ParticipantMy favorite batch of characters are Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin, Belle, Charming and Snow. But if I had to choose only one, I’d have to go with Mr. Gold/Rumpelstiltskin. No matter how much pain and misery he caused throughout the Enchanted Forest, I can’t help but connect and sympathize with him. I love the theme of “magic isn’t born, it’s made.” I feel like this concept fits Rumpel/Gold perfectly.

ParticipantPersonally, I think his intentions were genuine. I think the scene was written to portray to very simple ideas. One, Belle’s influence over Mr. Gold has been working and he’s trying to be a better man. And two, the show is trying to build a close relationship between Mr. Gold and Henry. Like most have already said, Mr. Gold is probably Henry’s grandfather, so it would make sense for the writers to begin building that relationship now.
The show has been going out of its way to redeem its current villains, Regina and Rumpel. So, I think this was just another example of how much Mr. Gold is trying to change. This is the second time he’s helped someone without asking for a price. I think that’s the message the writers were trying to portray.

Participant^I think his favor is going to be for Emma to find Baelfire. Mr. Gold can’t leave Storybrooke without losing his memory, so he’ll probably send Emma out to look for Bae. I seriously doubt Mr. Gold would use Emma’s favor for anything less. His whole reason for creating the curse was so that he could find Baelfire, so finding Baelfire will probably be on Emma’s to do list once she comes back from the Enchanted Forest.

ParticipantFavorite Moments:
-Red’s reaction to accidently killing her own mother. Poor thing was heartbroken. 😥-Mr. Gold helping Henry control his nightmares. I always had a feeling that Mr. Gold had a soft spot for Henry.
-All of Belle’s scenes. That girl is my heart. 😀
-The moment when we actually think that Charming was going to shoot King George.
Least Favorite Moments:
-The moment we realize that he wasn’t going to shoot King George. Seriously, someone needs to throw that guy onto a speeding highway. ASAP.November 10, 2012 at 5:43 am in reply to: Wow! Huge clue to Neal’s identity on the wall in store??? #160159snowfalls
ParticipantOMG! Good eye! I never would have caught that. That is huge! 😮

ParticipantBest wishes to Michael Raymond James tonight! Hopefully, he’ll be in more than one episode this season. And if he turns out to be Baelfire, then I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of him in the future. 😉

ParticipantHa ha! The evil trio. I hope they all team up in Storybrooke at some point. That would be fun to watch. 😀

I didn’t sense any sexual/romantic tension between the two of them, personally. And sorry if that does offend, but he didn’t seem the least interested in Emma, other than the fact that she is a possible key to bringing him to Storybrooke. 🙂 He has his sight set on revenge–both for Milah and for his hand. He may not have mentioned her, but I think that is mostly due to this being a personal matter, and nor would he want any of the four women to know his full story. Just the bits and pieces.
I can see Captain Hook flirting with her, but most likely in a joking manner, or in a way to distract and disgust her, so that she does not pay attention when he tries to double-cross her.
Also, I can’t help but feel bad for Henry if Rumpelstiltskin is his grandfather–he already has Regina, who may or may not succeed in her path of redemption, to deal with. Kinda hoping that Baelfire is not the father.
I’m ok with the strange family relations that will arise from Baelfire possibly being Henry’s father. But to be fair, I usually gravitate towards the more disturbing storylines on any show, so I’m not sure if I’m a good enough judge on this matter. 😆

I think she’ll treat Mr. Gold like she treats Regina. But since Emma has been missing from Storybrooke for the past few episodes, I’m not sure what her relationship with Regina is like now. Last time we saw them together, Emma was saving Regina. So, it’s anyone’s guess. If Emma can go from wanting to kill Regina during the finale, to saving her in the season premiere, then anything is possible.
Very good point. The relationships in Storybrooke are remarkably fluid. Emma went from wanting to rip Regina’s hair out to saving her, Regina went from wanting to kill Emma to all of a sudden wanting redemption, Charming was angry with Mr. Gold for creating the curse, but then we saw him willingly help him find Belle in last week’s episode. He helped Regina in last night’s episode too.
It’s hard to tell at this point. I think Emma will definitely be upset and very afraid of having Rumpel for an in law, but I can’t help but acknowledge the show’s lack of realistic family relations. Like you said, the relationships go up and down so often, that by the end of the season, Mr. Gold and Emma could wind up being allies.
And of course, there’s the issue of Regina and Rumpel seeking redeption for the sake of their loved ones. With Cora and Hook on the way, I think Regina and Rumpel will look like Mother Teresa and the Pope in comparison. 😆

ParticipantAww, Swanfire. I love that nickname. 😀
Hook will flirt, but that’s as far as it’ll go. Emma is quick to pull a blade on a guy. The girl doen’t mess around. 😯
