Swan Queen
I do understand what people see Swan Queen, and at times Emma and Regina can be very similar. I often wonder how they both would have turned out had they had each others lives (experiences growing up, this stood out to me when Rumple coached Emma to do the protection spell in 2×16). My only issue is that I’m not sure that they bring out the best in each other, they do not bring out the worst, but not the best either, though this may change as time goes on.HookerQueen
These two can be fun together but so far they haven’t brought out the best in each other at all. I think if the writers are reforming their villains, these two should probably both be further down the road of redemption before getting involved.Other: Evil Cricket
I love how Archie has supported Regina, and he genuinely does seem to care about her past and her feelings so I WOULD be all for this, except he is her therapist. As nice as he is, I want to see Regina open up to some one about her past naturally not because she needs their professional counsel.ThiefQueen
I have never though of this pairing before, and after the end of 2×21 I’m not sure it would actually happen and Regina hasn’t made a great first impression, however its not a bad match. Both are desperately searching for family and Nealfire’s anti-magic could help Regina’s redemption.I don’t actually ‘ship’ characters but I think possibly a new character is best for Regina (but not a villain) or Neal (if he weren’t in love with Emma ~ his personality seems about right).

smallwhitebutterflyParticipantThis is a great idea, MysteryKat I love your analysis, you seem to have a great insight into Emma in particular as a character.
Best Episode The Doctor
Absolutely loved the flashback in this episode, with Rumple, Frankenstein and the Mad Hatter working together, what a great combination of characters. And, it is interesting to see just how much Rumple has affected Regina’s life, and how little he cared about doing so. Also some great character development for Regina in present day, I feel this really was the transition away from a vengeful Regina (until Cora’s death). I am somewhat biased in this choice of episode though because I love Regina.Best Runner-up Second Star to the Right
It was nice to see things more from Nealfire’s perspective because so far we had only seen parts of his story from Rumple and Emma’s point of view. Also it is interesting to find out how important family is to Nealfire as this explains his behaviour as a character (like trying to help Emma “by getting her home”, and probably why he got engaged to Tamara so quickly because he is desperately looking for a family). Family seems to be the reason for his strengths (he is proving to be a good father) and his mistakes.Worst Episode Selfless, Brave and True
I agree with the above posters, this episode was a bit too soapy for me and not enough of the usual fairy tale magic that ONCE has. I understand that the story was told as a way of getting from A to B as it were, but as an individual episode, it is unfortunately my least fave.Worst runner-up The Evil Queen
I love Regina and thought I would love this episode (so I probably had very high hopes) but just didn’t work for me. I enjoyed the flashback for this episode, and I find the relationship between Regina and Snow very interesting, however it was present day that was a let down for me. Regina’s actions didn’t seem to make sense, I understand that they wanted to introduce a device that could destroy Storybrooke and explain how it works but I don’t think having her tell Henry and then remove the memory was the best way to do that, but then again I am probably biased because I hate to see Regina slip so far from her redemption earlier in the season.Keeper of Sidney's Agrabah Vipers, Regina's Curse of the Empty Hearted, Mulan's Poppy Dust, Wonderland's Mellow Marsh, and Nealfire's Lighter

Is it even confirmed that story is meant to be legit? I’m thinking here he could’ve concocted that to get Baelfire to sympathize with him and spill the beans regarding Rumple.
When he first started talking, I was thinking it was heartfelt. By the end of the scene, I was convinced he’d made it up to scam Bae into spilling info. Hook already suspected who Bae was, but he couldn’t straight up ask him, “So, I’m guessing your papa’s Rumple and your mama’s Milah?” So instead he concocted a story for himself that he felt would strike a chord with Bae enough to get him to tell him what he needed to know.
I do think there’s some tragic story to do with Killian’s parents, I’m just not convinced that this was it.
I too have been questioning whether Hook was being honest here. When I first watched it I thought it was genuine but second time round I am more inclined to go with Phee.
However, it could also be possible that he knew his own story would be enough to get Bae talking (so he told the truth), alternatively, he could have seen this as his only chance apart from with Milah (presumably), to be honest about himself. It is difficult to tell because he seemed to be very conflicted between wanting to be good and getting revenge.
I do like this theory and it didn’t even cross my mind that it could have been the same person as Rumple’s father. They would have to add another seat to the Thanksgiving dinner table.

The actor playing Mulan was a stand-in for Jamie Chung.
I’m pretty sure that Bae fell through to Fairytale Land / Enchanted Forrest as this scene was set in that land.
It sure looks like EF. Is it the person who throws the bean who controls where it goes or the person who goes through??
Not that it really matters, I assume Nealfire told Tamara all about the EF when he showed her the book.Keeper of Sidney's Agrabah Vipers, Regina's Curse of the Empty Hearted, Mulan's Poppy Dust, Wonderland's Mellow Marsh, and Nealfire's Lighter
