It’s easier for the haters to believe that is evil than to believe that he’s done with that. Because it’s easier to get people to hate something than to believe.

Lol did u just go Peter Pan on us? šŸ™‚

The shield that Killian hits with the bone and comes out from behind to help Emma has a helm on it. A shield is a symbol of protection and obviously the helm points to Killian is Captain Hook, the pirate. He is showing Emma that he wants to help her and protect her by drawing the giant’s attention to him and there is a blatant piece of symbolism in the shot!!!!!!

How are we still finding these things in these old episodes? Like how many are there? Well done guys. And well spotted OP.

It has a ship’s wheel in the middle of it. I’m not imagining that right?? It looks….like the helm of a ship! And is a symbol of protection WHILE HE’S PROTECTING HER. [x]

Very interesting symbolism never crossed my mind before šŸ™‚

Re-watching Good Form…seriously, how do you watch this epi and still think that Hook is actually evil? Or capable of doing the WW’s dirty work? How do you not get it?! I need it to be a week from now. Like immediately.

well we’ll see what Hook bringing back Emma’s memories will do for that šŸ˜‰

Haha and I’m going to post this pic of Colin, Jared and Sean as the url because 1) I don’t know how to embed tweets and am too lazy to look it up, and 2) I like the comments. Hahaha, the 2 step daddies. Colin’s tweeting! https://twitter.com/b_jge/status/440237368264884224/photo/1

    Hook/Emma true love

I’ve heard of a lot of people saying that captain swan is unbelievable or too rushed, and it just really confuses me tbh and highlights that there’s quite a lot of double standards going on in the fandom. If the writers are heading in the direction of Emma and Hook being true love (which I, personally, hope they are) then I actually think it will be one of the more developed and believable true loves that they’ve done on the show.

Snow and Charming, the epitome of true love, met and fell in love on one journey. Snow stole from him, they teamed up to retrieve the lost goods, they talked, got to know one another, defeated the trolls, and then parted ways. But in that short time of knowing one another, they fell in love- true love. They fell so much in love that he wrote to her asking if she would like to run away with him. All this after only meeting once and yet everyone can accept that they are true love, including myself. Which is understandable because this is Fairy Tale Land where true love is a thing that actually happens.

Ariel rescues Eric from a shipwreck and falls in love with him on sight. Eric doesn’t even see Ariel, but he dreams of her, and then when he does see her at the ball he falls in love with her on sight, as well. They fall so much in love that he asks her to come away with him as he travels around the world. They have spoken for the duration of a single dance but they are clearly true love.

Tinkerbell tells Regina that her true love, Robin Hood, is in the tavern and all Regina has to do is go in. We see her hesitate at the door before changing her mind and leaving. No-one calls bullshit on the fact that all they would have to do is look at one another and they would be true love.

Milah and Hook met for one, brief night in tavern, where they were surrounded by Hook’s entire crew. They drank, and Hook regaled Milah with stories of the sea and they fell in love. They fell into such a great love that Milah felt like she could leave her unhappy life with her family and find true happiness with Hook, which she did.

Rumple and Cora met for one night where he taught her how to spin gold. They fell in love. They were so in love that Rumple was willing to have a child with her. So in love that Cora had to rip her own heart out because of her feelings for him. He was ā€œthe only man she had ever truly loved (2×16)ā€, and she fell in love with him in that one night.

Cinderella and Prince Thomas met and fell in love at the ball.

Now, on to Hook and Emma. They, like Snow and Charming, meet on a journey and they, like Snow and Charming, do not begin this journey as friends. Hook and Emma are separated from the group and spend 10 hours together on this adventure. They talk and a connection is already established; ā€œyou’re something of an open book (2×06).ā€ Like Snow and Charming, they work together to defeat the obstacles and retrieve what they wanted. Emma then leaves Hook chained atop the beanstalk because she can feel herself wanting to trust him but is afraid to; a connection between them is already apparent.

Emma almost certainly does not fall anywhere near in love with Hook during this encounter. She feels herself want to trust him, and hey, maybe she feels a bit of attraction towards him, but that’s about the extent of it. Hook, on the other hand, could easily have begun to maybe fall in love with Emma on the beanstalk. This is Fairy Tale Land after all, and he is a Fairy Tale character, unlike Emma. Emma who doesn’t necessarily believe in true love and love at first sight. But Hook lives in a world where all that is possible, so maybe the beanstalk is where he first started to have feelings for Emma. He did, after all, tell her that he believed he could find love again when he ā€œmet (3×06)ā€ her.

And then they continue to meet and interact for the span of series two. And then 2×22 happens. Emma reinforces their connection ā€œyou and I, we understand each other (2×22)ā€ and offers Hook the chance of redemption. That doesn’t mean that he hasn’t done some horrible things and it doesn’t mean that the horrible things he’s done should be condoned or accepted- it simply means she offers him a second chance. And he takes it. Emma Swan makes him want to change, makes him leave behind his quest for revenge. And people doubt that. Regina wants to be a better person for Henry. Rumple wants to be a better person for Belle, and later, Neal. Everyone accepts that with no question. Yet people can’t accept the fact that maybe Hook wants to be a better person for Emma?

And then they go to Neverland where they spend five days with each other, basically twenty-four hours a day. This coming after Emma reaches out to Hook and he Hook accepts her second chance and offers to help them. So they spend that time together in Neverland, a place where ā€œtime moves differently (2×21)ā€ according to Wendy, so five days could feel like more to them, we don’t know. They work together, he helps her and encourages her, they kiss (initiated by Emma btw). And in 3×06 it’s pretty much confirmed that Hook is in love with Emma, but Emma isn’t there yet. Emma isn’t anywhere near there. To her it was ā€œjust a kiss (3×06)ā€, and this is understandable and believable for Emma to feel this way. It’s also understandable and believable for Hook to be in love with her at this stage, this woman who has offered him light amongst the darkness, hope amongst the vengeance.

Furthermore, by the end of 3a, Emma still hasn’t stated her feelings towards Hook. Hook believes she’s his true love, but we can be pretty certain that Emma doesn’t feel that strongly about him (yet). So there’s been all that development, and yet some people choose to overlook it, despite it being one of the more drawn out and developed (possible) true loves on the show.
