving someone there who was telling the truth.
I also Identify with Snow, because she puts great pressure on herself to always do the ‘right’ thing, and feels very upset with herself whenever she makes a mistake, which I tend to do too.

I think in addition (or hope) we might see a COULD HAVE moment where maybe Rumble was THISCLOSE to Bae and never knew it. Maybe Bae did know, hid from him, thus making it that more dramatic.
I would love a flashback of something like this. Bae doesn’t seem to be surprised that his father has been looking for him.

Regular status doesn’t mean anything, honestly; both Raphael Sbarge and Meghan Ory were in this show and they were barely used in their seasons, while Claire Holt has never been one in Vampire Diaries and she had more of a storyline than several regulars in that show. What being a regular really brings is a name in the cast credits and more or less guaranteed wage even if you’re not featured in an episode or several.
I’m hoping that with the exception of MRJ–who makes total sense in the overall story–our cast is pretty much set for future seasons. From here on out, which land we happen to be in, the new characters should be guest stars who are relevant to the main characters storyline.
^Agreed!
Also, I think Sarah and Jamie’s shows are both mid-season so they might start production a bit later, leaving them free for the first chunk of episodes. And Colin is already a regular (his contract has already been changed) and I assume is remaining so hence his listing on the description at upfronts but if MRJ is changing his contract it may take time as we have only just had confirmation of a third season, so we may have to wait for any news on this.
