Actually I have a question (might as well ask it here), did Elsa overhear what Hook and Rumple were saying re fake dagger? I know Hook raised his voice to get her attention, but it’s not like it’s a big shop. So would Elsa chat to Emma about what they did/Hook offered to get information from Rumple?
I’ve been wondering about that as well…. it could be a Killian hears Emma’s confession, but Neal doesnt hear Killian’s or Henry doesnt hear Pan & Co discussing him & Pan’s evil plans from around the corner of the cave he’s standing in, type of ‘selective’ deafness for story telling purposes, or she heard everything, but Killy had told her to leave him to it because Rumple/DO is dangerous.
Logistically speaking, she had to have overheard everything they said, so I wouldnt be surprised if it did come up between Elsa & Emma IF they werent going for selective deafness at God’s 😉When ABC gives out spoilers, then I’m fine with them. My problem is when people see the episode in advance and EVERYTHING gets leaked. If they don’t screen any more of the episodes in advance then I’m not too concerned about spoilers, haha.
YES! I mean it’s great these fans get something so special, but it is hard to not to totally spoil yourself for the whole ep 😉
I’m with you @surayya, I’m trying to wean myself off spoilers, but I can’t seem to do it, especially after watching the promo. I totally understand how Rumple can’t give up his magic, hehee
Maybe thats my Rumple is ticking me off so much this season- he.just.wont.give.up.the.spoilers …wait, what?! lol 😛
I’m really loving their dynamic too. I hope they get a lot more scenes together. Maybe I’m imagining it (maybe projecting), but I’m seeing similarities between Hook and Kristoff, in terms of how they interact with Elsa. Elsa seem quite comfortable now around both Hook and Emma – is she seeing Anna and Kristoff in them? – considering last week the thought of new people made Elsa go all ice crazy, now she’s all friendly and seemingly quite content. I find Hook’s way with Elsa quite brotherly too – he stuck up for her when Regina had a go at her for the Snow Monster; they have a lack of technology bond; Hook wasn’t being all flirty with her, his ‘charming pirate’ line was delivered in humour. (I love it when he descends into his cockney accent!) And I would love to see a platonic relationship between a man and woman done well to prove that they can be friends and not everything has to have an underlying sexual tension.
No, I think you are on the money with the similarities between Hook & kristoff in how they interact with Elsa. I love the platonic relationships being formed this season as well & hope we see more Killy & Elsa interaction for just the reason you mention… I think if he still had Tink about, they could have shown it there as well.
I did really love the episode, but I have to agree with the comment (Surayya? Maybe it was yours?) that I think I would’ve rather been spoiled by the kiss, for more impact.
Yeah, I’m going to make a concentrated effort to try hold back from of the spoilers for next ep… I totally went to town fangirling when I saw those pics, then went “DAMN, I supposed to be ‘no spoilers’ beyond the promo this week” lol- So not sure if I’ll make it, esp if a sneak peek comes out with CS goodness (what can I say- I’m weak 😉 ), but I’m making the effort this week since 402 was so mind blowing with all the wonderful surprise moments we got 😀
I also liked Killian & Elsa’s interaction. I think they’d make good friends even if it weren’t for Emma. I think they played off each other quite well when Elsa said she wasn’t going to sit around the sheriff’s station and Killian’s response was pretty much “well, DUH”. I can see Emma being very protective of both of them, since having a functional romantic relationship AND friendship are both new to her – and the two of them essentially patting her on the head and doing what they feel they must to keep Emma safe and protected.

The promo – SQUEE!!! I agree – I loved Emma’s outfit. It was really is probably her 1st real date – breaking into an amusement park aside – and it’s definitely Killian’s 1st date in this realm – so I love their clothing choices. It’s a great way to visually show that each of them wants to make a good impression on the other, even though they already know so much about the other. And they probably both do feel a little like they’re going back in time, and finally getting to experience the ‘normal’ things they missed out during their teenage years/20s. (or, 300s if you’re the pirate!) The point of course, being that these two people had to grow up so very fast and so very young – the clothes just allow the audience to see all of that without having to spend 20 minutes expressing those feelings verbally.

Wow, just got hit with a realisation while reading your post Jenna! This is actually Emma’s 1st real date knowing exactly who she really is! Every other ‘date’ she hasnt been aware of who she really is, which makes it that much more special 😀 That it’s probably Killian’s, 1st real date (doubtful FTL pirates actually do the whole dating thing lol & if the event they do date lol- then his 1st SB date), makes it all the more sweeter IMO.
Ok, time to get the child to bed! Somehow he managed to get me to allow him to stay up an extra 1/2 hour again…!!

I quite like the look they’re going for with Emma. The other two dates we’ve seen her on were very different. The first was work, she was in predator mode so she needed to look like a knock-out stunner to catch the guy. (I saw a show the other day that did an experiment on proving that men’s metal capacity goes down after talking to an attractive women, and it did heheheee). The second was a date with a man she’d been going out with for 8 months, she was already quite confident in her feelings for Walsh at that time. Also I got the impression she’d just come from work that time as well, so again perhaps needed the knock-out stunner look. There’s no need to attract Killian, he’s already well attracted, hence the toned down just nice looking pretty thing to wear, she can just be herself for a change. And it works well with/against Killian’s black leather. Yes and although I’m loathe to admit it, it is very Grease. Ohhh that top photo with the rose is so sweet. Did you see the one of Charming with his arm crossed looking all ‘you better not hurt my daughter or I will break you.” I love him in daddy mode. It’s just beautifully pointless but he’s still going to try and protect his little girl.

Also we have to remember Emma’s leather is her armor (pretty sure thats what JMo said), so even while on her date with Walsh, she still had those barriers up that she hadnt allowed him across, which i guess is why she ran from his proposal? She hadnt truly taken of her armor & allowed herself to be totally vulnerable with him yet?
I’m totally with you one Emma just being herself for a night, feminine, soft & vulnerable with a man she totally trusts & is falling/fallen in love with. I cant wait to see this more ‘whole’ side to Emma. I too dont think it’s that big of a leap from where she was… I mean she was wearing more feminine clothing in NY (frilly top thing) when she had her cursed memories anyway- sure they werent in feminine pastel colours, but it was there.
Re Daddy Charming, I know- I’m so very very excited to see Daddy Charming & Mama Snow with their daughters 1st SB date… might be a little late for taking her ‘prom’ photos, but they are both going to bust out those corny ‘my little girl’ moments, just for us Charming family & CS fans & I cant wait for it … I’m almost as excited for this family moment (cant wait to hear what Snow thinks of this lol) as I am for the date! 😉
And there’s the hand thing…I’m very curious to see how that goes down. For one thing, why is it in some kind of liquid when it wasn’t before? That’s fishy right there.And I don’t think I could deal with seeing Rumple take Hook’s hand again! (I mean, I know he’ll lose it again, but that’ll be so sad!) And let’s not forget that whole thing came from a deal that Rumple broke anyway (Milah’s and Killian’s lives for the bean–he murdered Milah and took the bean–or so he thought–anyway, in the most brutal way possible).
Totally agree with you here, I’d gotten used to the idea he’d have his hand back, so to find out it is for only an episode or 2, is a bit foreboding- Whales arm reattachment wasnt temporary & with magic in play I cant see why Killy’s hand would be any different (I’m wondering if Rumple ‘hires’ the hand to Killy & it’s a bit like Cinderella at the ball, he has it for a set time & poof off turns back into a stump/hook again or something maybe). I’m hoping Rumple has magicked the hand (or gives him another’s hand…*shudders*) or something like that in revenge for Hook crossing him (but I doubt Rumple would leave it at that), or that the ‘price’ of getting his hand back is higher than he thought & he gets Rumple to magic it off- I dont think I could stand seeing it cut off again either :/

As for why he’s hanging on to it to begin with, my theory is that maybe seeing the hand gave him an ego boost–it’s like a reminder of how he damaged the man who once made him (Rumple) feel emasculated, first when Killian challenged him to a duel and called him out on his cowardice and then when Rumple learned the truth about his wife having chosen to leave him for Killian and being so much happier for it.
This wouldnt surprise me in the least.

& the fact Snow puts down Neil (screw it, no matter how creepy weird it sounds in my head, big Neal is ‘Neal’ & Baby Neil is ‘Neil’) in favor of getting a picture of her daughter – Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww I was full on hoping for this moment to be shown, I hope we get to see it <3
To be fair, this is probably Emma’s first real proper date and if it is, seriously, it’s okay for her to be all pretty and lovely for it. Heck, the reason why I made such a big deal about going to prom my senior year was because it was my first date). And there is an innocence when there is a first date between a couple. I remember how nervous I was when I had my first meeting/date with my current boyfriend. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.
I think they are going the kind of first date route. It’s interesting, because it could show a lot of issues and lost opportunities. Not only CS stuff but also Snow and Charming, perhaps even Elsa. I do like how Hook and Emma kinda act like teenagers in promo . It’s cute. It is obvoius the date will end badly. But everyone will grow from it and maybe we’ll get a more CS like date. When they won’t be so … nervous about it and act like they normaly do.
Agreed. They also tend to dress Emma how she’s feeling, so if she’s feeling much softer, more open & vulnerable, it makes sense she will be shown in a softer, more innocent style of dress & hair style etc..

As for the hateful reviewers of Once, they are quite frankly talking out a hole in their backsides, because their oh so uninsightful views dont seem to reflect the ratings one bit… also reading reviews posted on this site, is like reading reviews of prison, written by prisoners in solitary lol 😛 They favor posting negative ones, as thats what seems to fall into line the most vocal posters on this site. This site isnt getting its anti-fan reputation for nothing sadly.
The true hallmark of what works is actual fan chatter & viewership IMO. I a member of a couple of groups which encompass over 5000 members, most of whom are if not out right loving this season, then at least enjoying it 🙂
I agree this was the best ep yet, I think this episode balanced plot & character arc/moments perfectly 🙂Looks like a new tradition… or is it new ship Charming Flook 😉
