I think one thing that we all need to do is start focusing on the positive about the episodes. For everything you didn’t like about it, find something that you did like. Have an even amount of points on either side. Because, at the end of the day, we can be able to appreciate that this show for what it is – not what it could be and not what we each think it should be. It’s a fairytale drama. The premise itself is buried in ridiculousness, and I think we all expect a bit much of the show sometimes. If we could just take the show from a more positive angle, I think there would be far less animosity. This isn’t Game of Thrones or Breaking Bad. It’s Once, and it’s something we all love. Let’s try to continue to love it.

And, also, Sven. I love Sven.

No negative talk or criticism, just positive reasons why we love this show. It can be something to something really small.

It would be neat if we had a thread solely devoted to what we love about the show.

The reverse of @obisgirl’s idea could work as well- contain the negativity/criticism to one thread… the venting thread if you will 😛
Thank you RG for this thread (but dont even joke about closing the ship threads lol – I dont think the general forums could take my fangirling & I might require hospitalization if I had to hold it in for any length of time 😛 ). On a more serious note, I hope this discussion leads to developing some much needed cohesion within our little slice of the fandom again …. I miss the good old days 😉

I think for me it comes down to the fact there used to be criticism yes, but there used to also be much more enjoyment & celebration of the show itself & of each individual character- that really is what ultimately brought us all together as fans after all- our love for the show, not our criticism.
I’d like more celebration & positivity, focusing more on what we love about the show, rather than focusing on criticizing it to death or what isnt liked about it.

Maybe a name your favorite thing about each character thread…. or even whats the best characteristic of each character thread kind of thing? … At least then we are looking for the best in characters rather than the worst- Or any games that focus on the characters & shows good points would be good. It’d be cool to have a forum wide scavenger hunt type game- where a bunch of questions get asked on a fixed day & you to go different threads to get the answers to said questions… it just might be a little too involved to work well here is all IDK.

Oh, thank goodness, it let me back on….. UGH!!!!!! To the bad gateway thingy!!!!!!!

I finally saw the episode. It was good. I wish there was more on the date. I would have liked to have known what they talked about on the date. I wanted to see all that awkwardness if there was any. Did Emma ask about Milah, or anything about his past, did she ask about Liam? I can see Emma wanting to know more about him than wanting to talk about herself.

But good episode.

Rumple is such a — jerk is being too polite. Hook blackmailed Rumple but what he’s doing now to Hook is far worse. Rumple is basically playing mind games with Hook and seriously, that is messed up. There really isn’t anything about Rumple’s character at this point that I feel sorry for. I mean, how many times is going to swap the knife before he gets caught? If he loses Belle, then so be it. Seriously. Belle deserves much better than Rumple, who seems to love power more than her. That is not the kind of man she deserves.

I like how Emma put Hook first on the date. She could have run off after Will but she turned around and stayed and explained to him that it’s not important, that Hook is more important than some thief that basically has no escape out of town. Emma made sure he understood that and at the sheriff’s station that she truly enjoyed the date and had a good time regardless of that little run in. And I loved hearing the Captain Swan theme, especially a different variation of it. It’s still very beautiful.

I wish we’d had a little more date time as well, but what we got- I think- showed how easy the two of them click & spend time together…. as an aside, does Emma call Killian to just talk, does Killian call Emma to just talk these days since the ph thing happened- they had to have ‘tested’ it (goes onto the the list of stuff I’d love to know, but will probably never find out about lol 😛 ).

I too loved how Emma put Killian 1st on their date, it was a lovely role reversal for them 🙂

As for Rumple, umm yeah- I’m trying really hard at this point not to completely loath him for being as dark as he is right now, there really wasnt/isnt a need for it (If he’d left well enough alone, I doubt Killain would have gone back to him again after getting his hand back… unless it was life or death for Emma) & the thing that makes it worse for me, is he is flat out lying to Belle on every level possible atm, just so he can have his power, with no limits & her…. it is just not cool *sigh*

I’m trying to post while I can I have been having a lot of trouble with this site as well.. I usually check in to see what pretties have been posted and what is new.. It’s that people are being driven away or feel like they can’t come because of the negativity.

Thank you for all wonderful pics I do love seeing and the metas were great. Gave me a little peace that we weren’t gonna have a repeat of the 3 b.. I don’t know if I can deal with Emma being so harsh with Hook again but I can work with her supporting him. I have renewed faith!

I am trying to post more it just seems like when I have time to get on here everything I thought of saying has already been said also I post from my phone so it’s hard to say everything I want… Any hoo thanks again for all the wonderful pics

Awww, dont feel bad, your thoughts & opinions are always welcome & wanted ( I counted you in 😉 )- the more the merrier 🙂 I sometimes find it difficult to post too- esp in summer, after 13hrs of hard slog doing a bunch of horses/physical stuff, as I’m usually knackered, have a couple of cats vying for my undivided attention (so they get in the way of the keyboard, walk over the keyboard, keep tapping random keys or chase the mouse around the screen- I use a laptop lol) & so require a prompt to get my brain functioning in order to do more than “agree” lol
I’m glad everyone seems to be enjoying the pretties- It’s a nice way to unwind & keep this wonderful thread active at the same time 🙂

Serious Talk

Remember all those times Killian reassured Emma again and again that she was powerful? That she was important and she meant something to so many people, including him? Well now look at this. Emma is reassuring him that he, too, need not worry so much. That he matters. That she cares about him and isn’t going anywhere.

First he is worried that his run in with Will may have scared her and ruined the evening. She emotionally and physically reassures him that it’s okay.

Then he gets the courage to ask Emma on a second date, but you see it all over his face that he’s worried about her answer. He puts himself in a vulnerable position here because he knows how he just behaved, maybe she will say no. But she assures him once again that she would love nothing more than to go out with him again, by moving in for a very passionate kiss.

And finally we are brought to the sheriff station, where Emma is clearly upset that Will interrupted her date, but turns to Killian and reminds him how wonderful of a time she had, despite the interruption.

Bottom line, Emma is in this. And she will reassure Killian that he is worthy of her and that she enjoys his company as much as she needs too. We saw it with Killian all last season and now we are seeing it with Emma and it’s really just such beautiful development. I cry.

What I meant by that comment RG & you’ll notice I said I’d “wager” not that it was actually the case out right :/ – was NOT that GA are sponges at all, thats taking a very negativity view of a broad observation that was made within the context of the previous statement it was attached too… would it be considered more appropriate if I’d put a negative spin on it & said “I dont think they have many if any problems with hating Rumple, Regina or Hook” 🙁 – My point was, they arent “invested” in the fandom itself, so whether they ‘love or hate’ ANY of the characters means little to the rift in general :/ The rift is purely fandom based, if you took a poll of GA, sure there would be some whom hate Hook (or whoever), some who love Hook (or whoever), but “most” (again not ALL) would “LIKELY” fall in the middle because they are watching for entertainment purposes- sometime they like, sometimes they dislike, or they are neutral.
As for viewership- from what I’ve seen & heard, thats been up on S2 & S3 for the most part & it’s been the most watched scripted show on sundays, so the viewership seems to be doing fine these days lol.
I can see this thread going the way of most the threads here these days go, so I’ll leave you lot to it, Enjoy.

Yeah & thats just off the top of my head of those whom used to be very active posters sadly 🙁 I miss the good old days when there was dozens of us in here daily discussing every little detail of the interactions between Emma & Killy, there were so many different interpretations & POV, it made for some wonderful discussions- there used to be days where we’ed shoot up 8-10pages such was the level of discussion, now however, we are about that a week & it’s mostly pretty graphics & vids rather than hard discussion lol- which is understandable given there’s what, only about 5-6 people regularly posting, with maybe 2 or 3 irregular or occasional posters popping in during the week *sigh*

Yes to the “bad gateway”, it’s driving me mental! I have to log out & back in again to get rid of it :/ I’ve taken to ‘Ctrl C’ ing my posts before hitting submit in case I get bad gateway :/

Honestly, the same question can apply to Neal. Opposing sides of the same coin, if you will. It really goes back to the whole CSF fandom war. With Emma being seen as the main character with a more ambiguous relationship endgame, she is going to have the most shipping related debates. And yes, there are people who have had personal reasons for disliking Neal that have nothing to do with Hook, just as there are people who have reasons for disliking Hook that have nothing to do with Neal.

I would say it’s really CSF throughout all of Season 3 that really fueled the flames, not just post 315. You had the CS flirting in 301 and 302, the CS kiss in 305, the Hook and Neal fighting in 307, and then there was some more tension between Hook and Neal in 310. In Season 2 CS was more so hinted and teased about, particularly in “Tallahassee”, but Hook was more so focused on his revenge against Rumple. Once Hook abandoned his seek for revenge at the end of Season 2, seeing potential in Emma as another light in his life became his new main priority in Season 3. Neal’s death in 315 just put the fandom feud to a boiling point, which the spoiler of doom looming for most of the hiatus only helped build up.
