Seriously though, I still wander out in the rest of the forum, partly because I think it’s fascinating that people can watch the same show and come to wildly different conclusions, so I usually enjoy hearing others’ reasoning and debating our respective positions (as long as it’s done politely and without personal attacks).
I have noticed you trying to reason with people who don’t want to be reasoned with. You’re a braver person than I!
There’s a John Finnemore sketch about an English teacher trying to explain Shakespeare’s Macbeth to his students. And the students are coming up with all these wild theories that are just totally inaccurate, but being a English teacher he can’t dismiss them out of hand, so just sits back and says ‘that’s interesting’ when inside he’s desperately trying not to say ‘you’re wrong, you’re all totally wrong and I will tell you why you’re wrong!!’. It just reminds me of these types of forums.

It really is like that isnt it 😛 😉As I said elsewhere, with the whole cursed hand thing. I really don’t mind if it ends up being more psychological, than an actual curse. Once a seed is planted in your head, it’s hard to get rid of it (doesn’t mean you can’t over come it). Don’t think about white bears. Now you’re all thinking about white bears. Even though the hand may not be bad on its own, Hook has tried really hard to over come his darkness, to be worthy of Emma’s love. The hand could be a phyical reminder of who he was/is and who he’s trying to be. And Rumple’s always messing with people’s heads.

Yeah, if it’s a psychological thing as opposed to the hand somehow having its own independent thought processes, it’ll be much easier to buy. And I mean we know from the pictures that he’s getting the hook back this season eventually, after, I hope some adorable stuff with Emma helping him realize that he can be a good person and deserving of her love with or without his left hand. Although I still think it’s super creepy that Rumple was keeping it in a freaking jar. *shudder*
I really hope we get the adorable parts… I have a feeling 4B is going to be heavily focused on Regina, so I doubt we’ll much then.
The sad but true reality of this site unfortunately- If I hadn’t been optimistic (apparently stupidly so) that things would improve & wasnt so stubborn about refusing to be run off of the site, I’d have left with the others long ago.

I agree with you on both points too- I’m not sure what to think… but I have got a darn good giggle out of the whole concept if nothing else at this point, I mean is there really anything else we can do other than go “ohhhhhhhhhh Kaaaaaaaaay” & LOAO
I get on the holy crabby patties batman- the CS thread is active again! …. I actually went ‘OMG, there must have been a sneak peek,’ when I woke up to 2 additional pages lolI know, right?! It’s just so dumb if that’s actually what happens!
In addition to the fact that he wasn’t evil when he had the hand, there’s also the issue that if the rest of him is “redeemed”, shouldn’t he just be able to hang on to the hand for a while and control it until it gets with the program and redeems itself as well? (Haha, that sounds so ridiculous!) I’m sorry, I just can’t handle (pun intended) that idea because (a) it’s ridiculous; (b) he had the hook for his worst actions; and (c) even if that were the case, there’s no reason why it should be permanent if the rest of his body successfully redeemed itself…that just sounds so ludicrous! I was actually looking forward to all of the drama from Rumple having cursed his hand, but for the hand itself to somehow be evil? No way to take that seriously!
No there isnt & oh gosh, I’m having a good laugh over the whole ‘old hand is evil‘ concept 😛 I mean it’s an absolutely ridiculous concept right off the bat for the reasons you’ve pointed out…. but I mean, seriously…. body parts have minds of their own… bahahahahahahahahaha

Is that really that surprising? We’ve been right on almost all major points. I don’t know how many listened to the commentary of Adam and Eddy from the season 3 finale, but Eddy pretty much confirmed what we figured from their first major episode together, Tallahassee. [x]
And how difficult it would be for Emma if Neal was her happy ending? I think our only three misses were who was getting married last season, what The Jolly Roger was about and whether true love’s kiss would happen. Everything else we’ve predicted have for the most part been, spot on.
‘Shipper goggles aside, I think it’s because we understand the psychology of Emma. We get her. It’s a blessing whenever JMo or Colin talk in interviews and pretty much reaffirm what we’re talking about.
Wow, I hadnt listen to the commentary yet…. I’m pleasantly surprised how darn close we cut to the core of Emma & her relationship with Killian right from the start (I really must watch it now). Yes, I think you are right re understand Emma’s psychology, I dont think we are to bad with Killian’s either, but Emma we seem to get a whole lot better than most the fandom, but as you;ve said in the past- we seem to ship for Emma, rather than despite her.

I bet he is too 😉 What with his reputation that Charming keeps bring up & the fact there was more than one very interested bar-wench in that tavern, who looked daggers at Emma when she stepped all over their game 😉Re: hate-watching…I have no problem with people doing that. I don’t get it, but it’s really no skin off my nose. What I can’t stand is when they try to force everyone else to hate it too or do things like attack actors and writers via Twitter or whatever. There’s just no excuse for that. I can actually kind of relate because I’m on a bit of an anti-Regina kick at the moment, so I have a fair amount of negative things to say about her on my Tumblr etc., but I tag it so no one has to see it if they don’t want to. But yeah, Regina’s been a dark spot on what’s otherwise been a pretty great season so far, so I get wanting to vent about individual things that bug you.
I just don’t let it ruin the rest of the show for me!
I totally get being annoyed at a character or not liking a specific arc. Aside from CS, the whole Neverland thing wasn’t exactly my favorite part of the show – there were parts I liked and parts that almost put to me sleep. I don’t even really care if people don’t like CS – ship whoever you want. What I am not happy about is the fact that it seems like people who enjoy the show have the become the minority on the boards, to the point that every thread except this one ultimately becomes a place to talk about how terrible the show is now, how awful the writing is, how none of the characters make sense anymore, how all of the actors are OBVIOUSLY unhappy with their job on the show (you can just TELL), how MRJ continues to be treated like crap, how A and E are in conspiracy with Disney and ABC to ensure young girls think rape is acceptable, etc. It’s like this has become the Anti-OUaT website. If people hate the show that much they SHOULD start an anti-OUaT website and then they can gripe about the show all they want there. But this should be a place where people who enjoy the show can come to discuss it. I have been here almost since the beginning of season 1 and I remember how much fun this site used to be. There were plenty of people who didn’t like certain characters or didn’t care for certain storylines but they weren’t NEGATIVE about the SHOW. People joked around together during the show and during the podcast – now people commiserate and complain together. The boards were full of theories and in depth discussions, now there are hardly ANY threads outside of the SF and CS thread, and those threads that do exist move at a snail’s pace or die quickly. There was lots of commentary on how well actors portrayed their characters and certain scenes, now people personalize the actors with the characters so much that the discussion is about which actor has gotten what hate mail from the fans today because of what their character did on the last episode. It’s just become a very different place from what it used to be.
I’m glad that we still have lots of great discussions here though!!
