ParticipantI used to enjoy talking about theories and what not in general discussion but the reality is, I and none of my CS fellow ‘shippers can really do that anymore because we’re the minority on this site and it’s really sad. I love the forums and I always will but the environment around here, it’s over the point now where we have to censor ourselves from saying anything to keep the status quo. It’s really uncomfortable and stifling feeling. Before this ‘shipper stuff got out of hand, we used to have open, polite conversations and sadly, it’s not like that anymore. Articles like today, I try and comment on the stuff that isn’t ‘shippy related but all it takes, is for someone to rant about how this is being promoted and what not and it blows up. Here’s what I propose, instead of shutting down theories from the opposite side, take a step, let us voice our opinion. This is an open forum and quite frankly, it hasn’t felt very open lately. And can we all just remember, this is just a show and we’re not the ones who write it. Adam and Eddie and their staff of writers do, and they are going to write it how they want to because this is their fanfiction.
totally agree great post Obisgirl 🙂

ParticipantAs for Hook turning up at Emma’s door, I don’t dislike Hook, I just dislike what he did to Belle and Rumple, I’m a RumBeller first and foremost so Hook is quite a divisive character for me. I can ship Tallahassee Hook with Emma but not The Outsider Hook.
well I’d say the Hook Killian is being now is way more Tallahassee than Outsider. through the whole Neverland arc he’s tried to do good. Charming toasted him a hero! Aside from that look at his attitude toward Rumple’s sacrifice Outsider Hook would have been over elated perhaps even helped Pan. This Hook looked like he genuinely felt bad at seeing Rumple “die” like that. The most “wrong” thing Hook’s done this season is make a pass at Tink while he was feeling down about having stepped aside for Bae to have a fair chance. Of course the situation changed so it was impossible for him to let Emma just go from his life without telling her something of how he feels for her So we get the goodbye we saw.
I think if Killian felt that Emma would bring more danger to herself or her family by coming back he would just leave her in her happy ending with Henry. For him to come back aside from his love for her they must really need Emma’s help. Neal not being there is anybody’s guess I would have thought both would go after her. Even if Emma and Neal are more platonic now I don’t think he’d leave Henry if he had a chance to get to him. He doesn’t want to leave his son without a father. Something had to have gone into it being Hook to come back, he may love her but she also has her parents why didn’t one of them come back? Hook must have been in a position where he was their best chance to bring back Emma to help them all.

ParticipantAHAHAHAHAHA I JUST READ THE SPOILER ARTICLE OMG “IT’S NOT WHY HOOK” IT’S HOW AND WHEN BECAUSE THE REASON IS ALREADY FRIGGING OBVIOUS TO ANYONE WITH SKILLS OF COMPREHENSION HAHAHAHA I’M FINE
You know I love hearing the reason so much why don’t you say what that is again? lol

ParticipantOkay but can we just appreciate…
that in one interview, Adam and Eddy put on their best troll faces and go WELL THERE’S A VERY GOOD REASON WHY NEAL’S NOT THERE and then in another interview PRETTY MUCH THE NEXT FREAKING DAY, they’re all, IT’S NOT ABOUT WHY HOOK IS THE ONE THERE. REALLY. THIS IS SO SELF EXPLANATORY THAT WE’RE NOT GONNA SPELL IT OUT EVEN FOR THE PEANUT THROWERS IN THE CHEAP SEATS.
In other words, the very good reason why Neal’s not there (lololololol) is because Hook is Emma’s true love and we ain’t exactly being subtle about it.

ParticipantI know a lot of people still claim that Neal did not let Emma go to prison but the WRITER of the show said:
“In Emma’s current mind the last time she saw Neal, that guy f––ing let her go to jail,” Kitsis points out. “She doesn’t have the benefit of re-meeting him in New York.”
So when will you just accept the fact that Neal let her go to prison even if he didn’t make the call? It still happened. Thanks, bye.

ParticipantI agree with most of your points @jenna_b . I was thinking today about a line Emma said in season two after reuniting with Neal. I think it was in Tiny, when he was walking with Emma to a car. “Please don’t tell me you’re going to hot wire this thing.” Emma and Neal were thieves together, they worked well as a team then but yeah, Emma’s not the same girl anymore. She’s grown up, she’s matured. She doesn’t steal anymore or hot wire cars. She’s moved past that phase of her life and in a sense, already moved past Neal. With Belle, I’m a rumbelle ‘shipper too and I love Belle, but yeah, the amazing thing about her, is what an incredible forgiving a person she is. She rarely holds grudges against people who have wronged her. She practically begged Rumple in Broken not to go after Regina after she had her locked up in the insane asylum for 28 years of the curse. Same goes what Hook did to her. Belle doesn’t dwell on stuff like that because she’s okay now and she’s a forgiving person. And here’s something else I’ve learned about Once, if something isn’t referenced from before in the present, generally, it means it’s not important anymore. Things however that get continually brought up, like Neal abandoning Emma and her issues, that stuff is important. Hook leaving her behind in the jail cell in The Queen of Hearts, it’s not important because Emma realized in that scene that she made a mistake not trusting him and it cost her. She got it. Over all, I’ve found the people who bring up Hook hurt Belle and he needs to forgive her, or the jail scene even though neither have been mentioned lately as a main story point, are the same people who need to continually find reasons to hate Hook. But you know what? I really don’t care anymore. Once Prince Charming toasts you as a hero, it’s like being blessed by the Pope. You are blessed for life. Hook is a hero and real contender for Emma’s heart. That is the reality. He isn’t the villain anymore either.
I’ve noticed the same thing, they like to swell on that and on Hook challenging Rumple to a duel before he was powerful. I’m in complete agreement with you he’s redeemed outside of being Rumbelle’s villain he wasn’t much of one to begin with anyway.
