I had this theory I posted in another thread:
Now I guess it was assumed that Emma was magical because she was the savior the only one who could break the curse, she’s the product of the true love of Charming and Snow the humanized version of the true love potion as it were. Then also in Lady of the Lake we saw that Snow and Charming both drank the magical water from the Lake as part of their secret wedding for Charming’s mother. So with that I know this sounds like a stretch but those two types of magic mixing is almost the same as how Rumplestilskin mixed the true love potion with the water of magical underground lake that runs under Storybrooke to bring magic. Emma really could be the product of two very powerful types of magic true love & the water of the lake.

^^^^ Cora seemed pretty surprised that he had Auora’s heart, it seems like there’s more to this situation. More to how he was actually able to take the heart.

It’s pretty sad though that he’d do that knowing the risk ie he’d have to leave the town with out a leader and more importantly he’d have to leave Henry with Regina.

Yeah, I think that’s very possible. If you listen to the latest official ABC podcast for 2×8, Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis said that Captain Hook really meant what he said to Emma and was really hurt by Emma’s betrayal in 2×6. While they said that Hook is a man who finds it difficult to forgive, I have a feeling that he ultimately will forgive Emma. I think Hook really fancies Emma, so he’ll be more sympathetic. He could just be placating Cora so that she doesn’t kill him or leave him behind, but I highly doubt he favors working with Cora over Emma. Also, it’s unclear how exactly Hook came by Aurora’s enchanted heart since he’s not a magician as far as we know. I doubt he want to kill Aurora though, and hopefully, he wants her to survive. One theory I read is that Maleficent might have taken Aurora’s heart when she was under the sleeping curse, but Hook somehow acquired the heart. What I keep thinking about in regards to the heart and how they said Hook has to compete against his more magical and powerful villainous counterparts is he was to rely on his wits he has to best them strategically. How he’s been able to set up the pieces here possibly against Cora is a tribute to that. Cora’s big mistake was leaving him alive now it seems like he has slipped his way into having the upper hand in all this and I think he’ll use his advantage to help Emma in the end. I loved her reaction to the message Cora was feeding through Aurora that was priceless 😀

When I saw Emma locked in the cell and Hook get up close to her my first thought is that he slipped her something to help her escape. I have a similar thought process and the CaptainSwan fan in me wants it to play out this way, I really want Hook to come through for Emma and help her defeat Cora. I think if Hook does something extreme that helps beat Cora and allows them to return to Storybrooke she’ll allow him to come with them and that may be his plan all along. It seems to me Hook was telling the truth he feels uneasy about Cora and would rather her not get to Storybrooke. I think Hook will come through for Emma I think some part of of him does care for her and at least that first message was genuine.
Well the original Grimm book the Snow White in that story isn’t the same Snow White and Rose Red is her sister. They way I’m looking at things trying to fit that story to the show is just that Snow White is Snow White and Red is Rose Red and like has been said in the show the stories in Henry’s book aren’t the stories in the traditional sense so what Henry has in the book is the story of how Red and Snow met, how they found out Red was the wolf, then how they met Red’s mother and subsequently the things that happend after between them. Trying to relay the Grimm story to any further a degree than that won’t really work.
