No I don’t watch the show looking for every knick and cranny that may be for my couple I just watch the show and I have taken loads of classes and know what to look to when it comes to camera angles, editing, etc.

The whole Neal/Emma preamble to Hook’s return connecting basically that Emma needs Hook and it was the least subtle thing in the world. On top of that they did it earlier on in the episode when Regina said that if Bae can’t do it then there is nothing that can save Rumple’s humanity than we cut to a scene of Belle. That’s intentional editing and it’s done on purpose.

It’s not because I may be a CS shipper, no one should be judged on that preference. I’m more than just a CS shipper.

The numbers Daniel put on the screencap indicate how many groups of tally marks are on each section of the wall. One group of tally marks = 5 strokes = 5 days. So add up all the numbers, then multiply by 5 to get the total number of strokes on the walls.
48 + 25 + 27 + 32 + 38 + 33 + 34 + 16 + 3 + 5 = 261 groups of tally marks.
261 x 5 = 1305 tally strokes (days).
1305 / 365 (days in a year) = 3.58 years.

I can see where you are coming from (& as I’ve said I dont hate Neal) just in my mind, when I’ve taken the whole situation into context- not just what we knew ‘back then’.
Emma in prison for 11mths didn’t cause her destiny to come true- that was already in play as she was preggers, all it needed was for she & Neal to brake up (Or for Neal to get over his daddy issues & help her with it), as she already felt she wasn’t ‘good’ enough to be a mother or had the means to support a child on her own.
Neal could have gone to prison & even if he hadn’t told Emma he was going to, she’d still be free to ‘live up to her destiny’.
I actually think Neal 1) didn’t want to go to prison (he said they’d have to break up so he could run to Canada) & the lines relating to that are ‘it’s to late now to change that’
2) his not reaching out was because she only got 11mths & 3) he refused to have anything to do with magic & Rumple, so 4) wouldn’t help Emma break the curse anyway, it’s not something he wanted to be involved in. As he said out right to Emma, ‘if he had known who she is, he’d have run a mile from her’- he chose his anger & fear of his father over Emma & Emma paid his/the price.

Bottom line for me is Emma didn’t HAVE to break the curse alone, Neal could have helped her do it, he didn’t, he had her thrown in prison for his crime instead & that’s what I get hung up on- but like I say, that is just through my eyes & nothing he’s done to date has let me forgive him for those actions.

I agree with you re-August, but then I didn’t like him at all once all that came out anyway lol. I think when August found out who exactly Neal was (I’d like to know how that came about!) he knew Neal wouldn’t ‘go’ for curse breaking, so in a way what happened was the ‘only’ way it could happen ie. one had to go to prison or leave…see I’ve come back to that again, he let Emma take the fall 😉

Far out, after reading every ones take on timelines, my brain is about to melt down lol. I actually think much of the confusion we all have is, some think things have happened over years rather than mths as others do.

I just added Belle’s tally marks up & it comes to 251, so by my working out on those numbers, that’s approx 8&1/2-9mths- where did 2-3yrs come from???

Way I saw it was the Ogres at belles kingdom had to be an isolated incident in a far off kingdom (because no one else mentions them aside from when Rumple went to war before he became the dark one, which we know was years befoe recent events ), so….
Rumple takes Charming to George & learns of the fairy (all That stuff happens)
Rumple gets Belle- a few weeks after or before this-
Rumple kabooms fairy for her wand.
Then Robin hood happens.
Then Rumbelle starts, he sends Belle into town on her own, she meets Regina, goes back & tries TLK on Rumple:
Belle is tossed out: (we split into 2 here)
Belle goes on adventures- During this time Charming & Snow have been recently wed (I think)- Rumple catches up with Cinder’s & names his price at her wedding.
Belle gets nabbed by Regina. (Back to the one line).
Regina gloats to Rumple about Belle dying
Rumple gets caught by enchanted quill etc

I REALLY hope we get an answer to timeline from Adam.
BUT I will do a refresher watching of S1 over the next week (it’s not like anything else is on over here 😉 ) & see whats what- I’ll be honest I haven’t obsessed over Rumbelles timeline before now lol 😉

It could, sure. The only problem is that that is not typically how true love’s fairy tales work. Once the two meet, everything normally happens within a day or two. And because we never got the traditional Cinderella fairy tale story (just the very beginning with the fairy) then yes, we don’t know the space between the ball and the wedding.

So if we take that into consideration then here’s how the timeline would have to look

1) Rumple kills Fairy Godmother and takes wand (maybe 3 or 4 years before Curse)
2) Rumple brings Belle to his castle (3 or 4 yrs BC)
3) Robin Hood shows up to take Wand and the events of Lacey (3 yrs BC)
4) Events of Skin Deep and the Outsider (2 years before curse??!?!?!?!?!) (I hate these markings on Belle’s cell with each passing moment of typing this comment)
5) Regina tells Rumple that Belle is dead (2 years before curse?)
6) Thomas and Cinderella marry (one year before Curse)
7) Cinderella is pregnant (7 ish months before curse)
8) Rumple is captured (7 ish months before curse)
9) CURSE

Didn’t! 😆 I have to go see clients now darn it 🙁 I’ll come back to this when I get back tonight, I need clarification on what these dates are based on- just Belles tally marks, because if they represent days there’d 364 for every yr she’d spent there- which would look like HEAPS on a wall & I didn’t see a cap with that many in it 😕
