Ok, I’m coming to our refuge to vent a little…. HOW DID I MANAGE TO GET SUCKED INTO THE HOOK ARGUMENT(S) AGAIN?!?!?! WHEN WILL I LEARN?! And why does it bug me so much. Wait, I remember why. Because I still do not get how Hook cannot have some good in him if characters like Regina and Rumple can. Because every character has some good and some bad in them – one of the main themes of the show. I don’t get it. I ask fans who I would consider some of the more knowledgeable of other characters their thoughts and opinions because I don’t want to back myself into a corner and I want to look at the show from multiple points of view. I’m trying not to watch with ‘shipper goggles’. I grasp that people are upset about last week – I am too, I am not happy Neal’s dead and I’m not happy about how they did it. And I loved his scenes with Emma and Hook and Rumple and want MORE. But seriously, at some point it’s like, I’m gonna freaking blow. Let’s try something new instead of the ol’ using Hook as the punching bag argument. It’s old, it’s stale. The cell. Hook left her because he was angry – and impressed – and didn’t for a second think she wouldn’t get out. The swordfight. If he wanted her dead, she’d be dead. “But what’s the fun in killing the girl I just met that I’m frankly quite attracted to? Oh, crap, she just smacked me upside the head with the object I forgot I’m supposed to be taking from her. And, wait, love, before we start our swordfight, here’s yer heart Sleeping Beauty. Wasn’t gonna let you go off without that, either.” The bean. “The bean I looked at before I even got out of the harbor and realized my revenge that I’ve hung onto was futile and not worth it? That bean? Let me turn around, bring it back, and lend myself and my ship to go back to the place I was trapped in for 300 years with super-creepy-evil Pan and his equally-creepy-Boys?” Seriously, people! Rumple dropped his kid down a portal to god knows where!! Regina cursed an entire kingdom because she was sad and blamed her STEPDAUGHTER. Granny slept in the EF with a crossbow because her granddaughter was a wolf and killed her boyfriend. By ripping him apart. Whale tried to ressurrect his brother – that’s just gross. And didn’t Jefferson kidnap Emma or try to kill Emma or something to that effect? I got lost in that twirly magic-hat storyline. Okie, dokie. Time to breathe. I’m better now. Sorry about the rant, but I warned you!! In other news, Killy in a new outfit! HOW HOT IS OUR PIRATE?! Sigh. Swoon. Sigh. Hahaha, @Obisgirl, now I need to check out mine…
You know what ticks me off about the whole “he left her in a cell to die thing” ….. Didnt Charming tell Snow to give him back his jewels (while he had her hanging in that net), OR he’d turn her over to the Evil Queen KNOWING said EQ wanted Snow DEAD. So Charming was out right WILLING to have Snow killed for some jewels ….. how is that any different than Hook allowing Emma to suffer (because he didnt look willing in that scene, he looked ticked & a touch regretful), in a cell for betraying him & forcing him to work with a literally heartless, evil women again, to get where he needed to go…. blows my mind.
I pretty much decided to stay away from any remotely Neal/SF related threads for the next 2eps. I do understand what you are saying, I accidentally walked into an anti Hook conversation on here- got ticked off & left (was annoyed I couldnt post at the time, but glad for it now lol). The same old few insisting on Hook being “evil” or #1 villain is growing old- how many times does A&E have to say Regina & Hook have “changed” before the message sinks in. At this point even IF CS did happen, they got married, had kids, a little house, with a white picket fence & Killian saved whales & dolphins, while giving free sailing trips & star mapping lessons to orphans everyday, some would still insist he is evil – It’s extremely sad really.

So I have been wondering and I brought it up in the chat. Do you think it’s possible that Walsh was sent by Zelena cause she found out that hook was on his way to Emma?
It is a strong possibility, but unless Neal brought up sending the letter to Hook in front of Lumiere, WW wouldnt know …. unless Neal/Rumple said something about it while he was under her control, which is a strong possibility.

The Black Fairy’s wand
The fact that Blue had this on her person (considering that she should have had NO magical items after the curse, let alone one that was hidden in her convent) was espeicially suspicious. One could make the argument that she got the supplies to make the memory potion in S2 from Golds shop, which would make sense, but how could have had the wand hidden if she had no memories or knowledge of magic? I had. big problem with this >_>
I recently saw a tumbler meta that tied Walsh to fairies & Oz, as well as the blue fairy to Oz…. (blue, green & black fairies were mentioned off memory)- will see if I can locate it & post here.
My friend who is a professional movie critic and also watches OuaT offers this explanation for why Neal’s death actually does make sense dramatically: “For one thing, it evens the scales. Rumple sacrificed himself. Neal got to do the same. It also brings their relationship full circle to a final reconciliation. That gives the drama extra weight.” I’d also add that his death makes their battle with Zelena more personal. Of course, I’m still greatly saddened as I really wanted a happy ending for him and Emma or at least a great friendship/co-parenting. I think they could have told more stories with him. But I’m not angry with the writers. All the anger I’m seeing is disheartening and makes me more distraught than the episode itself! I don’t like seeing my friends angry.
This too! Very much. You get a seal from me as well. (But I won’t clog up this thread with more furry animal pictures). Speaking purely from a meta-storytelling point of view, Rumple couldn’t return without something drastic happening. There had to be a consequence. I guess in storytelling as well as in magic, there’s always a prize. And they had to bring Rumple back. Which is one thing I am happy about.
Even though I am sad to see Bae go, I am satisfied with the sendoff he got, due to the “full circle reconciliation” thing you mentioned. There was a lot of closure for both characters in that last episode. I’m with you on the angry people issue too. It’s what made me decide to start posting here. I just couldn’t bear watching it anymore. Really, if I see any more anger flying around these forums, I’m going to be tempted to start a free-hug-thread. *looks around threateningly* – Don’t think I wont!This! *hands over a cookie for an excellent post*
I really wish we had gotten more CaptainFire … glad to have had the hospital scene – but I am greedy and would have loved a little more of over a few episodes.
Agreed- I think we all wanted more CaptainFire moments, needed them even.
