Participantomg you cs shippers are soooo dumb Neal left Emma to give her her BEST chance just like Snow and Charming it’s a parallel!!!
That’s not a parallel because going to jail was honestly Emma’s worst chance. Snow and Charming sent Emma away because if they didn’t she would’ve been cursed and they would’ve been in SB like that forever. Neal, on the other hand, put his girlfriend’s life into the hands of a stranger who was shady all because he knew his name!? That is not the responsible thing to do, or the right thing to do. It shouldn’t have been his or August’s or anyone’s decision except Emma’s.They think they’re doing what’s best for Emma? Why don’t they just ask her? it comes down to the fact that Emma going to jail backfired. Emma was supposed to come to SB on her 28h birthday with August at her side, already believing in magic and having accepted her role as the savior. Ready to do whatever it took to break the curse, but August left her. Then Neal came along and he was her first love and August thought, okay, why don’t we get her arrested because the system’ll straighten her out and in ten years she’ll break the curse and Neal agreed, because the alternative was staying with her and facing his dad. He wasn’t willing to do that. So, Emma comes to SB with no knowledge of magic, the lowest self-esteem of any character probably ever, and scoffing at even the idea of being the savior. August failed in his job as Emma’s “guardian angel” and then Neal failed in his job as being her boyfriend.
Honestly I could care less about the reasons Neal did what he did, and Emma doesn’t either. It doesn’t change what he did, or somehow make it okay. There is nothing to justify it because it was wrong and awful and when it’s someone as insecure and damaged as Emma it makes it a thousand times worse. If you think Emma is going to forgive him because it was her “best chance,” go and watch 2×01, where Emma explicitly states that even though her parents gave her up to give her her best chance, it doesn’t change the fact that, for her entire life, she’s been alone. Just like the fact that Neal thought he was doing the right thing doesn’t change the fact that he abandoned her and she went to jail for his crimes, thinking that he had never even loved her and used her so he could get away scot free. That thought is a damaging thought to have- that you aren’t worthy of love, and that you yourself can’t love. It killed Emma’s hope, Emma’s innocence, Emma’s spirit- pilot! Emma is one of the hardest things to watch because she is so broken and sad and it is all because of Neal. If he hadn’t sent her to jail, she wouldn’t have been the person she was then.
This argument shouldn’t even be brought up anymore. I know this answer is very messy, but it served it’s purpose and refuted your ridiculous argument. Whenever someone tries to argue this, all of my shipmates come together in a surge of anger and just smack it down with logic and reality and canon and it’s beautiful to watch because honestly, the people arguing this are just really really dumb. Trying to make this argument is quite honestly asking for it- you’re ignoring canon fact. So, no, going to jail was not Emma’s best chance, but quite the opposite.

ParticipantWhy would Hook sign his journals as Killian Jones or KJ instead of as just Killian?
They’re all signed differently some are “KJ”, some are “Killian” and some are just “K” I get too caught up in the idea of Killian writing all these messages to Emma to dwell on that too much though 😛

ParticipantHaters are just making up arguments, using twilight writing logic and trying to apply it to OUAT, to make Hook looks like the pure product of fangirls needing bad romance, giving no credit to the writers as talented persons capable to write an original character whose heart got broken too much to the point it drove him crazy before love made him find his way back to his best self.
Isn’t what they are trying to do with every villain so far (though I would hardly consider Hook as one pure villain), but Regina and Rumple follow that same pattern, love drove them crazy, Daniel, Milah, Bae, loosing them made them villain, made them lost their true selves, before love made them find their way back, Belle for Rumple, Henry (at some extend) made Regina find her way back. It’s pretty much what has been happening to Killian.
I hate how this fandom makes it look like Emma isn’t supposed to be the one making him feel better about himself, if anything, I saw it more with SQ and ST, than anything else, Emma is supposed to make Regina feel better about herself or supposed to make Neal feel less guilty about sending her to jail. The thing is, it’s not what is happening with Hook, Killian and Emma, Emma doesn’t say much, doesn’t do much, but her presence, the person she is makes him feel something, she alone makes the difference, without her trying, and that is why it is so perfect, Emma felt unworthy, not enough, Killian loving her for who she is only makes all the difference, he loves her, just Emma, and all she is, lost girl, savior, mother, fighter, and she doesn’t give him any salvation, he doesn’t find redemption with her, he just loves her, and it’s enough, Emma is enough….
