[adrotate group="5"]^^^ All the points they brought up against Hook being redeemed had been addressed in the show. I rather them just say he’ll never be redeemed for me and I have no basis for that opinion.
This! I too wish they’d just man up & say “he wont ever be redeemed in m eyes”, rather than trying to justify all the bollocks they bring up, which either 1) has been addressed or 2) isnt fact/true. I’m not ashamed to admit that while I’m saddened by Neal’s death, I still dont see him allowing Emma to go to prison, then abandoning her Twice (at least) more as being redeemed- however Emma seems to be ‘over it’ so I have to build a bridge, deal & move on. Same is true of some of Rumple’s actions- some of Belle’s less than true/informed remarks & many of Regina’s actions.

First I have to say Colin Looks so happy and handsome. he must be so happy to be out of his regular outfit. He probably likes not having to wear the deepV neck or the leather pants. It is probably way more comfortable.
Ok, I’m coming to our refuge to vent a little…. HOW DID I MANAGE TO GET SUCKED INTO THE HOOK ARGUMENT(S) AGAIN?!?!?! WHEN WILL I LEARN?! And why does it bug me so much. Wait, I remember why. Because I still do not get how Hook cannot have some good in him if characters like Regina and Rumple can. Because every character has some good and some bad in them – one of the main themes of the show. I don’t get it. I ask fans who I would consider some of the more knowledgeable of other characters their thoughts and opinions because I don’t want to back myself into a corner and I want to look at the show from multiple points of view. I’m trying not to watch with ‘shipper goggles’. I grasp that people are upset about last week – I am too, I am not happy Neal’s dead and I’m not happy about how they did it. And I loved his scenes with Emma and Hook and Rumple and want MORE. But seriously, at some point it’s like, I’m gonna freaking blow. Let’s try something new instead of the ol’ using Hook as the punching bag argument. It’s old, it’s stale. The cell. Hook left her because he was angry – and impressed – and didn’t for a second think she wouldn’t get out. The swordfight. If he wanted her dead, she’d be dead. “But what’s the fun in killing the girl I just met that I’m frankly quite attracted to? Oh, crap, she just smacked me upside the head with the object I forgot I’m supposed to be taking from her. And, wait, love, before we start our swordfight, here’s yer heart Sleeping Beauty. Wasn’t gonna let you go off without that, either.” The bean. “The bean I looked at before I even got out of the harbor and realized my revenge that I’ve hung onto was futile and not worth it? That bean? Let me turn around, bring it back, and lend myself and my ship to go back to the place I was trapped in for 300 years with super-creepy-evil Pan and his equally-creepy-Boys?” Seriously, people! Rumple dropped his kid down a portal to god knows where!! Regina cursed an entire kingdom because she was sad and blamed her STEPDAUGHTER. Granny slept in the EF with a crossbow because her granddaughter was a wolf and killed her boyfriend. By ripping him apart. Whale tried to ressurrect his brother – that’s just gross. And didn’t Jefferson kidnap Emma or try to kill Emma or something to that effect? I got lost in that twirly magic-hat storyline. Okie, dokie. Time to breathe. I’m better now. Sorry about the rant, but I warned you!! In other news, Killy in a new outfit! HOW HOT IS OUR PIRATE?! Sigh. Swoon. Sigh. Hahaha, @Obisgirl, now I need to check out mine…
totally agree 1000% . You know Rumple was my second favourite character. It was Hook, rumple and teen Bae. I still like rumple, but the double standard on various forums compels to make posts calling out rumple for the evil he has done. It blows me away how anyone can think that Hook is any where near the level of either Rumple or Regina. I have seen people argue that Hook is worse because he challenged a pre dark Rumple to a duel and humiliated the cowardly Rumple. I agree it’s not Hook’s finest hour but there is no way that is worse then maiming someone or killing someone. Rumple doesn’t get too much sympathy from me for crippling himself, anymore than an orphan who killed his own parents, especially when he crippled himself so that braver better men could die to defend his home, his family. the whole he left her on a cell to die argument ignores that Emma tied Hook to a tree, whistled to attract the ogres and planned on leaving him after he told them the truth. They only released him after he convinced them he could be valuable to them. There was no mercy, no goodness on team princess side. Despite that he still works with them, only to betrayed by Emma up with giant. Emma knew that hook was being sincere and she willfully ignored that Cora was as much of a threat as the giant to Hook and really Cora only spared Hook’s life to make him suffer. At that point he owed team princess nothing. They used him and showed no to very little regard for his safety so it would extremely hypocritical and ridiculous of them to expect better treatment from him. what is interesting was that Snow and Emma were willing to kill Mulan and let Aurora die to keep the compass and go to Storybrook. i also think that hook’s quest to slay the beast that murdered his love is actually far more understandable and justifiable than anything motivating Rumple or Regina. let’s be honest many hero’s stories are about bringing cold blooded murderers/beasts to justice. except for Belle (who is an ally and willfully blind, hypocritical defender of Rumple) hook has limited the collateral damage in the pursuit of his goals unlike either Rumple or Regina. I want to write one more thing– belle fans often like to argue that belle saved Hook’s life and therefore Hook was even worse for shooting her. that argument does not move me. Belle pleaded with a Rumple to spare Hook’s life because she wanted to prove that rumple was a better man than hook, that rumple was not a bad person. She didn’t care about hook. She was disgusted by him. Hook also preferred to die, so she gets no points from me for that.

I think at this stage EVERY character- good or bad, as hurt or had someone to be killed (in various ways/shapes/forms). No one is innocent.
As far as Hook goes, he has done more good than bad, so as far as I’m concerned, the writing has Clearly been showing from day one, that he is an Anti-Hero, who is now a Hero, or at least at close as a pirate can get (Dread Pirate Roberts anyone 😉 )

Hey Jenna B… I was in there with you. I know what you mean… I was getting so frustrated. you and KJ did a great job of staying calm. I just couldn’t do it tonight… that one girl was so annoying I had steam coming out of my ears. I loved how each time we successfully defended him she would move onto something else increasingly more ridiculous and unfounded until then it became well I’m a single mom and don’t need anyone so Emma should just be alone and happy just being Henrys mom. And that she shouldn’t need a man. Well I’m a married mom and I love my sons but doesn’t mean I don’t want my man. my husband lives at our house during our DIY total renovation of a fixer upper while the kids and I live elsewhere. 3 years now. so I know how it is to be a single mom too as my husband is either working or renovating. Can I do it all alone and work my job… hell yeah. doesn’t mean I want to… why should emma settle for less when she can have both

Ok, so someone mentioned that they can be doing a Swan Princess storyline? and that Emma’s FTL costume fits a prisoner’s clothing. Thoughts?
I WANT IT. ….. . NOW!!!!!! Swan Princess would be cool, but JMo, A&E have all repeatedly said Emma is a ‘new’ fairy tale character of A&E’s own creation, so I dont know how that would work- unless they’ve changed their minds :/
