So sorry I wasnt back in last night- got a call from a friend I hadnt spoken too for mths & we ended up talking for 6hrs lol
Anyway…I feel like I should share this here. It’s been going around Tumblr a lot recently; it’s a really good rebuttal to that whole “CS-is-rape-culture” accusation. It is quite long, but it’s excellent and even cites actual sources.
Now back to your regularly scheduled CS awesomeness…just three more days till a new episode!
What an epic (both in scale & in content 😉 ) meta that is! Thanks for sharing it Epona 🙂 It is brilliantly written & very well laid out! I couldnt agree with the writer more. I do love how she gave examples of each of the scenes & situations the haters bang on about & proved how absurd trying to call it rape culture really was…. also totally agree with her point here:
The BAs of the ship in question and Hook haters in general seem to epitomize rape culture themselves. For they are disregarding Emma’s consent in all of this. Emma has yes pushed Killian away emotionally because of canonically established fear of being hurt by those she cares for. By disregarding Emma’s choice to kiss Hook, in both Good Form, Kansas, There’s No Place Like Home, and A Tale of Two Sisters they are saying Emma’s choice doesn’t matter. That the fact that she is a consenting adult and has initiated all of their kisses, save but one means nothing because they erroneously think Hook embodies rape culture. He doesn’t those shippers and haters do because of their choice to disregard Emma’s choice in the situation.
I think this episode is gonna be huge for our ship. Emma in a near death situation, Killian might be getting his chance for a dashing rescue. From spoiler pics this is also the episode when we get the first Killian initiated kiss. There’s some magic that happens when the kiss happens and we know he does something to upset Emma before it happens
I kind of get the feeling they’re going to be setting up the Emmma/Elsa dynamic this ep- so think Killy might miss out on being the dashing hero for his Swan….again 😛 One of these days we will be able to swoop in & rescue her though. I’d like for it to be Ep2, but think they’ll keep us waiting a little longer yet- A&E are great teases & love to dangle the carrot for us lol 😉
We get the 1st Killian initiated kiss in ep2?! That isnt the night time one is it? The one they blocked? I thought that was for ep3?- Beyond excited if it’s ep2 or even better we get a kiss almost every ep 😉 I feel I’ve been living under a rock atm… there’s magic that happens?!!?!?! How did I miss this tidbit! Where/when/how did this get leaked?Hope you’ve had an enjoyable vacation Obisgirl! 😀 Looking forward to reading your thoughts & reactions of E01 & E02 🙂

She’s trying to figure out how to maintain a friendship with Regina,” actress Jennifer Morrison explains to Zap2it. “There’s all these things going on that are very new circumstances for her that are forcing her out of her comfort zone in every way.”
One of the most anticipated story lines for this season is Emma’s developing relationship with Hook,…..
“[Emma] hasn’t had the space to be vulnerable without being incredibly hurt or taken advantage of or put in a bad situation,” Morrison explains, “For the first time, maybe ever, or not since she was a very young child is in a very vulnerable state. That’s very uncomfortable for her, but exciting because that means there’s so much potential for growth.”For right now, Hook is the only man on Emma’s mind though. They didn’t manage to make a Netflix night work in the premiere but hints have been made that a “complicated” date is in their future. Check back next week for what Morrison had to say about Emma’s preparation for the most anticipated date in Storybrooke history.

Anyone else think Emma kissed Hook to avoid answering his question?
Yes but Killian knew he was being fobbed off (he’s quite perceptive, you know ;-)) but it was also a big step forward for Emma. Usually when she doesn’t want to talk about something she walks away from him. This time she kissed him, told him to be patient, which I interpret as ‘I will talk about this but not just now’ so Killian knows he’ll get an answer. Unless as he said he gets killed by a monster, hence his eagerness to live in the quiet moments. I really did love that scene. The whole “I don’t know what that is, but sure” is still making me giggle.
Just another side did anyone else think Hook was looking younger than he had been? Less brooding and more smiling perhaps? Agree with you on everything here.
Yep to Killy looking & maybe even acting a little younger…. or was it because he was actually less guarded maybe, either way he felt a little different than last seasons Killy- less brooding & more smiling/ happy as you say 🙂
Loved it! Agreed, there was a LOT packed into the hour, but that’s pretty typical with season premieres. There’s a lot to get done – remind returning viewers what happened last (apparently not all viewers are as rabid about every single second as us…weiiiird… ), provide enough exposition to get new viewers interested in returning, and start a new chapter of the story.

So, I think they did a good job. I have to say, I was pretty impressed with the CGI Pabbie! The snowmonster wasn’t too bad for OUAT CGI either, I thought.
I’m with you there, I was very pleasantly surprised with how good Onces CGI was this time- which ever animation company they changed too, they should stick with! 😉
I felt the interactions with Hook & Emma were completely spot on. I like that Hook is challenging Emma to deal with their new ‘status’ but knows when to back off. He didn’t come off whiny to me. He knows Emma, she acts exactly as expected but really, it’s still going to be frustrating dealing with the morning after cooldown after their fun lil game of tonsil hockey the night before! I actually really loved his response to her ‘be patient’ – once again reinforcing he’ll be there, but pointing out a monster could come kill him at any moment – almost kind of acknowledging her ‘there’s a crisis’ attempt to put things on hold.
