I wish so much I were a show writer. I think that’d have to be the coolest job in the world; being able to pull the strings that way, and basically that kind of power to create anything I want. Maybe someday, if God wills it….probably not, but I can dream! 😉
You and me both! I just think right now, this season, it’s not yet time for Hook totake his center stage. I think he will develop as Bae takes his place in Storybrooke. Don’t forget, Belle was hardly in season one too(and I wonder if the writers had planned the Rumbelle like this, I think the writers reacted on our love for them and that does not make the best storyline, I sometimes feel like the Rumbelle is rushed to please us viewers, a few seconds of airtime woven in to keep us happen) So please let them set the pace, tell the story and do it right. Which means they first have to handle Cora before moving on
spinninggoldParticipantThe thing that creeps me out about Cora is that every time she pretends to be loving and understanding, she comes across as totally believeable, but it turns out to be a lie. And them there is the scene where she says to Regina: You don’t know about all the deals I had to make to get you back (or something like that). And it just sounded sooo possesive, not at all loving.
Oh another pondering… Where is Cora’s heart?spinninggoldParticipantYou have much to watch, young padawan. 😆
Actually, Robert Carlyle swearing his f-ing block off is a lot more natural than him being respectable in a tie-and-suit. Plus he is usually at the bottom of the pile, he is street scum, not the guy that’s on top. I think it is why I did not immediately recognize him, but was thinking “I know you and I like you, but who are you again?”. Swearing in European movies is a lot less frowned upon as it is in American, and to me it is not that irritating (Though Once upon a time in the Midlands might cross that line even for me.. but he looked so cute, it was still worth it)
We will start you off easy: Go find yourself ‘Mary Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing and Charm School” (he even gets a suit for the occasion) and ‘Plunkett and Macleane’…. we will get to the hard stuff later.
You know I realise I have seen him go psycho in several roles ( I have even seen human trafficking) but he does so well that I have not even recognized him.spinninggoldParticipant@LaurieAnne wrote:
I love the idea of Perdita’s “mom” being a love interest for Archie. The 101ship!! I am wondering:
How did Regina lose custody of Henry? I have watched those episodes to try to gain understanding but it seems as if, once Emma returned from FTL, it was just assumed that Henry would live with Emma instead of Regina. Did the breaking of the curse nullify the adoption? Or was there not an official adoption? Did Regina just “obtain” Henry from Rumple (with help I am sure) and not do it legally?I think poisoning him with the apple turnover that was meant for Emma and nearly killing him made the adoption null and void. After that, even if she wanted Henry back, no one in town would have supported her, and since Henry wanted to be with his family, no one questioned it. She might still legally be his mother, but there is no way she could enforce this with the town against her.
The really creepy question is what does her mother want from her? She is truly heartless in every way, and I have the creepy suspicion that she has something to gain from Regina. I get the creepy feeling she does not just want rule her daughter’s life, but that when the time comes, she wants to become her, as in kill her and take over her body.
spinninggoldParticipantI agree with everything you just said there SerDragon, and I think the reason Rumpel is getting more screentime this season is because his finding his son is elementary to solving the curse, the whole reason for the curse is him finding his son. So it is elementary to the story (for which I honestly admit I am very happy, because seeing Robert Carlyle act is an absolute joy)
And I am happy you all agree with me, but my question about what people expect from Hook was serious, because this is not the first time it was mentioned.
I don’t remember who, but somebody said in the flook threadthat they were disappointed with Hook not being the character they expected him to be and even before that people complaining that he has no depth, but I think he is living up to my expectations pretty well even exceding them (maybe because I was dead set on hating him because he wants to hurt Rumpel, and yet I kinda appreciate him nonetheless) I think Colin is doing a fine job, making someone that unlikeable as Hook likeable and charming, a sorta of Jack Sparrow on a day he is not drunk. He makes me laugh in the airtime he has got, and through his flamboyant actions makes sure OuaT does not become another high drama soap opera. He injects some much needed humor with his witty comebacks, and keeps the show lively (as well as explores his love affair with the floor) He’s outrageous, a scoundrel, but that’s the whole point. That’s why he is loveable. And his back story, for the moment, does not matter, it does not further the story. Tiny’s will, just like Cinderella’s did last season. Emma needed to make a deal with mr Gold. Storybrooke now needs those beans and his arrival needed to happen around the same time as mr Bean’s Greg Mendell. I’m sure we will get to Hook’s past eventually though.
So… why the hurry, Hook fans? And why change him? Did you just fall in love with his looks? Because to me he is just fine as he is.
Or can’t you get over the fact that you have fallen for the bad guy in the story and want to see him rehabilitated because of that? Yes, he’s a bad boy… Deal with it, bad boys are fun, especially in stories. Take it from someone that loves anti-heroes and bad boys in stories… it does not mean you are bad or that you have to find a bad boy in real life.Just that you have taste and depth 😆
spinninggoldParticipantIf Bae was in Neverland as has been stongly hinted in one of the promos, could Rumple have reached there using Jefferson’s hat, thus avoiding the use of the dark curse?
I think it might have to do (or at least, writers if you are reading this you can use it) … A seer sees across time, but in Neverland there is no time. So Rumpel could not see him when he was there, only when he’s on earth.
I’m more surprised that Rumpel is not in the least surprised that Smee and Hook are still alive. And Rumpel dear, did you not say you never break a deal? Deal with Smee was that if he did not deliver, you’d turn the clock forward and turn him to dust. Why then did you turn him into a rat instead?
Oh and I am curious, if Archie has Pongo, than who has Perdita? And when will she and Archie fall in love? Anyone join me for a 101-ship? 😆 Would make a lovely filler episode in season 3, maybe together with a spoof, where the characters all sit down on Archie’s couch to bemoan how Disney misrepresents them, ending with Perdita’s boss.spinninggoldParticipantTo be honest I haven’t got a clue Jolly Roger, but I can’t find anything that suggests a log in, so in a little less then 9 hours, just log in here: http://new.livestream.com/paleycenter/onceuponatime2013 Maybe get there 15 minutes early, to ensure your puter is up for it. And of course close down as many other programs as you can, you don’t want whatever your puter is running to accidentally break up the livestream, just as Colin (I presume your favourite) is answering a question.
Seeing you live in Australia, for now I wish you sweet dreams. Off to bed with you, you’ll be getting up (way too) early. 😆
