I had a dream involving Hook last night. He was helping some random woman with her shopping into her animal rescue van. She asked his name and he was about to reply “Hook” when instead he said “Killian Jones” and the woman gave him her number. Then Hook was helping two teenagers get together. The girl wanted to be with the boy but couldn’t unless she had permission from her parents. The boy wanted to be with the girl so Hook took it upon himself to propose a deal to the parents. The mother completely disagreed and didn’t want the boy anywhere near the girl. The father wanted his daughter to be happy. Hook had a scrap of paper with the deal conditions on, the father disagreed with one of the conditions, so Hook changed it, and the father happily signed the agreement. Hook rushed back to the boy with the signed permission whilst being chased by momrats which had been released by the mother. All the while Hook went by the name “Killian Jones”. Whilst not a Hook fan, it would appear he is starting to grow on me. Vote for Once ships! Once needs You!

Update from the tournament the numbers seem to be staying solid for everyone and though it might be a bit premature with a day to go still but I think it’s safe to say you’ve made it through the first round! So congrats shipmates! 🙂
Well they’re showing up for Snowing in this round against a pretty strong a opponent. A show in it’s last season is a tough out even tougher when it’s the ship fans of the show are most crazy about this year. This really is a positive sign that so many of the Oncers are helping each other because we’re gonna need a lot of us standing together to beat some of these ships.
Thought I’d check in for everyone with a voting update we’re holding at 65% doing well 2 more days of this round I’m sure we can hold on until then. I’m so happy so many of my shipmates are helping us in this contest and how good the reception has been to supporting all the Once ships in the tournament. I’ve been through this thing before and truthfully having the most popular ships on the show was the best thing that could have happened for all our ships. Working together we can team up and take out the tougher competition believe me it’s just as important that our other ship make it through each round so keep up those votes across the board 🙂
^^^ Actually PoM Stelena doesn’t look like they’re gonna make it through and something happened that has a lot of TVD fans abandoning ship so that bodes well for us. Swan Queen is strong they’ll be able to beat anything in front of them if they have even a little bit of support. Right now I like our Sweet 16 odds across the board but after that it’s just gonna be hard as heck. I hope we all stick together if the notes from my captions are any indicator there’s at least some shippers receptive to it.
You know I don’t get the whole “Hook’s redemption storyline is going way too fast”, even from a purely storyline perspective. Why does every villain have to have a long and drawn out redemption arc? I am also hearing that people are hoping that the WWW is going to REMAIN evil because they are tired of all the villains turning “good.” I actually agree, but that’s also why I don’t understand why Hook can’t be a character who literally met his true love, realized that he no longer wanted to be the villain he became, and decided to go back to the person he used to be. His storyline is unique in that he is having to convince people that he is NO LONGER a villain as opposed to one who is struggling with whether he wants to be one or not. Without differing villain storyline this show would get old really fast. That’s why, as horrendous as Pan was, his villain story was unique – he literally had no redemptive qualities at all – even right up until the end, unlike Cora right at her death, he was still evil. Both Emma and Hook are fiercely loyal to their families – unfortunately their definition of “family” has not been traditional because of the events that have unfolded in their lives. They both made choices that have negatively affected their lives because of being “left” by people they loved and considered their family (whether by choice or not). Everyone on this show has their own “path” to a happy ending. Just like in real life, some people “get it” faster than others when they realize they need to turn their life around and make some major changes. Some people are literally able to wake up one day and, cold turkey, realize what they need to do and never look back again. Some people struggle for years and NEVER get there. I don’t see why the show shouldn’t portray anything different.
Awesome post! I don’t get it either to me Hook’s redemptive arc which coincidentally follows his dalliance with Emma has been the one love story where every moment between the couple has been played out before our eyes without flashbacks. It’s really been beautiful to see develop scene by scene. To go back and see where their relationship started and then to see where it is now and where it’s headed. I think it’s been the best love story on the show cause of how well it’s been developed.
