Medchen, lovely sig. quote!
31 come wednesday
Pisces (really I think this question needs added: Starsign)
SingleRumbelle (though I would go for a RumMarySue too 😆 )
Rumpel is my favourite tragic hero, and Belle is a lovely lady. Best wardrobe too, after Regina. I really hope Regina gets some love, from somebody… Anybody except Sidney, he’s just creepy in his love for her. Maybe he can find someone else and get rid of his obsession.[adrotate group="5"]spinninggoldParticipantI kinda get bad chills from the word merchandise. It gives me scary horror scenarios of OuaT duvets, pens, gum, and whatever other tacky stuff you can think of.
It’s the fact that a lot of fans make their own stuff which I love. Chipped cup rings, rumpel’s knife, Hans & Gretel’s gingerbread house, knit your own Snow hat. It has much more value than anythin that can be bought. The Book would be a good exception… and maybe Rumpel’s knife because its so hard to make (yet, I have seen it done) So a limited edition of QUALITY key pieces from the show. And maybe for charity they could make a Storybrooke postcard range? Like the one Neal got in the first episode, but then make a range out of it.
And maybe an OuaT knitting pattern book to make it easy on us knitters….
But please, nothing tacky.

Someone in another thread mentioned the idea of post-partum depression. That’s not a bad idea. Her fears of their future, the taunts from the neighbours, being isolated in the village and alone…. Gives her time to mull over things incessantly and become bitter. That could explain her 180 in personality.
That would have been me…Still, in 4 years(rough estimate looking at Bae) she should have gotten over that. And at best it is grasping at straws for the plot hole the writers left. I mean it is not a logical fitting reason in the story itself.
spinninggoldParticipantHmm, more I think about it, the more I see world without color work. You could have great crossovers with Jules Verne stories, Sherlock Holmes, and even Dracula if you focus more on the Van Helsing side… Few dark tales like the headless horseman. Focus on victorian horror stories instead of fairy tales. Add a bit of Steampunk in the mix (subtitle of Frankenstein was the Modern Prometheus, and that is the god of science)
And seeing the limited cross-overs with FTL you could put a seperate team on, so no problems that it takes away from OuaT
Maybe I should do a pitch? 😆spinninggoldParticipantWell … that’s easily solved… Peter Pan travels between our world an Neverland… Every time he comes here, he ages…Problem solved, Peter gets older.
As for Black and white World, the dark way of storytelling would set a great mood. Sherlock is set dark, and it works perfectly. I would think B&W would be more mature than OuaT. Actually Frankenstein could double up as Sherlock or Watson and it would work…If Disney can get the rights. Rumor has it that Graham/ the Huntsman was suposed to be the huntsman, but they could not get the rights (luckily, I love Jamie, but Sherlock would have fit him)

I think my other concern about a spin off is that H and K would have to split their focus as showrunners of two shows. I fear that they’d be so focused on making this spin off a success that OUaT would suffer. Season 3 is pretty much a guarantee but not season 4. Is that selfish of me?
Nope! I completely agree… And at the moment, Storybrooke and Wonderland are so interwoven I think they would need to spread themselves very thin… Not to mention the actors doing both series.
I get them wanting to cash in to the success before the momentum is gone. And maybe that’s true… But I would hate to see both series suffer.February 23, 2013 at 1:44 pm in reply to: Disney and beyond – fairy tales / fantasy on screen #175070spinninggoldParticipantAnd don’t forget Romualdo, the prince charming, that gets lost every movie. hehehe.
There are some funny paralels between Fantaghiro and OuaT
Just look at Brigitte Nielsen as Evil Queen. I mean, hello sister of Regina
Think the writers watched? Well, the acting of OuaT is a lot better. Though the overacting in Fanthaghiro was such FUN.
My favourite bit would be in movie 4 though… Tarabas coming out of the water
Yes I am as shallow as the pool he swam in 😆 😆 😆spinninggoldParticipant@NONNIE wrote:
]I think her character is written to convey what is needed at the moment in the scene… just to get sympathy for Rumple and move the story along. LAZY WRITING. I think the writing is being pushed to move the stories along because the main criticism last year from critics is that the arks were too slow in unfolding.
Yes I think the writers AND actors could have done themselves an ENORMOUS service if they had added a mere 30 seconds of airtime to Milah’s story where we are shown her doubt in the marriage as Rumpel goes to war. It could have even have been conveyed in a mere glance. Now she seems to love him… Now it could just be that she saw Robert Carlyle and was overwhelmed by the lovely guy he is… we can’t blame a girl for that 😆 😆 😆 … But some doubt, resentment or hint of that she just married him for other reasons would have made the whole scene work. Just a hint to let the viewer know the 180 was coming.
spinninggoldParticipantAh I see this thread was posted just a tiny bit earlier. I’ll repost my comment here:
Hmmmm. Nope, not a fan of this… It’s too early for a spin-off. And without Sebastian Stan I don’t see the point. The guy makes the role, it would weaken the whole series, OuaT included if they did this. Isn’t Neverland a better suggestion? Make it target a younger audience, with Bae growing up there, like dr Who and spinoff the Sarah Jane Adventures. There’s a lot of story potential there, not to mention Hook has a BIG fanbase.
Hmmm or Frankenstein’s world… it could be the dark equivalent like Torchwood. I mean his world seems rather creepy, compaired to the others. And Anders has this analytical Benedict Cumberbatch quality about him (Sherlock) that could really make that work. Making the same series over and over, like they do with CSI is rather pointless… not to mention annoying, I can never tell which version I am watching. You already have OuaT, so if you make something new, make it different.
Let them wait till Sebastian is available if they really want to do this.(sorry for anyone not knowing what dr Who is. It’s a British SF series… where the US does not save the world, but we all get saved by an alien on a weekly basis. It’s very refreshing. Try it some day. 😆 )
