Looking at last night’s promo with Emma’s little yellow bug sliding across the road, I am still not certain that Emma can leave SB now even if she wants to:) She is a vital part of the story now — meaning the curse itself may not let her. Maybe we will get a clear view of the sign that says either leaving or entering SB when she and August visit the Lobster House this next Sunday. Then again, maybe Jefferson pops out of the hat while she is driving.
Im thinking the same thing- but I do think since she has gone to leave twice already & twice hasnt been able to, that maybe as soon as she entered SB, she became just as trapped as everyone else ie- wolf (that doesnt exist- yet does A LOT of howling when folks are in the woods) in the middle of the rd, then MM convincing her to stay when she had made up her mind to leave. Now it looks like she’ll go off the rd while trying to skip town ….it’s odd that all 3 times she hasnt actually left town with the intent of not returning- maybe she’s like Henry, she can leave IF she is intending on returning but not other wise.

Seriously though I dont know if it’d work in SB but couldnt she wake him if she truly loved him ie -expressing true love itself for her child (rather than partner)? I dont know how exactly that would work since magic isnt meant to work here in all 😕 OR- just a wild thought- maybe she gets serious about leaving again & Henry passes out, she freaks out & Regina does something (probably involving something from under her creepy bat lair place), which Emma see’s & Henry wakes up after being told by Whale that he wont or something??? its a crazy idea but hey they made August pinno so, well, anything is possible 😉 :p
Well it could be her true love for him that brings him back or out of a coma- which I like more personally rather than death, which is just so final lol 😉
I think it’ll take more than just that though- she needs support at the same time (the kind she was meant to have but didnt get thanks to Gep & pinno/August) to believe, as in she needs a couple of friends to back her up & tell her it’s not insane to believe in the curse/FTL/magic – ones she trusts & ones she knows have no reason to lie about it. – Archie would be good (MM &/or PC would be great, but its unlikely from the hints the cast has given unless we are moving into breaking the curse in S2),. Mr Gold believing would knock her socks right off me thinks lol :p@charming wrote:

Even though his main goal is to find Bae, he knows he cannot do it all alone. Yes he is the dark one but that power in rendered moot in SB. He enjoys achieving his goal through others’ efforts and when things goes sideways he also needs scapegoats. (Regina did both for him)
That is true – but I still dont think he really gave much consideration to them coming other than they had to come, he has power of Regina with the please thing & everyone else other than Emma is a total bonus 😉

There have been some reasons for Emma to believe, although none that can’t be rationalized away. Firstly, when Emma decided to stay, the clock started moving again. Secondly, when she put on the sheriff badge, the earth shook from the violence of the mine collapse. Thirdly, she saw how oddly Graham was behaving right before he died. None of those events on its own is enough reason to believe, but when not just one person, but four people tell her about fairy-tales, she must have some reason to question what is going on. We’ve seen Henry, Graham, Jefferson, and now August all telling her what she refuses to believe. After Jefferson disappeared through a hat, she has to be wondering how he survived falling from the second or third story window unscathed. After that event, we saw her request to hold onto Henry’s book for a while when she saw the resemblance between Paige in SB and her pictures as Grace in Henry’s book. I think that Emma will start to put together the pieces after something more personal starts to happen. Perhaps MM and David will remember first and then try and convince her she is their child. Either Emma thinks everyone is crazy from drinking something in the water, or she lets her denial go and starts to accept it.
He didnt come clean – he didnt tell Emma what he did – we saw a flash back yes, but he never said Im sorry I left you, we are all in this position because I didnt follow through with the promise I made & now you are paying for it – what can I do? How can I make you believe? All he’s done is get frustrated she’s not believing his story & a book full of pictures for crying out loud- how is that her fault.
I dont see him making amends – he’s in SB because he doesnt want to die or he’d still be on some Island living the good life by his own words – he was PISSED off when he said that to Emma – like it was her fault that she went to SB & started his regression in action – still grade A jerk to me.
Dont get me started on Gep – he’s worse than Pinno – but saying a 7yr old who knows he cant do bad things without risking becoming wood again, doesnt know not to break his promise is weak- he could have refused to go- he didnt, he chose to go & protect Emma, but he didnt knowing what was going to happen to everyone else by choosing to break that promise….again selfish & he hasnt apologized for it either.Emma only had Henry’s comment about the clock not moving- was she supposed to believe the clock not ticking = time standing still, if thats the case our small town has been stuck in time for the last 16yrs as its been stuck on 9:45 for that long lol
Earth quakes happen- there wasnt one the next day when she put it on, so nope on that one (remember we see others points of view she doesnt)
Yep he was behaving oddly right before he died & people have been known to see things/experience things as the energy & chemicals in their bodies go haywire right before they kick the bucket – also he didnt go to Emma about it, he went to MM & then Henry – Emma probably doesnt know squat about that other than he was going through a mid-life crisis (he never told her he believed he was a fairy tale character, only that he didnt have a heart). All together not much if anything = curse to me.
1 Henry telling her = nothing as Archie told her it was Henry’s way of making sense of & expressing complex emotions. 2 Graham never said anything to her about believing in fairy tale land- that was MM & Henry he spoke to. 3. Jefferson was acting like a loony tune – like you’d believe a nut job holding you at gun point raving on about making a magic hat 😆 . 4 August, well thats simple he’s given her zero evidence to believe in any of it (& made her think he’s insane by showing her a normal leg bahaha 😉 😥 ), if anything he’s made things worse as Emma doesnt want to be god for FTL, she has next to zero evidence to say that what August is saying & a book her kid has is real – just that they want her to believe it’s real & that she has EVERYONES welfare resting on her shoulders to boot – different if it was like, well what have you got to lose in believing in it – but this is like believe & then go to war & maybe get killed or get loved ones killed & ITS ALL ON YOU KID! Real smooth move there August – not!.Jefferson could have landed in a bush lol – Id be like who cares as long as he doesnt have a gun or want me to make a magic hat lol :p You can also jump from 2nd (or 2 & 1/2 anyways) story & be totally fine, as one of my little brothers did & was- he tried to be like superman & fly… out our house’s 2 & 1/2 story high window, with nothing but a plastic shopping bag on his shoulders (he put his arms through the holes/handles & jumped) … he was fine, got up, shook himself off (with my mother FREAKING out lol) & wanted to try again lol …not one of his more brilliant ideas – but there you go lol 🙂
I do agree that others around her have to start to believe so she doesnt feel she’s alone in it tho – maybe if Gold told her the curse was real lol :p or Regina let slip something she’d be ohhhhh Kayyyyy so this is a little to weird not to be true lol 😉
But sorry we just dont see August in the same light – Im a very just & logical person due to circumstance (wasnt your typical kid growing up as had to help raise all 3 of my younger siblings from the tender age of 6yrs old on- so have a very different view of right & wrong I guess from taking that responsibility on at a young age & is probably why I wont cut August any slack there- it’s not impossible & he was down right selfish then hasnt owned up or admitted to it- not out right anyway & that I cant stand 👿 )Also things Henry has said cant happen have happened – stranger has come into SB from the outside, time is not standing still that Emma can see, its a small town with the usual comings & goings & a side from having a total cow for a mayor who has it in for her best friend its a pretty normal town other wise lol
I think BF is working for the good of FTL – NOT anyone person as not anyone person is more important than an entire world. She doesnt lie from what we’ve seen – Gep had her by the (figurative) balls so to speak- he was needed to make the wardrobe in-order to have a chance at saving FTL & for him to do that BF HAD to agree to let Pinno take a spot (GRRRRRRRRR SHAME on them both, they knew better grrrrrrr – but I digress – so back on topic now….), she made pointed remarks about choice while looking at gep & then told Gep up front the truth of the matter before having to go do what ever fairies do before curses hit lol :p
Totally with you nonnie- What Im ticked off with is why in the oats August is getting angry at Emma for not believing in the curse when its entirely his flippn fault that she doesnt!!!!- who was supposed to protect her & raise her to know her destiny — oh let me see August was, but no instead he stuffed off & left Emma, FTL, everyone in FTL & his father to rot — nice call there gep – NOT.
I mean the guy only came back to help Emma cause he’s going to die if he doesnt- hardly a change in heart there – I now Cant Stand him! he makes go GRRRRR 👿 He hasnt even come clean or offered an apology to what he’s done to not only Emma but everyone in SB! Personally if I was in Emma’s shoes when I did find out it’d be burning torches & lynch mob time – he’d burn real easy now too lol :p
Anyway Emma has next to zero reason to really believe in FTL & the curse aside from 1 coincidence in a story book to real life events. I also think that if she thinks August is adding stuff to the book (which he said he did) she’ll be way less inclined to believe it is based on real events now as he could just be playing with her- at least that’s my take anyway- I know if it was me FTL would be screwed cause I dont know what it would take for me to believe- but it’d have to be MAJOR – maybe she has to turn to considering the possibility if Henry is in a coma or something- but honestly I’d be looking for a medical cure if that was the case- not a story book or lying, selfish, jerk.

Either way if they can both do it without destroying FTL they’d do it.
Personally I dont think Rumps gives 2 flying figs about anyone other than himself (& Bae of course)- he uses people to get what he wants- if he can use you to move towards his goal he will, if you get in the way he will crush you. I think everyone came along for the ride because it was the only way for him to get to our world that he was able to come up with- after all he doesnt care if all their lives are ruined (he is the dark one lol) as long as he finds Bae 🙂
Im with both of you there – I have to just put it down to SW wanted a mother so desperately that she saw what she wanted to see & took on board all the ‘crap’ (for lack of a better term) Regina drummed into her head….Regina must have had to be very subtle to start off with- maybe she just got OTT & clumsy after SW got away (& that would have been awake up call for SW, as your mother trying to have you killed is going to open your’s eyes to her true intentions & feelings about you & would just cement everything Regina had told her about love etc as she was growing up 😉 )
It also occurred to me that she may mean she ruined Regina’s life by not being able to stop her bolting horse & therefore Regina ended up marring her father & being brought into her family (Cora is out of the picture from what we can see so either she is dead or Regina lost her mother due to living with SW & co – at least that is how Regina could have played it anyway) – also a loveless marriage by her own acct (I’m sure she’s smart enough to realize Regina ‘pretended’ to love her father & that her acts of kindness were just that, ‘acts’, due to her views on marriage & love when she meets PC).@charming wrote:

Yeah that’s my theory – cant remember where I posted it now (its worded much better lol), but I feel that FTL/Enchanted Forest (EF) as been transposed/superimposed (not sure that’s the right words, but its the best I can come up with this close to waking up lol) as SB in our world- so they are sort of one in the same. What Im no longer sure on, is if the curse did strip FTL/EF away to it’s non-magical counterpart in order to bring them here, did it just transpose FTL/EF onto our non magical world meaning FTL/EF folk can return to FTL/EF after the curse is broken or did it strip away FTL/EF altogether so it no longer exists in FTL/EF.
My sister thinks (& I think it also has merit) is that everything in FTL/EF was dragged along with everyone else into our world & that’s why those things are here – I mean Regina had 28yrs of everyone being zombie like to ‘clean’ up things she didn’t want found & also Gold has tones of ‘stuff’ so maybe the stuff was brought along by the curse to fulfill Regina’s bargain with Rumps & are his comfortable living 😉
